Thank you for your interest! The Avada theme is coded to strict standards to minimize the possibility of conflict. However, we’re not able to guarantee that a conflict won’t occur with your custom plugin because it’s not tested with Avada. When conflicts are found, they’re evaluated and fixed on our end when possible or through the conflicting plugin’s code where applicable.

hi – on one of my avada 5.0.5 installs (w.visual composer 5.0.1) after upgrading to wp 4.7 I can no longer edit text blocks—any ideas? it’ll create new ones, but can no longer edit & save them (I cant allow login to my site backend, so any ideas here you can post?) thanks..

There are currently no reported issues with Avada and WP 4.7. This WP version has been tested for the past several weeks by our team without issue and no reports have come through support. This is likely an issue caused by a plugin you’re using. Try disabling all non-Avada plugins to test for a conflict. If that fixes the problem, enable your plugins one by one and refresh the issue page. When the problem returns you’ll know what plugin is causing this and can remove/replace as needed.
If that doesn’t fix this for you, we would have to check into it first hand. If you would like us to do that, please submit a ticket in our support center and our team will check this for you.

hi—thanks, yes I did that; confirmed its the latest EventOn plugin (v 2.4.10) causing conflict; I deleted it and rolled back to prior version and now all works fine… whew! my main site, so it was important; problem solved

Is there a way to hide the time (only want the date to show) when using the Events element? I can code, but not sure what file I need to edit.
Curious if you also know how to hide the categories on the single event page.

That is in WP Admin > Events > Settings > Display;

Unless I’m missing something that only affects the date. I’m looking for a way to hide the time so it only says the date when used in the shortcode, not in the single event page.

Before updating from 4.0.3. to 5.0.5 I did the backup of all files on server and of the database…. I did the update, everything seemed to be normal… but I was so unpleasantly surprised after I tried to open and see my website! There was nothing! Pure blank! I had to to restore the files and database, but AGAIN problems! Now when old files and database are up, my website looks scrambled and messed up! What could have happened wrong? Please help me with this! Even the restore didnt restore to my previous good and working site….

Hello, thank you for your kind reply and I apologize for my panic… I managed to restore some previous version and for now all is ok…
However, I am aware I will have to do the update to 5.0.5. sooner or later so I wonder when is the best to do it, I mean so you guys may see it quickly after I mess up the site with the update ….

Hi, I love this theme.. but it seems like something goes wrong on mobile devices. My website is www.degroeiboom.nl. The footer is displayed correctly on desktop and tablet, but not on mobile devices. There appears a white bar above and below the footer.
Did I do something wrong or have more people troubles with this?

Looks like a border to me, please make sure that you are not assigning a border from Theme Options > Footer > Footer Styling.

Thanks for your quick response.
The border size is 0, that’s not the problem. You see that the text of the first header is really close to the edge. There should be more space between the text and the edge. (go to www.degroeiboom.nl on desktop and mobile device to see the difference)
On desktop and tablet he is shown well, so it looks like a bug to me. I turned off all plugins 1 by 1, but the problem was still there.

Hello, is it possible to set the portfolio with a custom grid? Not just 3 column grid but for example: 1st row – 3 columns; 2nd row – 1 column, 3rd row – 2 columns etc… many thanks

I am new to Avada.. I purchased this theme because of its multipurpose features. I am planning for a ecommerce site. I want to show different products in home page like a carousel slider. I tried with Woo carousel I was unable to modify the styles and the look of products in Woo carousel. I want to change the mouse hover effect. I want to show “add to cart” below the product Image. Is it possible to customise products in Woo carousel? Please let me know your comments

It depends on what you want to change about the woo slider as its a default Woo Shortcode, however the rollover should show you the prices and add to cart link on the slides for sure.

How do i get rid of dates from being displayed in the search engines?
It seems only Avada’s theme keeps showing/displaying the exact date of when the post/page was published. I need to remove/block the dates from being show in the search results page.

The dates are part of the Avada Rich Snippets. We do include an option to disable dates, which is to disable the Rich Snippets setting. This won’t cause you to have a bad SEO score, it just removes that meta from being picked up by search engines.

How can I “Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content”? When I try plugins like Autoptimize and Hummingbird they completely wreck the Fusion Slider and most of the layout. Please help.

These are likely caused by some plugins you’re using. Each plugin added to your site will have resources and scripts of its own that may be loaded before the fold. We would be happy to check into this for you through support.

Fantastic job everyone!
I’m a regular visitor to this page and see many issues appear to be caused by third party plug-ins. Is it possible to have an effective, functioning Avada themed site without them?
For example, does your wonderful ‘Photography’ demo use any plug-ins? What slider is used there?
Is the ‘Slider Revolution’ a plug-in? Alternatively, I understand your Fusion Slider is proprietary, does that mean it’s not?
I’m not looking to use things like woo-commerce, google maps etc. but I would like to have a newsletter sign up facility, is that bundled with the theme?

Thank you for your interest! The Avada theme has a special plugins page which has all the plugins that are actually tested with Avada regularly and are guaranteed to be compatible with the theme (Revolution Slider, WooCommerce, etc.).
Unless a 3rd party plugin is officially checked and tested with Avada for compatibility, we are not able to guarantee compatibility simply because we do not have control, over the plugin’s code or development. If an issue arises, our support team can check into it but may need to defer the issue back to the plugin developer, dependant on what and how the issue manifests.
Our demos are created with Avada features and any plugins used are from the Avada recommended plugins page mentioned above. The slider used in the Photography demo is the Fusion Slider.
The Revolution Slider is a separate plugin. The Fusion Slider is too and is from the Fusion Core plugin. Revolution Slider examples can be found under the “Sliders” menu item from the main site > http://bit.ly/2hoCdXx

Avada has a built in Contact form where you would be able to receive feedback / information from users, but there isn’t an auto signup element / newsletter function in Avada core at this time. So a plugin may be a good choice here depending on your specific needs.

I understand that, because you have no control over them, issues with third party plug-ins can arise. I hear some also slow down site performance, so I’m keen to avoid them as much as possible.
It’s great to know there is an ‘approved list’ so to speak, that makes life much easier.
I must admit I’m struggling to understand the difference between the Post, Elastic, Fusion and Revolution sliders; specifically, what one does that the others don’t. I’ve looked through your documentation but I can’t see anything that tells me ‘If you want to do this, use that’ type of thing.
Hopefully there’s some sort of ‘idiots guide to Avada’ hiding somewhere.
I’ll have to get into it nearer the time I buy your theme, but right now it’s all looking horribly technical.
The built in Contact form sounds fine, I’m sure I can manage with that.

My forthcoming site will have a huge amount of content (700+ images, 300+ articles plus videos). It’s quite daunting.
So, is it possible to buy your theme, install it onto my laptop and set up my site before uploading the whole thing to a host? Would it work just as it would appear on the internet?
It would give me a chance to muck around with it in my own time until I’m happy everything is working ok.

Those images are used in the theme’s various layouts to help improve page load time by loading only as large of an image as is needed for the layout / screen size of the viewer.
