Question regarding the revolution slider: I used your template and customized it. However, when viewing on a mobile device the slider does not appear to be responsive. I tried to log into the behavior setting but it appears to be locked. How do I change the slider to be responsive?
You can enable the Custom Grid Sizes so you can set different styles for each screen size. You can find more details here: https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-setup/#custom-grid-sizes
Hi Wyde,
Installed WP/theme on sub-directories of main site: Main site: myokosnowsports.com Sub1: myokosnowsports.com/akakura Sub2: myokosnowsports.com/arai
All has been working fine for several weeks and then a couple of days ago the main hero Rev Slider at myokosnowsports.com/akakura stopped appearing when the page is loaded. If I hard reload it then appears, but not under normal load.
Have check settings, tried changing them, saving, then changing back to originals and saving again but no luck.
/arai is continuing to work fine.
Any ideas much appreciated!
Thanks, Tom
There was a script error on your site. It’s a Slider Revolution’s script conflict issue. Make sure you’ve purged all caches after you update the Slider Revolution plugin. Also, try to disable your cache plugin to see if it works.
Thanks for reply. Slider Rev came packaged with theme. Standard way to update it not available, says ‘Update through Theme”. How to do this?
I already had WP Super Cache disabled, so not sure this would have affected it?
Thanks.
You don’t need to update the Slider Revolution plugin, you’re using the latest update that’s included in the theme.
Actually, it’s a WP Rocket plugin that compressed your script files. You will need to regenerate all minify files or disable it to see if it works.
If it doesn’t work, try to deactivate your plugins one by one to find the problematic plugin.
Cleared WP Rocket cache and it seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the support!
Glad to hear that the problem has been resolved
In “Theme Options” I set a custom “Portfolio Slug”, however, It is not changed when I access de portfolio page, where the Slug remains “Portfolio-Item”. Why?
Try to update the permalink settings to see if it works. Go to Settings -> Permalinks, select Post name and save changes.
I updated permalink, however nothing changed.
Apology! This is a bug of the theme. Thank you for reporting this issue. We will fix it in the next update.
there is no translation option to “Related Projects” in language files, need to change custom-funtions.php or search in db, please add to translation files in next ver.
You can set the text “Related Posts” in the Theme Options -> Blog, so it is not included in the POT file. However, if you’re working on a multi-language site you can translate it by using a translation plugin. If you’re using WPML plugin, you will find it in Strings Translation section.
I have Vela version 1.4.9 installed and I think it is conflicting with Visual composer as I can’t edit any text boxes in Visual Composer anymore. Can you tell me if I purchase the theme and support again if there is a way to update the theme without loosing the styling that we have entered? Do I just install the new files as a theme or is there a way to update the theme? Thanks for the help.
korosunresort.com is where the theme is being used.
That issue has been fixed in the latest update of this theme. Don’t worry, the theme updating won’t affect your current data and settings.
The easiest way to update the theme is using Envato Market plugin so you can download and automatically install the theme from your WordPress admin. You can find more details on how to use the Envato Market plugin in our documentation.
However, if you have made changes to any files in the theme folder directly, your changes will be lost when you update the theme. If you’d like to edit any PHP template files, you will meed to do it via your child theme.
@franzmb is my employee. Help me with this: My original Vela Theme hasn’t been working in Chrome Browser. So that you click on primary menu links and nothing happens (no scroll actions in the one page layout). This is my purchase account.
This is a bug of the scrollTo jQuery plugin on Chrome. It has been fixed in the latest update of this theme. You will need to update the theme to fix this issue.
Help! My original Vela Theme hasn’t been working in Chrome Browser. So that you click on primary menu links and nothing happens (no scroll actions in the one page layout).
This issue has been fixed in the latest update of this theme. Also, in the future please contact us from the account that purchased this theme to make sure you’re currently in the correct product page that corresponds to what you have purchased.
Hello! I have updated my site to the latest version of vela and it’s plugin,unfortunately, the slider revolutions seems not working fine, before, I can setup the slider in pages > home > page settings then select the banner and now I cant show it. Please help.Thanks
The latest update of this theme comes with the new page settings. All settings are included in the Vela Options box at the bottom of the page edit screen. You can set the slider in Vela Options -> Page -> Show Slider and then choose a slider to display on the page.
Also, you can add it to the row directly by using Visual Composer.
Hi! I try to set my slider revolution in Vela Options box and I also try to add it to the row by using the Visual Composer but its not showing on my Landing Page. Also, I try to use a carousel slider plugin using short code but its not working.
Thanks for the help.
There may be a plugin conflict on your site because it seems to work fine on our demo. If you’ve other plugins installed, try to deactivate them to see if it works. If this doesn’t work, please provide me your site URL and admin login in the contact form: https://themeforest.net/user/wyde#contact
I try deactivating plugin one by one but it’s still not working. I sent you my site URL and Admin Login already.
