I can’t seem to activate single column view of the site. All pages have a sidebar and I want to remove the sidebar and add one manually when I want it, where I want it. How do I do that?
Hi there, if you want to change the sidebar settings for the the entire site, please go to Theme Options > Blog and select the sidebar settings you’d like under “Main Layout”. Optional sidebars are available when you create pages using Page Templates. Simply select the template you’d like to use for your page under the Page Attributes section.
Hi! I need to solve a problem. I have delated the footer area of my website. However, when I access from a mobile device, it continue appearing. It’s like a grey space that I would like to remove, but I can´t do it in theme options. Regards!
Hi there, could you tell me what CSS declaration you used to hide the footer, it’ll be easer to answer your question that way.
Hi! I need to solve a problem. Results that when a user Access to the web, it appears a black line in the part of Header. But it only happens in two pages, INICIO and QUIENES SOMOS. How can I customize this to delete the black line?
Hey there, it seems like you’ve made some customizations that are messing with the header. For some reason 1px of your header is being loaded and then hidden again. I’d go through your customizations and look at what changes you made might be causing this.
I would like to create unique headers for each of my Podcast pages…is this possible? I would be great to have a subscribe to RSS and iTunes button like you guys have on the Home Header too.
Hi there, do you mean unique navigation menus? Or the background color for headers of individual podcast posts? As for the subscribe button, you can activate it for single post pages in the theme options. Go to Theme Options > Front Page Header > Button on Single Page and check the box. I hope this is what you meant.
I bought another snazzy looking theme but in order to get it to look like the demo, it required a ton of customization (visual editor, for example). Will I be able to download this template and related plugins and be able to get to work?
Hi there, Podcaster does not use the visual editor. You will have to create a static page (you can use the demo import as well) and use presets to choose the demo you want. If you want the demo look, you should be able to set it up within half an hour depending on how fast you are. The “Getting Started” section of the documentation covers all you need to install and set up the theme. If you do purchase and have questions about installation, I’d he happy to help.
Forgive me for not understanding, but I installed the Serious Simple Podcasting plugin and it took the original homepage content away. If I disable it, the demo content shows back up again. I feel like there’s something simple I’m missing, but I can’t figure it out!
Everything is is pretty straightforward in the documentation except for integrating SSP and Soundcloud. Thank you!
Forgive me. Question #3 – When I share on Facebook the meta information is incorrect, and I don’t see where to fix that. Example: I fixed the website description but Facebook still says ‘Just another Wordpress Blog’. It also keeps showing a stock image although I deleted it.
Hi there, sorry to hear about that. Could you send me a URL for your project so I can take a closer look at what is happening? You can send it to support@themestation.net if you don’t want to share it here. Could you also send me a screenshot of what you see when you activate Seriously Simple Podcasting? Thanks!
Hi – I mentioned in a previous comment that SEO looks for H1 in post titles, you mentioned you’d look into it. In the meantime, can you please advise what file or how I can ensure the featured front page posts (in a slider) have a H1 title? Thanks.
Hi there, to edit the titles please open the file “functions/featured-header.php” and copy the functions pod_featured_multimedia() and pod_featured_header_text() into the functions.php file of your child theme. After that simply change all the instances of
to . When you copy the functions make sure you don’t copy the “if( ! function_exists(‘pod_featured_header_text’) ){” and corresponding closing “}” at the end of the function. Also keep in mind you might have to style the h1 tags separately. I hope this helps for now.
That’s great, thank you. I got that to work but I’m having difficulty simply styling the text to be white! It’s the span tag that’s confusing me I think… seems whatever I do has no effect and I end up with the standard a link colour. I’m clearly doing something wrong. I realise I’m probably pushing the boundaries of support now but any pointers would be gratefully received, I feel I’m so close!
Hi there, don’t worry about it
To edit the color of the title take a look at:
.latest-episode .main-featured-post a:link, .latest-episode .main-featured-post a:visited{}
And for the “Featured Episode” text, take a look at: .latest-episode .main-featured-post .mini-title, .front-page-header .text .mini-title {}
That should do the trick.
I thought that but it doesn’t seem to work – I’ve some screenshots to send so have created a ticket. Thanks again.
