How can I get it so that when the Read More button (top photo) is clicked on and opens a new window I can place an embedded youtube video there (bottom photo)? photo pjimage_zpsyd0suioz.jpg

Hey here, currently that link, links to your single post page. What you’re looking for can probably be achieved with a jQuery plugin and some CSS. Customization is beyond my scope within support, but I can point you to a good resource when looking for jQuery plugins. www.unheap.com has a great collection of plugins, you might find what you are looking for there. I hope this helps :)

How Can I change the date in blue? This is the page after you click on one of the posts below the feature post photo Screen Shot 2017-03-03 at 11.17.00 PM_zpsi9rjmxgo.png

On the front page, how do I get the posts below the featured post to be smaller, regular embed size? No matter what i do it won’t shrink up the video. I want it smaller because it’s not a featured post. You can go to my website to see if that would help. www.thechapterofthearchitech.com Here is a photo photo site_zpsnauybbes.jpg

On the front page, you have multiple options of displaying your excerpt. Either text only, which is automatically cut short by the theme, or showing the full content (which is what your settings are currently on). In that case the content (including the video) takes up the full width. The video in particular in responsive making it stick to the sides of the content area regardless of screen size. But I’ll look into whether what you want can be done.

First off, Thank you so much for all your help. You have truly made this easy to work with. How can I replace the episode 5 image (episode below the header episode) with a youtube video? Or at least when clicked on and the new window pops up it shows an embedded youtube video?

Hi there, I’m happy to hear that. As for the Youtube video, is that what you are embedding as an episode? In that case, clicking on then title should lead to your single post with the video embedded.

I’m thinking about purchasing this for a video podcast website but had a couple of questions. Can this theme handle video podcast as opposed to audio? On the homepage stream is there a way to show the videos as opposed to thumbnail of images? Also is the theme compatible with woocommerce?

Hi there, thanks for showing interest in Podcaster. Yes, videos can be handled by this theme as well. Though this also depends on the plugin you’re using to manage your podcast. If you let me know, I can give a better answer.

As it stands, the theme only displays thumbnails on the front page, unfortunately. This is also done to avoid multiple videos loading all at the same time, which eats a lot of browser memory and can crash browsers.

No, Podcaster is not compatible with WooCommerce of now, sorry to say.

I hope this answers your questions, feel free to add any follow up questions.

How can I move the Header Title down a bit?

Responded in email.

How can I make the header title bigger and also change the color only on the header title?

Responded in email.

This may be a silly question but I have been using wordpress for about a year now. With this theme I can’t seem to find where to go to upload a podcast. I want to replace the ones that are in the Demo Data with my podcast and its image. How do I replace the current podcast episodes with mine? As well as replace the images for each podcast episode?

Hi there, sorry for the delay with your questions, there have been some technical difficulties on my end. I just read your emails as well, so taking that into consideration, could you make a dummy account so I can take a closer look at your setup? You should be able to edit posts and replace audio files and featured images without any difficulties, so I can’t tell what might be happening from my end. I can also take a look at the logo you want to display in your footer. Please use the email support@themestation.net when creating the account. Sorry about this, I don’t know what might be happening, but I’ll get to the root of it.

How can I center my logo? How can I control position of the logo?

To insert your logo in that spot, please make sure you click the “Text” tab on the far right corner of your text window. By default it is set to “Visual”. After you do that, paste the code. Now it should be read properly and display your logo. :)

I did that and it seems to have worked partially. As you can see after I pasted this code

r/thechapterofthearchitech/6/2”>The Chapter of the Architech

↑ Grab this Headline Animator

It still wouldn’t work. I got that code straight from feedburner. I then went to my podcaster theme Theme Options>Footer>Text and pasted it and still nothing. TheChapterOfTheArchitech.com all the way at the bottom so you can see what I mean. You will see “Grab this headliner animator” it would have the RSS Feed box there but doesn’t.

I’ll take a look at this after logging in as well. :)

Hi guys I am currently trying to implement the Smart Podcast Player into the site. It uses shortcodes to embed and it works great when embedding it into the content of a post. But ultimately I need to make it appear in the header in the exact same way that anything using the Audio Embed Code field in the post editor does. I am able to embed anything using an iFrame perfectly fine, but using the shortcode embed codes that Smart Podcast Player uses doesnt work. Can you give me any ideas on how to implement the changes required to make a shortcode embedded player work correctly in the Audio Embed Code field?

Hey there, thanks for getting in touch. This is being looked into at the moment, I’ll let you know when I have any new information.

Hi. New purchase and I am happy so far.

One question. It seems like disabling the transparency filter when using header type static does not work. Is there a way I can remove the muted tone over my header image without switching to static?

Thanks for this feedback, this is being looked into!

I am loving the Podcaster theme. However I have a major problem. The rss feed doesn’t work at all. I am using Blubrry Powerpress plugin with Blubrry hosting services. When I submit my feed to a feed validator, : http://expat-heroes.com/feed/podcast/, the tool tells me “it looks like this is a web page, not a feed”. Please help me ! I need to get this up and running before the end of the month !!!

Hey there, I just tried to open the link to your feed and I’m getting a “coming soon” page. Could that be the reason the validator is giving you that error? If you’re site is set to maintenance, the feed validator probably won’t be able to read the feed and might not work.

How can I view how many downloads each podcast episode has?

Hey there, this depends on the features of the plugin you’re using to manage your podcast. It’s out of the scope of Podcaster unfortunately.

