Hi, 2 questions:

1. The default body text size seems on the small size at 13px. Is it relatively straightforward to update that to something a bit larger (like 16px). Obviously you include the CSS. I just didn’t know if there are a lot of dependencies or places I’d need to update it at.

2. For the main navigation I see you have dropdowns as well as 3 column versions. All of which are fairly simple text links. Do you have any versions with more elaborate mega-menu style options (maybe with images/promos, etc.)

Hi there,

1. Yes you could override the default font size in your custom.css by targeting body,p,span,ul{ font-size: 16px; }

2. Not in Foundry, these types of menus are present in our theme ‘Stack’

Cheers,

Craig

Probably dumb question… is using Variant an optional thing? I’m not super familiar with what it is or how it works. All I’m needing is raw HTML source that I can then split up into my CMS templates. So I just wanted to be sure that this theme isn’t using some sort of proprietary Variant specific markup that would make it difficult to use the raw HTML.

Yes, using Variant is totally optional. Foundry is a traditional HTML template first and foremost – Variant is included in the package to help speed up some aspects of assembling pages. You can still use Foundry as pure HTML.

James

Perfect! That’s what I thought. I just wanted to make sure and end up with a situation where I buy something like a Wordpress theme and expect it to be regular HTML.

No problem, we’re always here to help if you need. Just open a ticket at http://mediumrare.ticksy.com

James

Hi Medium Rare… another thing I am having difficulty with is getting the latest updates widget to work. How does one get the twitter feed to work correctly?

Hi James – I would submit a ticket but your ticketing system appears to be broken. Keeps looping to submit a ticket.

Hi,

Apologies that you are having trouble with the support system at ticksy.com. Please email us at support [at] mrare.co .

If you can provide your code or a link to an online demo we’ll be able to help you better.

James

FYI: we have not yet received an email regarding this support issue.

How can I use the email form to send a message to multiple email recipients? I tried adding a second address separated with a comma in the mail.php file but I doesn’t work.

Hi, we’ve got a solutions for this, it involves some additional code in mail_sender.php to add a Cc recipient.

Please open a ticket at http://mediumrare.ticksy.com and we’ll fill you in with the required code.

What is the font used for the FOUNDRY logo? On the app theme

Hi there, That’s called Brandon Grotesque

can i use variant to edit a html page built with variant?

Yes, you need to export it as a .variant file to reimport it and edit it in Variant

is it possible to add a font to the variant builder? want to add playfair display

Hi there,

No you’d need to add a font after you export to HTML.

Thanks, Craig

Hi Guys, I bought the HTML version instead than the WP by mistake. Damn me…. Can you please help me out? Would you be so kind to deduct the HTML cost to the WP version purchase? I would be really grateful. Thank you

Hi there,

We can’t deduct the cost of the WP version from our side, but if you purchase the WP version, then open a refund request on the HTML version, just supply the WP purchase code in the request.

Cheers, Craig

html5 video in a modal .the audio keeps playing after a modal is closed can you advise how this can be corrected so when the model is closed the video stops please

Hi there,

Would you mind opening a ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com so we can support there with code snippets etc.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi there.. is there a way to have the transparent nav at the top of the page change to a solid colour when the page is scrolled down? I would be happy to pay for support if this is possible and if you could help me achieve this. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Basing our response on the menu seen on this page: http://foundry.mediumra.re/home-agency.html# Would you say that you want to see no logo when the page loads, but show the logo (as seen on that page) on the menu when the user scrolls down?

In that case you could apply some custom css to target the logo in the original nav and then show it in the nave when scrolled.

In that case you’d do it like this:

nav:not(.fixed) .logo{ display: none; }

Cheers, James

Thanks James. Spot on.

No worries :)

I am liking Foundry very much, however I have run into an issue. I am trying to use scrolling javascript for links linking to areas on the same page. The “Top” button, for example, has the class “inner-link” which I believe is to facilitate the scrolling script, but it doesn’t work. It doesn’t work on the Foundry example on themeforest either. Is there something else I need to do to get this functionality? Thank you

posted twice

Now that I have messed with it a while I see the true problem. The inner-link function works part of the time. For example, if I keep clicking the same link, sometimes it will scroll to the part of the page and sometimes it will jump. It seems to be random. Why is this?

Hi there,

As you are probably aware, our support system is down at the moment. Could you please email support [at] mrare.co with a link to your live site and we’ll take up the support request on email.

James

Hi, trying to leave a support ticket but get an error. On the portfolio grid, Id like to use two categories for some items. How can I manage this? Thanks

Hi there,

You can add both categories into the ‘data-filter’ attribute separated by a space.

