Hi, I’m using Ark on my site and have had a major issue. after a routine theme and freshface plugin update, all formatting has been lost. Restoring via Vaultpress has not fixed the issue. I’m trying to login to the Ark Support forum using my Envato account but can’t login to get help. Envato lets me login here. Please help! Nigel
Panic over, disabled theme and all plugins, re-enabled one at a time and it fixed it. I still can’t login to the support forum so would appreciate any help on that.

Glad to hear it’s working for you now, let us know if it happens again. Something like that sounds like a server/plugin issue, but we are happy to assist if you can send us your WP/FTP logins. Regarding the forums, the user account “BETL1” did not purchase Ark (you would see the “PURCHASED” flair next to your name here) so it’s probably your other account you would need to use to log into our forums. If you would still have trouble logging in, please send us a message from our profile page and we will look into it.

L.s., Hi. I just bought ARK. And I am just a simple guy….but it seems it doesnt work on mobile phone (samsung at least ). It just shows weird code (starting: [ffb_section_0 unique_id=”rn8735a” data=”%7B%22o%22%3A%7B%22gen%22%3A%7B%22ffsys-disabled%22%3A%220%22%2C%22ffsys-info%22%3A%22%7B%7D%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22fg-container-fluid%22%2C%22no-padding%22%3A etc etc etc. ending: /ffb_row_4/ffb_slider_2[/ffb_section_0]).
Regular desktop is fine. The site is: www.stephanwetzels.nl. My host says it is a theme error. Can you figure it out? Thanks!

O well…..happy to early…...problem persists. It seems it has trouble with the frontpage only on mobile devices (it gives the weird code). I will contact you soon. The link you provided gives an 404, so please sent me the link again so you can look into the code ans settings of my webpage

There is no way, how could Ark show this code only on mobile, but not on all devices. Most probably is this caused by one of your plugins. My bet is the “WP Touch” plugin, which is actually doing this exact thing. Can you try your website when you disable this plugin?

I spent tens of hours working with ARK, and I guess indeed the possibilities are endless. But I also have to say that it is quite overwhelming for relative beginners. I face a lot of problems which are hard to solve, unless searching hours in support and help files and doing a lot of trial and error. So I hope I do not ask a simple question here which has been answered many times, but it seems to me the fastest way to get on with my website.
First of all I have a lot of trouble editing my blog page (http://www.stephanwetzels.nl/schrijven/) . When it is set to default it seems impossible to edit anything at all. I changed the footer and a lot of other things, but it keeps showing the ARK footer (all the way down) and doesn’t do anything with the layout.
Second I came from another theme and published over 150 posts. It seems that I have to change the footer in every post, to get rid of the ARK footer. Isn’t there any way to do this faster? And it is also a problem that a lot of posts are not showing well due to the fact ARK uses different dimensions (so text and images are out of balance in many posts).
And last my biggest problem (so far). I have made a testblog, to fancy my posts (see http://www.stephanwetzels.nl/blogtest/). I am thinking of making this default. It was quite lame so I set a featuring image for several posts. But what I didn’t know was that this image is now on top of every post and shows also in the title bar (instead of my default). I installed the plug-in hide featured image, and set it to Yes, but that doesn’t do anything. So how it is possible to set an image in the general blog overview, but not in each post as ugly primary large image on top and in header?

Thank you for your feedback, I would not say, that Ark is complex, rather that Ark is first WordPress theme, which has been done right. This goes in hand with offering lot of customization options and settings – simply because we wanted to give our users freedom, which was never saw before.
We also introduced more than 1 hour of video tutorials, which can be seen in our youtube channel. These english narrated tutorials basically covers every part of usage and working with Ark and I would really recommend you to check them
1.) Blog Page is a WordPress construct, where the content of the page itself gets ignored (this is how WP works). If you want to edit blog page, you can do it in WP Admin -> Ark -> Sitemap -> Blog Archive. You can also set here the wished footer for your blog page.
2.) No, there is no need to set footer manually for each post. This is where sitemap comes in. WP Admin -> Ark -> Sitemap -> Blog Single, here you can set footer for all your blog single pages
3.) Same here, the featured image has been set in your titlebar. If you remove your titlebar, you will get rid of the featured image. Or you can remove featured image from your titlebar (it’s a background layer on your section).
From my point of view, you are missing the Sitemap feature. So please watch this video and watch also the introductory video. After this it should be all clear for you.

Local video files are currently not supported in Portfolio category view – only in single portfolio view when you use Fresh Builder to craft the content of your single portfolio post. Alternatively, you can have YouTube videos instead of local video files. Here are the steps for that:
Step one – allow single portfolio posts to define the links
Step Two – define the link (YouTube in your case) in your portfolio posts

This is common WordPress issue. And You are approaching it right, good job. First please be sure, that you are uploading archive caled “ark-UPLOAD-THIS.zip”. If so, then there are other variables, which may influence this process and easiest way would be to upload Ark via FTP. This can be done by simply unzipping the archive and uploading it to wp-content/themes/ folder.

In current situation, we offer just a standard level of customisation for this part of your site and you might need a little bit of css / html knowledge. Hi…excited to use this theme. I installed the theme and all the recommended plugins etc. I was following along the steps in the Ark Introduction video, but my page doesn’t look like the one in the video. There’s a static header across the top and the image in the About Me section doesn’t show up and there is no blue background on the right. In the process section, my images are showing up as squares and not responsive circles. What did I do wrong??