Actually no attachments… so anyway the color remains as it seems to be defined around line 121 in style.css and not overridden by using changes to mini-title as you described.
Hey there, thanks for your email. Give this a try: .front-page-header.slideshow .text a:link, .front-page-header.slideshow .text a:visited {} I tried it and it worked on my end. The classes are slightly different for the slideshow vs the other settings.
Hi, got it. That worked a treat! Thanks very much for your help.
HI,
The latest update seems to have some broken element that I”m unable to figure. Check out www.foundersgyan.com—except for the 1st post rest of the posts all have the audio embed displaying properly.
Right now, it looks as if it’s working properly, but that’s because i’ve created an awkward workaround. If you click on the very first post then you’ll see that the audio player comes up twice. That is because I”ve manually added the audio into the post in addition to posting in under the audio embed code…
Are you able to understand my issue and why this is being caused?
Thanks
Hey there, it seems like you selected oEmbed in instead of the regular embed option when creating your post. Change it to regular embed, insert your embed code into the textarea and it should work. Thanks for the feedback, though, I’ll look into making the embedding process better.
Thanks for the quick response, but I”m actually using “Regular embed”. oEmbed gives an error stating “No oEmbed Results Found for . View more info at codex.wordpress.org/Embeds”
In case you’re just wondering what the regular embed code is, it’s as follows:
<iframe width=”100%” height=”180” src=”https://www.mixcloud.com/widget/iframe/?feed=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2FFoundersGyan%2F3-major-steps-to-attract-high-ticket-clients-with-johnson-emmanuel%2F&hide_cover=1” frameborder=”0”></iframe>
Hey there, I just copy pasted the code you gave me an I got an error due to the quotation marks. I changed them to regular ones and it worked on my end. Could it be this? If it doesn’t work please create a dummy account for me and send it my way, I’ll take a closer look. (support@themestation.net)
Can you explain what you mean by “regular ones”—can you paste the code you tried?
ok, this definitely seems like a bug - any new post is having this same issue, not just the topmost post. Strange thing is that any previous post does not have the audio code embedded anywhere in the post. i.e. the featured audio is BLANK with “Audio Type selected as Audio File (URL)” without any values - so the question is where is this pulling the data from which seems to work just fine
Fast help is appreciated. If you need a login to investigate further, what type of login do you need?
Thanks
Edited:
Extremely strange behavior, only that particular episode seems to have a problem:
<iframe width=”100%” height=”180” src=”https://www.mixcloud.com/widget/iframe/?feed=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2FFoundersGyan%2F3-major-steps-to-attract-high-ticket-clients-with-johnson-emmanuel%2F&hide_cover=1” frameborder=”0”></iframe> . The above causes an issue while
<iframe width=”100%” height=”180” src=”https://www.mixcloud.com/widget/iframe/?feed=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2FFoundersGyan%2Fmaking-your-gigs-memorable-with-bigmygigcom%2F&hide_cover=1&light=1” frameborder=”0”></iframe>
works fine….
Looks like there is only an additional parameter in the iframe link , i.e. light=1 which controls the color
What could be going wrong.
Btw, i’m unable to find the audio embed code for posts prior to update. They all are blank and at the default of “Audio URL”, so likely there is some bug here that needs to be updated in case I want to retrieve and/or change previous audio embed values
Thanks
Hi, just create a dummy account for me with admin rights. Use the email support@themestation.net when creating the account. I’ll take a look. Thanks!
Hi. I’d like to change the length and the width of main menu. But I can’t customize it by looking in the theme options. What can I do? Regards!
Hi there, unfortunately support does not cover theme customization. I can give you a few pointers though, if you are comfortable with using CSS.
Hi! Please, give me the pointers. I need to solve this issue. Regards!!
Hi there, to change the width of the menu, you’ll have to define a new width for ”.above .container {}” . For the height of the menu, edit the top-padding and bottom-padding for ”#nav .thst-menu li{}” and ”#nav .thst-menu li a{}” . Make sure to put these into the style.css of the child theme.
Hi!! How can I change the header design? I want to use an specific image like header background. Are there any options? Regards!!
