Our theme does not have any options to remove the breadcrumbs from specific places. They are added over the whole website. You can however hide them with css or remove theme from the theme code if you like. The css version is the simplest and does not require editing the theme files. Please add this code in the theme panel->custom css box:

.home .td-crumb-container{
display:none!important;
}

That’s an odd choice. When was the last time you saw a homepage that had Breadcrumbs? No website online has it probably.

Are you sure there’s no proper option for removing breadcrumbs on the homepage?

I guess that you are using the Blog layout, right? Notice that the Breadcrumbs is displayed on star page only for Blog Style and that’s why you bring this there, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/G2pCmqTaG If you want to get rid of it from there, you simply use the code above and place it in Custom CSS Box or you can switch the theme to the Homepage (A Static Page). We usually suggest alternative solutions before customizing the theme code. If you do not like the block I suggested you can hide the arrows of the slide block using this code:

Yes it would. Our theme needs the images it creates in order to show the different elements that show posts. What you can do to limit the number of thumbs created is to try not to use too many diverse blocks and modules so you can disable more thumbs from the theme panel: https://www.screencast.com/t/rL4qGGzc Here is a list of thumbs used by our theme and disable the ones you do not use from the theme panel: http://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-theme-thumbs/ Make sure you regenerate thumbs after you change the settings.

The theme does not change the default user roles and capabilities of wordpress, meaning you would still have this issue on a wp default theme. Please be careful what role you give your users as people really enjoy breaking other people’s work once they have access to it. Thanks, but that doesn’t answer my question. Your link explains how to activate the visual composer plugin. Instead, I need to know how to UPDATE the Visual Composer plugin.

Note that updating plugins on Wordpress is VITAL, especially recently with so many security issues and with many websites being hacked or infected with malware.

Please explain how to update the plugin, because your theme is making our website exposed to security issues.

The guide posted above explains exactly how to update the plugin. You simply need to delete it and install it again from the main theme package. You cannot update it automatically like other plugins because it is a free version and only payed versions have automatic updates. Please read the guide above. For the moment we have not included the latest version of the plugin. The latest version we can provide for the moment is 5.0.1. We will include the latest version of visual composer in the next theme update.

We do not know of any existing problem with embeds but it depends on the content you are trying to embed. Please test it on a wp default theme such as twentysixteen and see if the content works fine on a wp default theme. If our theme does not show the content and the default theme does, then please open a new topic on our official support forum at http://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newsmag/ and provide a link to your site and an example of the content you are trying to embed.

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

The API works without the key activation/registration of visual composer. There is no restriction because of the missing key. Maybe you did not create the new block properly. Try out the api plugin that creates the new custom block from this page: http://forum.tagdiv.com/practical-example-how-to-add-a-new-block-and-module/

Please note that the theme api represents customization and you will need coding skills in order to use it.

It seems you customized the code incorrectly. Please note that the theme api requires coding skills. It represents customization and is not covered by the theme support. You will need to get some help from someone code savvy in order to modify the theme code. Our theme api documentation provides basic instructions on how to modify it but you need to know what you are doing so you do not break the theme code.

Our theme modules and blocks will only work with visual composer for the moment. You can use the theme without the plugin but you will not be able to use the theme content blocks on pages.
