Just bought, installed and downloaded and installed demo but the Home page doesn’t look anything like the demo as there is no parallax image motion. How do i set the home page exactly as the demo as that is why I bought this theme?

Unfortunately, Food & Cook theme doesn’t have feature to setup different background image for different pages. You only can set global background image for all pages.
i had purchase this template but im unable to change homepage banner if was pre downloaded from demo version
hi can you share your website url? its either via metabox or shortcode but i need to check it to be sure. (or search rev in your page editor to detect them.)

2. that’s weird, did you use labomba theme previously? please try to unassign your current logo and then clear server cache. after that please reupload your logo. (if problem still persist you can also send your admin panel acces to email above)

hi you wont lose the custom css and theme option setting when updating the theme. but you will lose it when you change from parent to child.
so please use it with caution.
But I can use a child-theme and place back custom css after theme-update in its previous position? I would like to use a child-theme because I have modified several php-data. I have translated several words in German.
yes, you can backup the custom css and add it to child theme but as food & cook doesnt have import export feature you may need to replicate the theme options setting in the child theme.

hi thanks for contacting us. unfortunately its not possible to do that as the layout is based to the image grid. but if you only want to disable it in the single post, we can use custom css to hide it.

Love the look of your theme but I have a few questions before I buy, hope that’s OK.
1. I would like a homepage with just the slider plus either the recipe grid or the blog grid as the main content, is it possible to exclude everything else? Also, are each grids set to show 6 items each or can I choose the number of items?
2. Do the recipe grid boxes have to link to a recipe page or can I use a custom url?
3. Are the reviews hard-coded into the site or can I turn them off? I have no use for them…
4. Same thing with the shopping cart, can I remove that as well?

1. you can customize the content of your homepage using the shortcodes. in short you can display slider + blog/recipe in the home (number of blog post/recipe is up to you, but no pagination)
2. it can only link to a single recipe post (automatically)
3. you can turn it off.
4. yes you dont need to install woocommerce to hide the shop features.

Hi, WooCommerce is complaining about outdated templates with this theme. I attempted to use your support system, but the registration email never gets sent. Below are the issues: food-cook/woocommerce/content-product.php version 2.6.1 is out of date. The core version is 3.0.0, food-cook/woocommerce/loop/add-to-cart.php version 2.5.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.0.0, food-cook/woocommerce/loop/result-count.php version 2.0.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.0.0, food-cook/woocommerce/single-product/up-sells.php version 1.6.4 is out of date. The core version is 3.0.0
I can’t afford for the site to break so I’d like to know when another update will be available. I already updated to the version dropped on 4/4/17 and those warnings persist.

hi yes, woocommerce released another update after we updated the theme. we are preparing another update to fix the outdated template issue. in the meantime please downgrade your woocommerce to 3.0.0 first.

Hi, Emails are still not working with the new theme version and latest WooCommerce. I receive error “could not instantiate mail function”. Everything worked fine before the original updates. Any idea what’s going on? I cannot fix this. Thanks.
hi just tested the email service and its working fine in my test server, it may caused by your server or setup, see: https://wordpress.org/support/topic-tag/could-not-instantiate-mail-function/ or try to deactivate plugins that doesnt come from the theme.

Hi, yes it’s possible, first you need to change the slug first on Food – Cook > includes > admin > functions > functions-post-type.php
on line 109 change the recipe-items to be recipe, after you save it, go to dashboard the flush the permalink by change the permalink type to another the set back to the default you have

That’s a shame about the slug as I moved from a normal blog and have lost all my fb comments and social shares even though I set 301’s, do you know of a solution to recover them?

1. we have category archive so when you add the recipes to a certain category you will have a page contain those recipes http://dahz.daffyhazan.com/food-cook/ingredient/bread/
2.you may need to add custom css for this as we dont have option to control it.