Cheers, Craig

Hi guys, Great work on this theme, a couple of questions. I haven’t been able to find the blocks for login/shopping/cart/checkout in variant to replicate what you have in your demos, am I missing anything? I see the demos in the download package but not as an option to add them.

Bug report: the slim footer doesn’t allow the text to be edited only saved.

Any help on this would be appreciated, keep up the great work! :)

Hi there,

The blocks for shopping cart etc. are not available inside the builder as the components used to build those sections are not suited to the builder.

You can still use those pages in pure HTML of course.

Thanks for the report on the slim footer, we’ll take a look into this.

Cheers, Craig

Hey Craig

Thanks for the response, is there a place where I can find the steps that you guys used to create/replicate those pages? I’m interested in replicating that functionality.

Alex

Hi Alex,

You should just be able to use those pages as they are correct? If you open those pages in a text editor you’ll find all the markup used to create the page. Or perhaps I’ve misunderstood something…

Thanks for the clarification, Craig

bug report: if you create a menu, create new pages with this menu, then modify the menu (remove an entry), then save / download the html result, the menu is not updated in all the pages

Hi, Thanks for the report.

The workaround for this is to load your pages one-by-one and export each as the menu will load in when you load the page.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

James

This theme only lacks a simple way to write blog entries. I really like the concept of Instagram feeds (don’t touch the website to include contents, just do it from your phone, more handy? impossible!), so what about doing the same for BLOG? Like a simple feed to read the posts from a tumblr account, that could be perfect! :)

Hi there,

This is an HTML template, so there is no built-in blog functionality, the intention is for your to integrate the blog layouts with your chosen blogging service. If you require an all-in-one blogging solution with Foundry, the WordPress theme is the better option.

Thanks,

Craig

My slider is not working? In addition i dont really dont follow how to configure it

Hi there,

Thanks for purchasing Foundry!

Please open a ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com for support.

Cheers, Craig

Hi, I tried to submit a ticket but for some reason my item purchase code isn’t being accepted?

So, I’m posting it here:

On Adding certain blocks via WP, I’m getting silly amounts of padding and on changing some settings such as “Section Padding” in Row Settings, nothing really changes enough to tighten everything up.

I’ve attached a couple of screen shots of where the padding just isn’t consistent. For example, the top may look about 60px padding and the bottom looks like 200px

Is there a way to set/override all rows to have the same amounts of padding throughout the theme?

Any suggestions?

Cheers Martin

Hi there Martin,

You’ve made this comment on the HTML version if Foundry, the HTML and WordPress versions of the theme are maintained by different authors, you can access the WordPress support forum here: tommusrhodus.ticksy.com

Cheers,

Craig

Hi I just bought this and used builder to build a page. I downloaded the HTML, works fine. I then significantly modified the page in builder and tried to download the HTML again but it seems like the previous HTML page keeps getting downloaded. How do I resolve this? I just poured about 2 hours of work and I am not sure if I can download the recent changes. Thanks kindly!

Crap, lost my work :/

Hi, Apologies for the inconvenience while using Variant. Please open a ticket at http://mediumrare.ticksy.com and we’ll do what we can to debug the issue with you there.

James

Pre-Purcahe question. Do you offer PSDs for all designs? Thank you.

Hi,

Not for all of the pages included in Foundry. We have base style PSDs if they are of any use to you, however the design may differ slightly as changes were made throughout the development process.

James

I have a question:

I want to know if it’s possible to upload to my server the variant builder with the intention to edit the same website that is in the same ftp.

Example:

mywebsite.com/variantbuilder In this url i edit the website and download the files when i finished. When it’s all done i upload files from my desktop to the good url: mywebsite.com

Do you understand what i want to do?

Thanks,

Short answer: Not really… However you can work around it.

Variant does not yet include a feature to allow publishing directly to an FTP server. Variant can export HTML files, but they would need to be manually uploaded each time you edit.

Moreover, Variant stores all data in the local browser. However, you can export a .variant file from your browser and store that on your hosting server which you can later download manually and import on any machine to continue editing your existing files. If you run Variant from your server environment, the img folder will be kept current as your images will be already copied to the hosting server.

Hope this answers your question.

James

Hello got a quick question before I purchase. Can anyone help, please? I’m trying the builder and using Video > HTML5 Video Slider. It gives me options for the MP4 file which is great, however, is it possible to stream directly from Youtube video rather than host the MP4 on the server? Or is there another slider that does that?

Hi there,

The slider is set up to work with local videos, the Youtube background elements can be viewed here: http://foundry.mediumra.re/elements-video-bg.html

Cheers, Craig

Ahhh thats perfect – thats what I need. So I would just copy and past that code into the site rather than use the builder right?

If the block is not available in the builder, yes you just copy that code to the page you’re working on.
