1. How fast is this theme? The demo speed is not accurate because you put a lot of things in there for demonstration prepossess, which can make the page slow.
2. Can I put the recent blog posts on the home page? Like salient does, http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate/ if you scroll down at the bottom you will see 3 recent posts being pulled from the blog.
If yes, how many styles does the recent blog post have?

1) Depending of the number of contents, if it’s one or multipage, of course the server speed is also important, but i will tell and average of 3 – 5 sec to load
2) Yes you can, i just have one style and there is not build with Page Builder element, is a widget that you need to put on a sidebar and then call the sidebar on the page you want to show it. The style is this one http://treekode.com/maple/home/homepage-version-3/ at the bottom of the page
3) If you are talking about a masonry blog, yes there are http://treekode.com/maple/blog-masonry/
5) No the theme don’t have that feature.

Thank you for getting back with me, for the number 3 I was not talking about masonry blog, I was talking about the recent post slider right on top of the masons blog here http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate/news/
It pulls all the recent posts but displays them as a slider, this is a good option for having a slider on a home page if you want to show the recent blog posts.
Just bought this theme! From the first install I saw the required plugins and got a bit disappointed.
Why are the portfolio and the contact 7 plugins required?
Not everyone wants to create a portfolio, I am going to use this theme for something that does not require a portfolio and having that extra plugin that I do not need is just extra script on my page, slows down my site and too many plugins can have security issue if they are not properly updated.
And not everyone is using contact us 7, there are way better contact forms and having this just extra on the site is very disappointing. Is there any way that I can manually remove the stuff I dont need?

The headlines (H1,H2,H3, etc) have large kerning. I have not been able to find any option to adjust the spacing in between these letters…..or to make the main nav links closer together at that. Please advise

For the headings you can change the letter-spacing values on Maple Options -> Custom CSS.
Regarding main nav links, change them on Maple Style Options -> Menu.

I already fix that issue on previous updates, please check if you have the latest version installed (1.2) if not, update it to latest version. After this you are able to delete twitter social.
You can update the theme trough wp dashboard, you just need to add your license on the bundled plugin Envato Market.