Hello,

I absolutely love the product, however one of the reason I purchased this theme is because of the audio player on the Front Page header –

For the notes below, please see this screenshot: http://imgur.com/KnV6d4F

(1) On mobile, the audio player is a small, thin vertical line instead of a full “play bar” and it doesn’t look good.

(2) Also while playing the audio player on mobile, the time span reads “NaN:NaN”

Please advise on how this can be resolved.

Cheers, Tim

Hey there, is this happening after you’ve done the update? Or have you been unable to install the update? What version is the parent theme currently? The updated version should be 1.6.5

I have been unable to install the update – the version right now is 1.6.4 however the Envato Market Plugin is not giving any notification for an automatic update… in the “Updates” section in the dashboard, it reads “Themes: Your themes are all up to date.”

Please advise on how to get the Envato Market Plugin (already installed and activated) to detect the theme update :)

When you go to the Envato Market plugin page, is it displaying your purchased themes under the “Themes” tab, and saying they’re all up to date? If not, you might have to recheck your oAUth tokens.(http://themestation.co/documentation/podcaster/#updates)

Otherwise you could always install the update manually, the plugin should be working though. :)

Hi, I try to install the demo data but I get an error “Content-Encoding-Error” and nothing is imported. Any idea? Is there a workaround? Thanks.

OK – I imported without attachments and it worked…

Hi I am working with a client that is using this theme. I have deleted all demo categories and Podcasts disappeared from the front page and Podcasts page event though all settings are set as it should be (all podcasts assigned to a specific category and that category is selected as podcasts category) in theme settings . I noticed that there are more people having the same issue. Can you please clarify and reply to all which bug is causing this ? Thanks

Hey there, sorry to hear about this. Could you create a dummy account for me so I can login and take a closer look at what might be happening? Please use support@themestation.net as the email. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for reply, I just sent you an email

I’ve got enough content posted to now start cleaning up the site, but I’ve found I can’t 1. post an image to the header, just not displaying 2. get audio content to post. I put the insert. The players and download are empty. a. I’ve used the audio embed as well as just the featured file. 3. Maintain a static front page. No matter what I do, the front page is multiple entries for the podcast. My static front page is not showing there.

Thanks, have a great day!

Hey there, sorry about that. Could you send me your URL so I can take a closer look at what is happening? You can also send it to support@themestation.net if you don’t want to post it here.

BuildingCommunity.Today Thanks! With support like this you can expect me to buy the add on when this expires. Spot on!

Hi there, thanks I’m happy to hear that you’re satisfied with the quality support. :)

I just checked the header and there seems to be something wrong with the image you set for the header itself. When I tried to load it I got a “404 cannot be found” error. Same for the audio file. There seems to be something wrong with media files in general. Are the files uploaded properly and uncorrupted? Might caching plugins be active, that could interfere with the files in rare cases.

As for the static front page, you seem to have gotten that to work. Looks fine on my end.

Hi, just wondered, how can I install the updates on this theme without having to reinstall the theme and then set everything up again? Really like the theme but my changes have been really time consuming. Thanks

Hi there, you can set up Envato Market, that will allow you to update your theme from the “Updates” section of your dashboard. Find out how to do that here: http://themestation.co/documentation/podcaster/#updates

Hey guys, love the theme so far. Just a quick question. In the Podcast section, under all of the episodes we have uploaded it says views on the side. I was just curious how that stat is generated because we have a podcast that hasn’t been released yet and the episode says it has 2000 plus views?

Hi there, thanks for letting me know, this is being looked into.

I’m not sure what exactly happened, but the theme is no longer visible in the dashboard after the latest Wordpress update to 4.7.2. It has now reverted to Twenty seventeen. The podcaster files are still in my directory, just not showing. Also, do you have a website to better search these support questions and reference your materials, like the github update instructions?

Hey there, just a question: are you using the child theme to make your theme customizations? Or do you mean you had to reset the theme options?

No, not using a child theme, not sure how to do that yet and haven’t seen it in the documentation, but I’ll take another look today. I had to reactivate the theme from the envato marketplace. It hadn’t saved any of the edits I previously had, which required me to redo the setup. Fortunately I haven’t figured it out the whole way, so I didn’t have much to redo.

I recommend using a child theme when making edits to the code, otherwise the changes will be overwritten each time you perform an update. With a child theme, you can copy the files you would like to edit, and paste them into the child theme. Then edit to your hearts desire while leaving the parent file untouched. When you then perform an update, only the unchanged parent theme will be updated, the child theme with your edits reminds intact.

You should already have a blank child theme among your download files called podcaster-child.zip. I’m currently working on improving the documentation, but for now here is some further reading to get into child themes: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2016/01/create-customize-wordpress-child-theme/ https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-create-wordpress-child-theme/

I started getting “Fatal error: Call to undefined function esc_html() in /wp-admin/index.php on line 96” and my site has broken, even though I hadn’t changed anything on my end. Any thoughts?

Hi there, sorry to hear about that. Were any updates made, perhaps automatically. It’s hard to say anything about what might be happening from my end. Are you able to log in?

I was able to restore my site by reinstalling Wordpress files, making sure to NOT overwrite the existing wp-content folder.

Hey there, happy to hear you got it up and running again. I’m still unsure how I can help you from my end, since this could have been caused by a number of things, not necessarily the theme. Did you find out where this was coming from?
