You can import demo content in Theme Options -> Home, choose the Personal Portfolio demo to import, so you will receive all pages, posts and settings that look exactly like our demo.

However, the importing will append the pages and posts to your site, we would recommend you to import demo content on the fresh install site.

another question…how do one hide/delete the portfolio from the foodstylist one page template? i cannot find where to choose which part to hide or delete generally from the homepage. please help

Those parts on the front page are ordered by menu order. You can change the order, add or remove any parts in Appearance -> Menus. Edit the Primary Menu to change the content on your front page.

WordPress will automatically crop your images into the certain sizes as defined by the theme, this is how WordPress theme works. You don’t need to resize them before uploading but just upload the big ones. The recommended sizes for blog posts and portfolio posts are 1280×960px or larger. This to make sure all images will be cropped and display properly in different layouts.

However, all background images (e.g. row background, title area background) will display in original size as uploaded so you will need to resize them before uploading.

Also, some content elements (e.g. Single Image, Image Gallery) have an Image Size option that allows you to choose the size of image to display.

Anyway, if you’ve imported demo content, you can easily replace the images by using Visual Composer page builder, edit the pages and posts to change the images one by one.

I’m sorry but I’ve tried with both iPhone and Android phones, they are working properly. I have no idea why it doesn’t work on your end. It might be a connection issue or a Safari browser issue on your phone, try it with different phones or different internet service providers to see if it works.

Try to update the Slider Revolution plugin to see if it works. You will need to update the theme first. After you update the theme, you will see a notification message to update the Slider Revolution that’s included in the theme.

We would recommend you to enable automatic update feature by using the Envato Market plugin to make sure your site will always be compatible with the new update of WordPress.

You can find more details on how to install the Envato Market plugin in our documentation. Go to the Downloads tab on ThemeForest, find the Overlap theme and then choose “All files & documentation”. After you extract the zip file, you will see the documentation inside.

You will need to update the theme and all bundled plugins to fit that issue. Make sure you’ve updated those plugins to the latest update.

After you update the theme, you will see a notification message to update Wyde Core and other bundled plugins. If the notification message was dismissed, navigate to Appearance > Install Plugins to see the bundled plugins list.

Don’t worry, the theme updating won’t affect your current data and settings. If you’ve never edited any files in the theme folder directly, your changes won’t be lost. If you’d like to edit the PHP template files, please do it via your child theme.

Thank you so much for your answer I saw this solution in comments before and I tried to update the theme and plugins as you indicate, but, when I updated, the web looks break, as you can see in the image: https://goo.gl/QAhRy4 For this reason, I go back to previous version of the theme I don´t know what could be the reason I use child theme for style changes, I didn´t do any other changes Yo can see the web (with anchor not working) in https://goo.gl/vLdVwL

It seems like Wyde Core plugin or Visual Composer plugin didn’t activate so it displays the shortcodes text instead of the right output.

There may be something wrong while updating those plugins. Try to update the theme again. After you update the theme, you will need to update the bundled plugins to the latest version as below:

-Wyde Core 3.6.7
-Visual Composer 5.3

If you couldn’t update them, you will need to delete them first, and then install the new ones that come with the theme.

This is a compatibility issue. You’re using the old version of PHP.

The recommended version of PHP for WordPress is 7.0 or greater as you can see in WordPress system requirements: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

However, if PHP 7.0 is not available on your server, the minimum version that is compatible with this theme is PHP 5.6.

In the recent updates of this theme, we just removed the + icon from the unordered lists. You will see it only when you put the list in the Text Block element from Visual Composer.

Anyway, if you’d like to change that icon in the Text Block element, you will need to add custom CSS below in Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS:

Or add the one below to hide it:

The Instagram Feed widget is included in the new update of Wyde Core plugin. However, it is compatible with only 2 new themes called “Aoraki” and “Ivery”. It will be available for the Overlap theme in the next update.

I would not recommend you to edit any files in the theme folder directly. You will need to always update the theme to fix any issues including a security issue. Also, this to make sure your site will always be compatible with the new update of WordPress and other plugins.

I would recommend you to move all your modifications into a child theme so they will be preserved and you can normally update the theme without losing your changes.

Anyway, if you couldn’t move your changes to the child theme. You can fix the scrolling issue on Chrome as below:

1. Download and extract the latest update of the theme zip file.

2. Upload the new file “overlap/js/plugins.js” from the theme folder to replace the old one on your web server.