Hi there, you should be able to customize the header on your front page by going to Theme Options > Front Page Header > Background and then uploading your own image. If you want to change the blog header go to Theme Options > Blog > Blog Header and upload your own header there. You can find out more about this in the documentation: http://themestation.co/documentation/podcaster/#theme-options
i can pin post feature?
Hi there, I’m afraid I’m not sure I know what you mean. Do you mean sticky posts?
Hi!! I’ve bought and installed Podcaster theme. The problem is that I can’t customize the theme, nor header background color, neither fonts size. How can I customize it? Main theme, child theme? Regards!!!
Hi there, have you installed and activated Redux Framework plugin? You should see an info box in your dashboard letting you know to install it. It’s needed to activate the theme options and let you customize Podcaster. That should do the trick!
After that simply click on the “Theme Options” link that should be in your dashboard menu now to access the options. You can also add customizations that go beyond the theme options by using the child theme, yes.
Hi! I’ve bought and installed Podcaster theme. The problem is that I can’t customize the theme, nor header background color, neither fonts size. How can I customize it? Mail theme, child theme? Regards!
Hi there, before I get to your question, the account you used to write this comment doesn’t show that you purchased this theme. Maybe you used a different account for a client for example which is fine. But in order to verify your purchase you need to ask your question from that account. I’ll be happy to answer your question then.
I purchased license for theme. Submitted question through email contact form and no reply—it has been 5 days. People considering this theme should be aware that “support” is not timely, AND that documentation is lacking. Trying with the question here. The Subscribe by RSS button wants a link. How do I determine the link for the RSS feed of my site? (dmvcycling.com). According to the documentation, I no longer need a plugin to generate RSS. How is this done? Where do I acquire link?
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Podcaster does not need any RSS plugins to get it running. However, if you do need a podcast RSS feed, we recommend using BluBrry PowerPress. This is covered in the documentation under “Required Plugins”. I admit it might be a bit unclear, I’ll revise it a next version. Sorry about that.
After installing the BluBrry PowerPress, you should be able to copy the URL for your feed from it’s settings page. If you need help with that, I’d be happy to help, just create an account for me (using support@themestation.net) and let me know.
Hi Is it possible to use a logo size larger than 260px in width and 110px height?
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Uploading a logo larger than 260 * 110 will lead to it being cut off. Could you send me the dimensions of the logo you’re trying to use, then I can give a better answer.
Howdy! Is anyone else having issues with the RSS feed and iTunes? Apple recently deleted my podcast, and I cannot get any new feed to be accepted (despite validation). I simply get an email reply with “an error” that lacks description.
Hey there, sorry to hear about that. What plugin are you using to create/manage your RSS feed? Could you send me a URL so I can take a closer look? Thanks
Thanks for getting back to me! It was on Apple’s side…they had “deleted” my podcast without explanation, and after a few days back and forth with them via email, they reinstated my feed. Good to go! Great template and support…a MUST for podcasters. Check out my fantasy football league’s podcast, www.truthandrecon.com
Hi guys. I’m getting the following error in the console:
SCRIPT5022: InvalidStateError mediaelement-and-player.min.js (15,8080)
This suggests a fix: https://msdn.microsoft.com/query/dev12.query?appId=Dev12IDEF1&l=EN-US&k=k(VS.WebClient.Help.SCRIPT5022)
This is only an issue in IE (I’m testing in IE11 V.11.545)
This is beyond my scope. Can you assist?
Hi there, sorry about that. Could you send me a URL of the page you’re getting this error so I can take a closer look? Or describe what you are looking at when you get this error? Thanks.
Be sure you’re viewing in IE 11 and check the console for the error.
Thanks!
Thanks for the link, I just took a look at it in IE 11 and I’m not getting the error on my end. The file mediaelement-and-player.min.js is loaded wherever there is an audio or video player, are you getting this error on every page with an audio player?
Only on the front page, only with the player on the front page.
Hi there, I still haven’t been able to re-create this error. The only thing I can think of at this moment, is that your site is using https while your audio files seem to be using regular http.
Other than that, Podcaster uses the audio/video players supplied by WordPress, therefore there is nothing I can do from my end, to fix that file. I’ll keep an eye on this though. Sorry I can’t do more.