Thank you!
Thank you for your site credentials!
There are JavaScript errors on your site. This causes other scripts including slider script didn’t work correctly.
It’s included in your custom scripts in Theme Options -> Advanced -> Head Content. It is a ‘doc.generate_login_btn();’ in the line number 50. That function is not available in your scripts since you’ve commented it out.
I just commented that line out and everything seems to work now.
Also, after you edit that script, please don’t forget to purge your server cache or disable your cache plugin.
Hi there,
My portfolio starting acting up after updating to last Vela version. The portfolio grid shows pictures with correct info on hover, but when clicking to navigate to view a portfolio page – I get page not found. When I clone a portfolio post and preview it, it shows correctly, but after publishing, link shows ‘Page not found’. Example: https://miatosf.com/portfolio-item/portfolio-podcast-breakdown/. Please help. Thanks! Yoni Shechter
Nevermind – I flushed Permalinks and that solved it!
It’s good to hear that you’ve figured it out! Sure, you can update the permalink settings to flush the permalinks when it says ‘Page not found’.
Hi, I already wrote a message about a problem with a web site i did for a customer with your theme Vela. Basically doesn’t work the linking of the main menu.
I forgot to tell you that i receive an email from WordPress in which they told me that they upgraded automatically to WordPress 4.7.6.
How may I solve this problem?
Thanks so much in advance,
You will need to update the theme and all bundled plugins to the latest update to fix the link issue. Also, we would recommend you to update your WordPress site to the latest version too (4.8.2).
I bought this theme 1 year ago. I made a web site for a customer. I don’t know why now the menu stopped working, if I click on the link doesn’t work. I send you the link to the web page just to show you whats happend.
http://www.toast-machine.com/Thanks in advance,
This is a bug of the theme with the new update of Chrome. You will need to update the theme and all bundled plugins to the latest update to solve this issue.
Is it me or the section “Gallery option” in a Portfolio post is missing in the 2.0 update?
Also digging into another new problem I found that in line 82-85 in /header.php you wrote if( is_single() ){ if( get_post_meta( $wyde_page_id, ‘_meta_post_custom_title’, true ) != ‘on’ ){ $wyde_title_area = ‘show1’; } }
but you don’t seems to use the “_meta_post_custom_title” anymore so any new Protofolio item created always have the title showing overwriting the hide/show option. Maybe I’m wrong but those line should be gone, otherwise the option show/hide is not useful?
My apologies! This is a bug of the theme. Actually, the Title Area options in the portfolio edit screen should be the same as the one in the post edit screen.
Thank you for reporting this issue, we will fix it in the next update.
Anyway, if you’d like you can fix it right now. Edit the file “inc/metaboxes/portfolio-options.php” in the Vela theme folder as below:
Insert new field called “Custom Title Area” after the “Title Area” so you will have the code like below:
$title_options = new_cmb2_box( array(
'id' => 'title_options',
'title' => __( 'Title Area', 'Vela' ),
'icon' => 'dashicons dashicons-feedback',
'object_types' => array('portfolio'),
) );
$title_options->add_field( array(
'id' => $prefix . 'post_custom_title',
'name' => __( 'Custom Title Area', 'Vela' ),
'desc' => __( 'Select this option to customize the title area for this post.', 'Vela' ),
'type' => 'checkbox'
) );
And what about the section “Gallery option” in a Portfolio post. It’s missing isn’t it?
I’m sorry, this is a bug of the theme and it will be fixed in the next update too.
To work around this issue, you can add the function below to Theme Functions (functions.php) in your child theme:
function vela_admin_css(){
echo '<style type="text/css">
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-media-info,
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-embed-url,
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-gallery-info,
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-gallery-images{
display: block;
}
</style>';
}
add_action('admin_head', 'vela_admin_css');
Your last Version 2.0.1 did not include this fix… Also this fix seems to break the images.. I only see image number for old images and when we add a new image it’s not showing in the protfolio page. Could you advise what is the problem?
It is included in the metabox CSS file so you won’t fine it in functions.php like a quick fix I provided. Once you update the theme, you should delete that code from functions.php in your child theme.
Also, if those options do not show up try to clear your browser caches and refresh your browser to see if it works.
