Hi guys,
How can I get the video player icon to appear on the ‘recent posts’ shortcode using classic enhanced option?
http://www.52inkicks.com/homepage-test/. Here on this page… the first 6 posts are using the ‘blog’ shortcode, then after the full width section the same 6 posts are using the ‘recent posts’ shortcode.So you can see the two video posts don’t have the black video player icon… how to add it in? And also how to add the category option in the top left hand corner like the ‘blog’ shortcode has?
Hey Sean, the recent posts element doesn’t display the exact format of the real blog, it’s a slightly stripped-down version. You’d need to modify the shortcode to include such in the nectar/tinymce/shortcode-processing.php file

Hi. Everything works great, just one question. Is it possible to have all toggle panels closed when the page loads (as it is right now) but keep the functionality that when you open one panel the opened one (any other) is closed automatically?

Currently, that would require some custom modding as the accordion setting automatically opens the first via javascript – i’ve noted the idea to allow for this on the wishlist though

Hi is it possible to have alternative header and footer for landing pages? I dont want a full menu but I do want the logo to appear and for PPC purposes it is better to have a footer with some links but I dont want the full footer… Is it possible to have alternative header and footer for this purpose? I know you can have templates with no header and footer but this is not exactly what I am looking for.

The only way to achieve this without custom development would be to use those templates and create a custom menu/footer section on the page using the page builder

I’m trying to create a row with 4 columns but the columns are totally touching one another, and i need a gap between them so the shadow effect could be seen.

Another question, i set the header to be transparent, and i turned on header inherit row color. The question is, i have a page with a single black row, but the header starts white, i was expecting it to start black as the row, what am i doing wrong?

Header starts in a light color, instead of the dark color of the page. 2. columns have no gaps so it cannot be seen the shadow effect of every column (8 inner columns with the 8 different milestones)
When i update from V 5.0 to 8.0 — will my whole page be screwed?

There is nothing wrong yet; i just wanted to know if there would be problems, graphical or codewise, if i update from Salient 5 to 8. If not, then i would update our page.

you’re using a page full screen row setup – the transparent header is currently not support on that, but if you turn that off and use the permanent transparent option it will work as shown in the agency demo
Hello again. Do you mind helping me how to style the tabbed content just like the below link? As you will see, there is a clean light grey line right under the 2 tabs and also a highlight (blue line) on the selected tab. I assume this is a css code. It is one of the best Salient theme example websites and I like to use a few of the features they implemented into their web. I would very much appreciate if you could provide the css if it’s required, and also your assistance for my previous queries (regarding the image and pink columns on the same website). It’s not custom CSS – in the tabbed element there’s actually a style called “minimal” which gives this style by default

Hi! Can you pls help me understand how are these 2 columns set? As you will see the image column looks like full background while the pink column is not and there is no space between the columns. I also see they set top and bottom padding for the pink text column but when I can do the top padding I can’t do any padding for the bottom? https://www.senz.com/en/collections/global-playground/

It’s a full width content setup, one column has a BG image set and the other column has a row inside of the column, they set padding on the second column to give it the space. The pink BG and content are set in the column inside of the row within the column

I am not happy, as you state that the theme is multilingual. In other comments you say that one should use the WPML plugin – which COSTS 79$ EXTRA + ADDITIONAL YEARLY COSTS! This is a bigger cost than the theme ?? How is it possible to implement 2 languages without having to invest double the money please, so how can I have 2 languages for FREE ?

The theme states it is “translation ready” – from the theme descriptions “Salient includes the .po/.mo files and is ready to be translated into your desired language.”
You can translate it using any free software you’d like such as https://poedit.net/ . Having a multilingual setup, where multiple languages are offered that can be switched on the fly is more advanced and would require a WordPress plugin. I have no affiliation with WPML and only recommend them because they’re the standard in the business. You can try any free multilingual plugin you’d like, I just haven’t tested with them

Which row are you seeing cut off? The only row i’m seeing which has enough content for a scrollbar is the second, and the scrollbar is visible. Could you let me know which browser you’re using?

Here’s what I see in chrome https://goo.gl/EF5nme and here’s what I see in Safari https://goo.gl/B29VJd on my 27inch iMac…I see the scrollbar now that you mentioned it, guess it was hard to notice, however if the user just uses their mouse to scroll down it just goes to the next section. In addition to the bottom portion being cutoff you’ll notice the top navigation disappears in this section and the basic text logo overlaps overlaps the content. What browser and resolution are you viewing it in that everything looks ok?
Oh sorry to answer your original question—I’m seeing row 2 cutoff it’s the “Investors” section.
If I’m using the “Business” demo from the last release and now I’ve upgraded to Salient 8 will I be able to see the templates? I see the new 150 templates listed, but I don’t see the preview photos. Should I get the latest visual composer? If so, how?

You just need to update your version of the Salient VC – this can be done in the plugins section of your admin panel

Hello – client loves the theme! I am trying to change the color of the mobile ‘bars’ that make the menu slide out. They are white and so is the background of the header bar so the menu does not show up. Client wants the header bar to stay white and the 3 bars that symbolize the menu to be blue.

I’m currently not seeing your mobile menu icon display at all, not just because it’s a white color. The plugin you’re using “VC Icon Box” seems to be removing it

Thanks for the response! When I click there with my thumb you can see a box that must be the menu because then it drops down a menu. I tried disabling the VC plugin and even deleted it with no luck. Thoughts on this?