Hello: Is there a way to ad adsense ads to the home page?
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. You can add advertisement links in the footer by using the theme options. Please go to Theme Options > Footer and paste your code in the text box. Make sure you switch from “Visual” to “Text” first. If you wish to put you ad somewhere else on the front page, you can do so by customizing the code.
How do I get my ‘podcast archive’ page to look like this: http://applyfilters.fm/podcast/
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. I just took a look at the link and it looks like that was a personal customization done by the user themselves. Unfortunately we don’t do customizations at the moment. I hope this answers your question
We are new to website building and have made some fundamental mistakes after installing the theme. We’re happy to lose any information we’ve put on the site and would like uninstall and then re-install and start from fresh. Is this possible?
Yes it’s possible, you can delete the theme file and install a fresh copy. You can also download a fresh copy of your theme from your purchased files here on Themeforest. What kind of mistake did you make, maybe I can help.
An update… I was able to uninstall and reload the Podcaster Theme but the Theme Pages are not appearing on the site. The only one that’s there is News and Updates… Hello World! on the Front Page.
I have installed the Envato Market, REdux Framework and Seriously Simple Podcasting plug ins.
All the Theme Pages were there before uninstalling and reloading. I’m clearly doing something wrong.
Sounds like you might not have set up your static front page. You can find out more on how to do that in the documentation under “Getting Started”.
Thank you for these responses… here are a couple of thoughts.
We are trying to make the site more like a traditional site with exactly the same info at the top of every page so it’s really easy to navigate… with Home, Podcast, Blog, Team, Archives and Contact Pages.
The podcasts are being being generated by two well known Australian radio and TV broadcasters and the demo age is 45 plus. We want the site to feel comfortable and easy to move around.
We didn’t hesitate choosing Podcaster because of the great features created for podcasting! It will be wonderful once we get the Menu up with all the above pages working fully.
The Static Front Page is up and a few things are still missing but we can get around that.
Final quick questions… when we deleted the theme a couple of days ago we were happy to lose the data. I’m worried about re-installing the theme on top of what we’re working on now. Also, we’re working with the Child Theme… the Parent is there. Should we be using this as well? I’ve never truly understood the difference and have simply followed advice.
Me again… please ignore most of previous questions aside from the Child/Parent query.
We are beginning to understand the importance of uploading Podcasts and Blogs in the right place so that the navigation is seamless… they don’t need a Menu Page of their own.
It’s been an interesting and challenging experience so far… can’t wait to start installing widgets. Not!
Seriously, the more we get into it, the more confident we are with the process. Podcaster is a great theme for what we are trying to do. Thanks!
Happy to hear you’re enjoying using Podcaster. WordPress can have a steep learning curve, but I find it pays off in the end.
To your question: The child theme allows you to make customizations to your theme, without touching the actual code of the parent theme. Since theme updates usually overwrite the parent theme, your changes will be safe if they are made in the child theme. As long as you’ve activated the child theme and are making your customizations there, you can leave the parent theme alone. The child loads all template files and settings from the parent, while allowing you to override the parent as well. I hope this answers your question
Thank you so much… very clear! Also, I’m briefing a couple of associates on doing some work on the theme but the Podcaster Demo Model has been in Maintenance Mode for a couple of days. Any chance of this being up and running again soon? It’s a vital part of explaining some issues to them.
It’s up and running, sorry about that!
Brilliant… thank you!
Hi, I’m 99% convinced to buy, just have a few questions: How much customizability is there in the colours (for backgrounds, headers etc). – is it limited by the dark/light templates? Also, when I view the live preview on a mobile device it splits the podcast posts into two columns, making them virtually unreadable. Can that be changed in the theme? Thank you.
Hi there, thanks for showing interest in Podcaster, I’ll get right to your questions:
You can choose between a dark and light template. Accent colors and customization for headers and the footer is unlimited. Color pickers allow you to set any color you want. As for the responsive settings, they cannot be changed in the theme options. If you do wish to customize, you can always use the child theme to do this. Only recommended if you have CSS and some PHP knowledge though. I hope this answers your questions and you still feel like purchasing