If it still doesn’t work, please provide me your site credentials in the contact form: https://themeforest.net/user/wyde#contact
I’ve removed the fix in the function.php file but the problem is still present. The way I see it the problem is located in those lines in metabox.css
/* Options */ .cmb2-id—meta-link-info, .cmb2-id—meta-post-link, .cmb2-id—meta-quote-info, .cmb2-id—meta-post-quote, .cmb2-id—meta-post-quote-author, .cmb2-id—meta-post-sidebar-position, #cmb2-metabox-title_options .cmb-row, .cmb2-id—meta-header-text-style, .cmb2-id—meta-sidebar-name{ display: none; }
cmb2-metabox-title_options .cmb-row.cmb2-id—meta-post-custom-title,
cmb2-metabox-title_options .cmb-row.cmb2-id—meta-title{
display: block; }
.post-type-wyde_portfolio .cmb2-id—meta-media-info, .post-type-wyde_portfolio .cmb2-id—meta-embed-url, .post-type-wyde_portfolio .cmb2-id—meta-gallery-info, .post-type-wyde_portfolio .cmb2-id—meta-gallery-images{ display: block; }
Shouldn’t the last lines be:
cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-media-info,
cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-embed-url,
cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-gallery-info,
cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-gallery-images{
display: block; }
When I change them to those lines it is showing without any problem.
Finally like I said the image do not show up in the portfolio post itself. I’ve looked at the information saved in the database to try to locate the error and the metadata saved is quite different:
WORKING meta: VALUES (“2098”, “4317”, “_meta_gallery_images”, “a:2:{i:4501;s:4:\”4501\”;i:4500;s:4:\”4500\”;}”);
NON-WORKING meta VALUES(“2117”, “4322”, “meta_gallery_images”, “a:2:{i:5333;s:89:\”FULL_URL_OF_MY_IMAGE.jpg\”;i:5332;s:89:\”FULL_URL_OF_MY_SECOND_IMAGE.jpg\”;}”);
Any idea how to fix that?
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-media-info,
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-embed-url,
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-gallery-info,
.post-type-portfolio .cmb2-id--meta-gallery-images{
display: block;
}
Regarding the gallery images issue, this is a bug of the theme also. We’ve updated a Metabox library to CMB2 (v2.0.7) in Vela 2.0. Unfortunately, the metadata of images field in the Gallery Options has been changed so it won’t work when you choose new images and update your portfolio post.
To fix this issue, you will need to edit the single portfolio template file “single-portfolio.php” as below:
Replace:
<?php if(is_array($images)): ?>
<?php foreach($images as $image_id): ?>
<?php $image_thumb = wp_get_attachment_image_src($image_id, $image_size); ?>
<li class="<?php echo $item_col;?>">
<?php
$image_full = wp_get_attachment_image_src($image_id, $lightbox_size );
?>
<a href="<?php echo esc_url( $image_full[0] );?>" rel="prettyPhoto[portfolio]">
<img src="<?php echo esc_url( $image_thumb[0] ); ?>" alt="<?php echo esc_attr( get_the_title() ); ?>" />
</a>
</li>
<?php endforeach; ?>
<?php endif; ?>
With:
<?php if(is_array($images)): ?>
<?php foreach( $images as $image_id => $image_url ): ?>
<li class="<?php echo $item_col;?>">
<?php $image_full = wp_get_attachment_image_src($image_id, $lightbox_size ); ?>
<a href="<?php echo esc_url( $image_full[0] );?>" rel="prettyPhoto[portfolio]">
<?php echo wp_get_attachment_image($image_id, $image_size); ?>
</a>
</li>
<?php endforeach; ?>
<?php endif; ?>
Thank you for reporting these issues. They will be fixed in the next update.
For your information the fix for the image not displaying is working. On the other hand the fix for the CSS is still wrong.
I can fix it with this: #cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-media-info, #cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-embed-url, #cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-gallery-info, #cmb2-metabox-portfolio_options .cmb2-id—meta-gallery-images{ display: block; }
Thank you for the valuable information you provided. I’m not sure why the CSS I provided doesn’t work on your site but it does on ours.
Anyway, we will add the CSS you provided in the next update so you can normally update the theme without losing your changes.
Hi Wyde,
Thanks for previous support. Just updated Vela Theme to 2.0. Am also using Vela Child.
Rev Slider displaying correctly on desktop, but no Slider visible on mobile device. Main Slider at page top and also second Slider (single image) in Footer both not visible on mobile. https://myokosnowsports.comAny suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks, Tom
There are script errors on your site. Make sure you’ve purged all caches after updating the theme. If it still doesn’t work, try to deactivate plugins one by one to find the problematic plugin.
I’m using the one page business option and the menu is non-responsive in Chrome. When clicking on a menu item in the header, nothing happens. It shoudl scroll down to the page. The “Page up” arrow is also non-responsive. I have tried different header layouts too, same issue. Works fine with Firefox and IE though.
This is a bug of the ScrollTo jQuery plugin (that’s included in this theme) with the new update of Chrome. Thank you for reporting this issue, we will release the new update of this theme ASAP!
Any ETA for PHP 7.1 support?
We will release the new update that is compatible with PHP 7.1 in a couple of days.
hi, do this theme still work for wordpress latest version? because it seem like no more update after 2016 december
Sure, this theme is compatible with the latest update of WordPress (4.8.2). Actually, our demo sites are running on WordPress 4.8.2 too: http://wydethemes.com/vela1/
thanks wyde, and will your theme have update soon?
