You are welcome and thanks for your answers regarding woocommerce and forum plugins.

Unfortunately the fresh builder interface does not work properly. I have asked for a refund, hope I will get it (or that you will find a quick solution to fix this problem. An empty cache in the system settings interface does not change anything to my issue… I even deleted my database and installed again xampp, WordPress and the ark theme, with no change. Bugs and errors are still appearing in the console page).

We have our own solution called Fresh Builder. It’s much more flexible and easier to use in many aspects but we recommend everyone to form their own opinion – if you won’t like it, you can easily get a refund, we are very open and friendly with our users. You can change the menu font, there are several ways to do it – if you would need help doing this, just contact us, ideally via our ticketing system. Regarding sliders, you can use of the many slider plugins or our own nest-able slider elements in Fresh Builder to create your own. We also bundle Revolution Slider for free with Ark.

1.) This is fully in your hosting configuration, Ark is using standard WP Mail function. But you can use Postman SMTP plugin to send it through email address of your choice

2.) In current situation, you can use portfolios or 3rd party galleries. We are developing gallery element, but it will be online in 1 – 2 weeks.

Are you uploading the theme or already installing? If uploading, please try to upload via FTP because some servers have low limits on how big the upload can be. You would need to unzip the “upload-this” ZIP file first though. Then upload the “ark” directory into your ”/wp-content/themes/” directory on your FTP server.

Yes, we needed a more professional tool for efficient supporting and forums are not really suitable for this. We missed things such as metrics, assignments, attachments, tags, internal team notes, etc. With the new ticket system we now have all that and more. For now, the forums are public so you can still browse the old topics but posting new topics has been disabled. If you would like to engage in discussion with other users, please join our Facebook group, there is a few hundreds of Ark users active and they engage in group conversations about all things Ark.

When I try to search and post in your support forums – i get a bad gateway… and there is a big notice saying the forum isn’t in use anymore. I really need to know how to duplicate a portolio page I created and/or save it as a template so I don’t need to recreate it every time.

You could try some “duplicate post” plugin – one of them should work I think, but some can be buggy so you would need to try which one actually works (it’s all free plugins so they can be spotty).

But before you go that route, you can copy/paste the whole canvas to other posts/pages. You can do so by clicking on the “Options” button in the top right corner of the Fresh Builder canvas. This way you can copy content of one portfolio post to the other one and take it from there.

Another neat feature is that you can create a global template in “Ark > Template” and then print it anywhere. But it does not allow you to “duplicate” the template into your page instead of “just print it from remote location” – this is something we want to allow in future updates.

And yet another neat feature is the Sitemap. If you go to “Ark > Sitemap > Portfolio Single” there you can customize the outer wrappers/content of your single portfolio posts. Portfolio category view can be customized at “Ark > Sitemap > Portfolio Archive”. This can help you reduce some repetition from your workflow.

Yes, a lot of elements use our “smart link” feature. It can be set to share the current page upon clicking. You can test it by for example inserting an element called “Icons”. You will find the link options that can share there.

Mobile phones and tablets do not have enough CPU and bandwidth to handle background videos, so background videos for these two are not disabled, but not implemented, because it’s not possible to implement them. You can always use fallback background image, visible only on mobile phone.

Thank you for your feedback and kind words. I can see that you really like Ark which is why you took the time to write down all your thoughts on future improvements – we really appreciate it. Please allow me address them one by one now:

1) MD breakpoint can be visible on tablet only when it is in landscape orientation. This is a default in Bootstrap and it’s pretty much an industry standard at this point in time. Changing this default behaviour could create a lot of potential issues, especially with 3rd party plugins.

2) This is a pretty specific area and one would need to target it with CSS – we can easily assist you with creating such code, just send us a support ticket and our devs will help you set it up.

3) I think that the Header Wrapper is present mainly to allow adding backgrounds. Spacing is controlled via the general header options because there are scripts that calculate with these values.

4) Top Level Icons are search, menu icon and topbar toggle icon. If you want to add icons to your menu items, you can do so via “Appearance > Menus” and change the menu item title to something like this:

5) Menu labels should be vertically center aligned as can be seen on our demo. If that’s not the case for you, we can look into it on your website.

It’s clear that all your points are regarding header customization. While we allow for a lot of customization in the header, more than most of the other themes, we understand that there is always room for improvement. We would love to do a full re-write of headers eventually but that’s something that can take weeks worth of work and we already have some big things in the pipeline so it will take some time before we will be able to start working on it. Header is probably the hardest visible part of a theme to code because there is just so many options and situations you need to account for, using combinatory logic it can be hundreds of scenarios that need to work and be tested. This is also why the pencil tool is not that useful for headers because the headers live their own life as they say. But in the meantime, most of your requirements can be done via CSS/HTML and we offer assistance for simple CSS customizations, just lodge in a support ticket and we will do our best to help you achieve what you have set out.