Hello! First, this theme is INSANE! Best thing ever!. Now I have relief from VC! Good to have something as flexible and good looking as Fresh Builder. So, I have few questions.
1. Is it possible to have something like popup? That would be great to be able to build popups using FB, and then activate them using button (that partially could be done using HTML) or have invisible FB module/template with settings to open popup like common popups (after time, on mouse over, when leaving page/ entering page, after scroll etc.) or as global setting tab in options panel. I’m sick of heavy popup plugins, to create simple popup. And using FB to create popups?! That would be powerful feature!
2. How can I build gallery? Just simple gallery with images as grid? And with option to have margins, displayed as masonry or regular
3. Is there an option to exclude category? There is field where I can include categories, but when I have lots of them and I wan to exclude only one… for example featured category.
4. Woocommerce cart popup in vertical menu…please!
5. When I have Performance Cache enabled, I can use WP Super Cache also? This is recommended cache by you? Im looking for new one (instead W3 Total Cache).
6. Is it normal that every time I open Fresh Builder I have loading items counter like… Loading Elements: 90/220. That is missing in your videos. I have Performance Cache enabled. No problem with that, but is it possible to cache it or something?

7. How can I force footer to keep it size (height) when I don’t have enough content and stretch section container instead?

Thank you for your kind words, we really appreciate it! Allow me to answer your questions below:
1) A lot of the Fresh Builder elements can already trigger a lightbox with custom page inside the lightbox upon clicking. But if you are talking about timed popups (such as ads) then it’s probably best to use a plugin made specifically for that purpose.
2) At the moment, the most feature-rich way to create a gallery is using the Portfolio feature. It has a lot of options and can be transformed into grid, masonry or slider and can open lightbox upon clicking.
3) We are working on this really big new feature and one of the new things in that update will be a new post selector popup which will allow you to handpick your posts with ease.
4) We have already scheduled a dev who will be looking into this, see if he can make it happen soon
5) We recommend a combination of both Fresh Performance Cache and WP Super Cache, both installed and active at the same time.
6) The loading counter has been introduced maybe 2 weeks back (guessing) but other than that it’s the same as what you see in our videos. Actually, the load times are even better now than what you see on the videos because of some improvements. It all depends on the hardware of your server computer. So we always recommend to stay away from GoDaddy and other slow/horrible hosting providers. We have just purchased a new hosting (based on Amazon cloud) that we will migrate to soon that is very fast and loads Fresh Builder in one second.

Hi. On a brand new install of the theme and WP. When I go to edit a page or go to the sitemap editor with the demo data loaded, it gets stuck on “Loading Elements 60/220” – It’s been that way for over an hour, so something isn’t right.
PHP is set with a 512MB memory limit and my stats are showing me it isn’t using that when this is happening.

Yes, of course, this works out of the box. The side-menu is actually a standard header with standard WordPress navigation. So configuration for side-menu can be done in WP Admin -> Ark -> Headers (and select the vertical menu type).
Filling the links and creating navigation menu can be done in WP Admin -> Appearance -> Menu. That’s it, if you struggle with anything, let us know.

Yes, you can certainly make onepage or multipage websites with Ark. Video backgrounds are implemented as well, they are showcased in one of our many videos here. We try to have good seo but I think that sitelinks are not something we can automatically do for everyone because it’s up to google too add it, see this article.

How do you set the anchor position values for the menu items to set which location on the page the menu item leads to?
Lastly, I wish to use a self-hosted video as the header background rather than using youtube or vimeo. How would that work with the Ark without making the website size incredibly huge on loading?

We have answered the one page links question here.
Regarding video backgrounds, only YouTube is possible at the moment. They are pretty efficient when it comes to loading and we have their API implemented so we were able to mute and loop the video. Your server would use a lot a lot of bandwidth if you would like a self-hosted video that autoplays for all visitors, this way it’s nicely offloaded to YouTube servers.

Hi, after editing a paragraph element and hit “Quicksave” i got on the frontend just a white screen! Everything is in place, checked the database, the post are there. When I make a preview of the theme (Theme>Livepreview) everything shows nicely. On the frontend is just – nothing! pls help!

The Ark has the premium Fresh Custom Code plugin bundled for free and it’s highly probably that you have it already installed and activated. So if you go to “WP-admin > Appearance > Custom Code”, there you can create a new code. Insert your JS GA code in the text editor there and the on the right-hand side, switch the language to JS. You can verify that the code has indeed been inserted by refreshing your home page and right-clicking into it and selecting “View source code” (or similar) and then searching for the GA code part.

I am sorry, but I added like you said, then I added and chose Tracking Code, but none show up under Live Traffic on Google analytics site. I can see the code with view source, but not sure if its sending information out as I have tried several browsers, pages, and Google is not picking up. I also have a few sub domains on this site using a separate theme and this show sup no issue.

Hi I can not edit each item in fresh builder. After click edit button and show popup window, then I can not save, cancel, can not close edit window.
So, I can not change any text of element. my server is high end , high performance.

FreshBuilder works for thousands of users, most probably there is issue with your server environment. What can you do yourself as a fast help is this:
Go to WP Admin -> Ark -> Dashboard -> System Status and delete backend builder cache here. If this does not help, please post a ticket at our support forum
Include your WP and FTP login there, we will provide assistance. But its weekend, so our answer time can be up to 24 hours. We will do our best, but if you run out of time, you can always simply ask for a refund.

Yes, this is already implemented. Please add the “Scroll To” element, ideally into an already existing “Column” element. It will show a jumping arrow down icon that can be fully customized.

Sorry, I was under the impression that you already have a slider. The steps I have described above can be done in Fresh Builder interface. When I said “element”, I was referring to a “Fresh Builder element”.