We will release the next update in a couple of days.
okay thanks
Hi again! Thanks for your help with the previous issue I was having. I am now struggling with visual composer – I can’t access any of the templates, apparently I need to “activate” my copy, but as you mentioned before I shouldn’t have to do that with the updated theme. Can you help me with that?
Hi,
Unfortunately, this theme comes with custom content elements so the default templates from Visual Composer might not work properly with this theme. We would recommend you to use the predefined templates from the theme instead. You can import demo content in Theme Options -> Home so you will get all predefined pages like you see on our demo sites.
Hi, i d like to buy this theme, but the last update is from 2016… Is it still supported, will there be an update to Wordpress 4.8 / newest visual composer / woocommerce? Thanks
Actually it is still supported and is also compatible with WordPress 4.8.
However, we would recommend you to take a look at our new themes also, they all come with more features, more content elements, more demos, and much more.
Here are some items I would recommend: Aoraki: https://themeforest.net/item/aoraki-multiconcept-business-wordpress-theme/19652714Of course all of our new themes can build any websites look like the Vela theme since all features and content elements from Vela are included in our new themes too.
As you know, the Vela theme was released since 2015. When we’re talking about the web technology, the newer is the better
Thanks for your response. How about a special Shop Template (Woocommerce)? I dont see that the two you proposed are a special woocommerce template…
Both themes are compatible with the latest update of WooCommerce plugin, they come with clean and minimal shop template. Support both full width and boxed layout with left and right sidebars as you can see in our demos below:
Full Width layout: https://wydethemes.com/aoraki/shop/I purchased the paid version of Visual Composer (the free version was with the Vela template) and was told by Visual Composer that the license tab has been disabled by the theme author. Can you tell me what I need to change and where to get this license tab back?
Thanks
The Visual Composer plugin is included in this theme, you can normally use it without registering your license code. That option is to enable the auto-update feature but you don’t need it because it actually needs to be updated by the theme author to make sure it will be compatible with the current update of the theme. If the auto-update feature is disabled, it will also remove the license tab from the settings page and you couldn’t get it back.
I want to use the new version of visual composer so I can use add-on’s for it. How do I get the license tab back? I do not see a option for auto update.
I’m sorry but some content elements from Visual Composer are disabled by default because they are not included in the theme design and features, you couldn’t get them back even if you install the new version of that plugin and register the product code. We would recommend you to use custom elements from this theme instead. Also, the auto update of that plugin is disabled since it was packed with the theme. The latest compatible version of Visual Composer is 5.0.1 as you can see in the product details: https://themeforest.net/item/vela-responsive-business-multipurpose-theme/9793377 The new update of that plugin will be added in the new update of the theme.
ok, thanks. do you have an ETA on the theme update? Is there a way that I can go back from VC 5.3 to 5.0.1 without loosing everything?
We will release the new update of this theme in a couple of days. To go back to 5.0.1, you have to delete that plugin from Plugins screen first, don’t worry this won’t affect your current data and settings.
Once you delete it, you will see a notification message to install the one that’s included in the theme. If the notification message was dismissed, navigate to Appearance > Install Plugins to install it.
you guys rock!!! Thank you very much
Hi,
I’m having issues with your theme that I just purchased. I’ve recently updated the current theme, visual composer is updated, and so is slider revolution.
I’ve setup the one page site and I’ve disabled settings (I think) to hide the page title, yet the title is still showing.
Here is the screenshot for page settings on front page: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bxsygtu203wryj9/Edit%20Page%20%E2%80%B9%20%E2%80%94%20WordPress.jpg?dl=0
Here is the screenshot for how the page looks: https://www.dropbox.com/s/51cien8rd30sonn/A%20Proven%20Communication%20and%20Execution%20Plan%20for%20Building%20a%20Stream%20of%20Opportunities.jpg?dl=0
Please let me know why this is happening as I’m getting quite frustrated over it.
Also, another problem that I’m facing is that when I go to edit text blocks in visual composer all I get is a loading image, and I can’t actually edit the text.
Thanks, Jen
Hi,
It seems like there is a plugin conflict on your site. Actually the dropdown list in the Title Options should display the full text of the option, not only H or C like the screenshots you provided. Also, when you choose “Hide” for the Page Title, all options in the Title Options section shouldn’t show up. Try to deactivate other plugins to see if it works.
Also, make sure you’ve set your front page (Home) as a Front page in Settings -> Reading.
Regarding the problem when you edit the text blocks, that is a PHP compatibility issue. In the current version, this theme is not compatible with PHP 7.1 so you would see an error while editing some content elements. We will fix it in the next update. To work around this, you should temporarily downgrade your server PHP to 7.0.
