There is info on https://themeforest.net/item/river-retina-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/6059307 under Update History about River Version 1.9 – August 16th, 2018
But when I download from downloads section on themeforest I get 1.8.1 version. In my Wordpress installation I’ve 1.8.1 installed and also Envato Market plugin installed and authorized for updates. It also can’t see that there is 1.9 version.

We have tested our themes with WP 5.0 and everything is working fine. Gutenberg became the official WordPress editor from WordPress version 5.0. Hello, I’m sorry but I installed your theme in a wordpress 4.9 and the WPBakery Page Editor is now working fine. In wordpress 5.0, we don’t have WPBakery Page Editor so that administration is only with “code”. I’ll send you it in https://qode.ticksy.com. Thank you.

Has anyone else had any issues with the newest (8-16-18) update to RIVER? I tried installing it today using the instructions I’ve used successfully for several previous updates, and my whole SITE suddenly disappeared. My provider is trying to restore the site from the ground up from yesterday’s data. Is there anything in the theme update that could wreak such havoc? I’d like to keep the theme updated if possible.

Hello! I am sure this is an elementary level issue but I am making changes to the theme on the dashboard but nothing seems to be happening. I am sure it has something to do with the demo being loaded but I have no idea how to turn it off :/

Hello Qode, I was very satisfied using this theme. A few days ago i found that River doesen’t load the page content on my www.aicisoltre.it when clicking from the menu but if I reload the page the content is OK. I have read comments area, upgrade the theme and vp-bakery but i was not able to fix this issue. Do I have to renew the support or is it a known issue? Thank you so mouch. fancesco

This seems like a plugin conflict between some of your plugins and theme AJAX page transitions. Page transitions create nice effects when navigating through website. When transitions are turned on, header and footer are not reloaded, only content get reloaded. This can cause issues mostly with some plugins because they demand their scripts to be loaded in header or footer and they are not. If you happen to experience this later on while you are developing your site, note that first thing to do is to turn off page transitions.
Page transitions can be turned off from:
1. general options Qode Options > Global options
2. local options (when you edit your pages), note that these settings will overwrite global settings from Qode Options for specific page
3. Also you can turn off page transitions for specific pages by writing page URLs from Qode options > Global options > List of internal URLs loaded without AJAX (separated with comma)

Thank you for your support, This solves my issue. I have tried to do this before writing this comment, but perhaps something gone wrong. I think this is a very good theme indeed i have had the opportunity to animate a lot of single elements in the page so the effect is very nice even if i have disabled global transition. Thank you

Will there be a new release for this theme as I just tried to upgrade to Wordpress 4.9.1 and the visual composer element stops working, It works fine in Version 4.8.4. This seems to be a problem with older versions of Visual Composer as the newer version in your Bridge theme works fine. Please advise.

Latest theme version Bridge 13 have Visual Composer 5.4.4 which works fine with latest WordPress. Please update the theme and VC plugin to latest versions. There appears to an issue with Visual Composer plugin in River Version 5.2 and WordPress 4.8.1 which is a security update. The issue relates to the Style scroll down menu not allowing changes when in backend editor mode. This is resolved when switching back to Classic editor mode can you advise when you will release an update to resolve this matter.

Video background is not supported on vast majority of mobile devices (no video on mobile), so it is important to provide Video Preview Image for Qode Slider video slides (it will be shown on touch devices and when video is loading on PCs/laptops). Also it is important to provide all three (webm, mp4, ogv) video formats (fallback) since some browsers (PCs/laptops) can only play certain type of video. You can convert your videos online – http://video.online-convert.com/
If you need to have video slider on mobile too, then you can consider using Revolution Slider plugin which is bundled with the theme, and to use YouTube video in it.

Hello, I see other’s have also requested this – for the Image Hover element, it would be really helpful if it could link to an new tab/window. This is an excellent way to highlight partner/sponsor logos, however, I then want to link to their external URLs in a new tab. Please let me know if you’d consider adding this to an update.
Also, for the portfolio image hover function, if the lightbox is disabled, it would be ideal if the entire image could link to the portfolio. Is this something you’d consider adding?

I have a problem with the portfolio section, when I try to upload a new portfolio image in the image input text box, the image will not show anywhere, as the portfolio image was a blank one. When I click the “Insert into entry” button it just takes me back to the Edit Portfolio Item page without placing the url of the image in the image text input.

It seems to happen in all image text inputs, in title image for post and pages, I clicked on the upload file button, choose the image, then I pressed insert into entry but then nothing shows up, it’s as the image wont place itselfin the text input, so It wont display anything.

1. Anchors can be set as menu items to trigger the scroll-to functionality. There are two ways of creating anchors in menu.
Creating an anchor item on a multi-page website: Add a page as a menu item and expand options for that menu item. Enter the Anchor ID of a Row section you want the menu item to scroll to without the leading hash symbol (#) in the field labeled Anchor
or
Add a Custom link with the full URL to a specific page and with desired navigation label. E.g. http://www.example.com/some-page/#anchor
Creating an anchor item on a one-page website: Add a Custom Link and enter the Anchor ID with the leading hash symbol (#) in the field labeled URL.

Hi, I really like this theme and just bought it for our company’s website. But due to our products we want to show not only our portfolio but also the toolbox and technologies we are using. Is there any way I can create new custom type, for example, “technologies” and use portfolio shorcode to display them? I have the same question with the blog, as we wish to have a different type “News” which share the same layouts, templates, etc. with blog. I look forward to your reply. Thank you!

Option for creating custom post types out of the box does not exsit, and we are registering post types from within the theme. Adding additional custom post types dynamically can be achieved with some plugins if you are not familiar with programming but these plugins can use a lot of server resources and can slow down your site especially if you are going to have a lot of visitors. As an alternative we can suggest you to use different portfolio categories, and then to show only specific categories on different pages with portfolio list element http://screencast.com/t/sGjNPzg2 so on three different pages you can disaply three different portfolio categories.

Thank you for quick reply! That sounds like a quick and easy fix. But I have another question regarding the URL. Right now the url for the child portfolio is /portfolio_page/child. It doesn’t look very nice and more importantly not good for URL SEO also. How can I change URL to just portfolio/child? And if I use the categorization feature like you recommended, how can I change the URL for “technology” portfolio? I just wish to use mywebsite.com/technologies, instead of mywebsite.com/portfolio/technologies

Custom post types can have only one slug. In this case it is set as portfolio_page and if you wish to change it you can do so from theme folder / functions.php file.
