I imported the demo content and play around with the customization options.
This works well so far, except for the “changing of color”. The theme always stays orange, even when reloaded.
How can I adjust the colors of the theme?

I am glad the theme works fine for you. Inside the Customizer ( Appearance -> Live Customizer -> Color Options you can change the theme colors with other predefined skin colors.
Unfortunately there is no option to choose your own color, but we will address this shortly. We are working hard on an update that will allow you to choose any skin color/background, text color and body background from the Live Customizer via different color pickers.
The update should be ready this week, we will reply to you here once it will be ready.

1. No, it’s not WooCommerce ready at the moment, but it will be in a future update and we will create a separate demo shop to illustrate all it’s functionality.
2. No, we’re not using WPBakery and we are not planning in making it compatible with this builder(at least not at this moment). The theme works with Gutenberg visual editor( https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ – that is in beta right now but it will be an integral part of WordPress when version 5.0 will be released).

Like the theme. Have been using it successfully on www.goldenvisas.com for several years. We are still on 3.6 not sure if we are missing out too much?
One issue we have is with H1 on the posts. The theme takes the heading of each post as the page title. And then visually uses it as the heading on the post. To add another heading manually as an H1 directly below looks overkill. So we have to go without an H1 on all our post pages.
A further complication is when a category is created. You tag the posts to include in the category. But then all the headings from each tagged post come across as H1’s. So within the category page you end up with several or many H1’s (one for each of the tagged posts). Perhaps it would be better for SEO purposes to have these come across as H2’s and then have the ability to manualy write an H1 for each category.

In version 3.7 we made improvements to the responsive functionality of the theme and removed some deprecated functions. You can check the changelog of the theme.
In regards with H1 / H2 tags, the posts listings use H2 (H1 can’t be used because it will appear more than once on the same page and it’s not good for SEO) The category listings also use H2 tags, not H1( example: http://goldenworks.eu/demos/mc3_wordpress/category/blog/lifestyle/ )
Indeed the post detail still uses H2 instead of H1, which is not correct. In the next update we will fix this issue.

The theme can be used for this kind of project, however it doesn’t have most of the functionality that you are describing here. As long as you or a developer from your team builds the functionality and integrates it in the theme you won’t have issues.

I have recently edited my Media Support themed site. It has the current theme. When I view each page in the entire site while logged in as an admin, it looks exactly as it should. When I log out and view it normally (even after clearing my browser cache etc.), only the home page and recently added pages look right; the rest are still showing old nav menu items and page content that is old, with certain style elements missing and other errors of display. Seems the old pages are being cached somehow??
Anyways – how do I get this sorted out ASAP? can send log-in details if that would help. Have also posted to the Support Forums (couldn’t access them initially).

Recently downloaded the latest version of the theme but the Zip file didn’t contain any documentation – how do I get it?

Inside the zip file that you downloaded from Themeforest you must find the following folders: documentation, mediaconsult(contains the theme files), mediaconsult_child (contains a starting child theme) and psd(contains psd files).
So please check again, we are sure that the documentation is included in the theme package.

the Zip file is named themeforest-102888-media-consult-business-wordpress-theme-wordpress-theme.zip – when I unzip it with Archive Utility (on my Mac) I only have one folder – mediaconsult.

When you download the zip file make sure you are downloading “All files & documentation”, not just “Installable Wordpress file only”.
I don’t have that option – just a single Download button, from my account, or via the Download link on the theme page, next to where it says I have “1 license for this item”.

The slides are added from Slider -> Add new. The title of the slider is post title while the description is the normal text + more link. You can insert the more button by splitting the post content with the “Insert More Tag”.

You can do this by opening socialmedia.php from “includes” folder and manually remove the links that you don’t need.

Text intro is added via custom fields. When creating the page template, use “mydesc”(without quotes) for name and your actual text for value.

I’m trying to make WPML flags on the header area but even if I check it in the theme option it doesn’t show up. Is there any othere widget area than default sidebar? would be great if there was a header widget area and few more. Anyway what should I do to get this flags up? I’m using Multisite Language Switcher plugin. I have the widget and I can put in in default sidebar widget area but I want it to be in the header.

Once the WPML plugins are active(WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation and WPML Translation Management), languages are added and the option is the theme options is enabled, the flags will be displayed in the header, just above the search. We have just tested this feature with the latest versions of these plugins and it works just fine, the only issue is that the language switcher is not styled for the latest versions WPML plugins. This is a thing that we will fix in the next update of the theme.
Hi, I am doing some work for a client and his site is currently using Media Consult 2.1 and he wants to upgrade it to the latest version.
Should that run smoothly or could we expect problems by running this update?

2.1 is a very old version. Since 3.0 we changed more than 60% of the theme and its functionalities. So if you decide to upgrade, you will have to reconfigure it completely and also read the latest version of the documentation to learn how to do it properly.

I’ve only just become aware there is a responsive update to MediaConsult. I have MC1.3. I suspect the “receive updates” box was not checked at time of original purchase. I’ve downloaded the update, but cannot upload to my site. I cannot login to support because I don’t have the necessary info. Can you help please?

The version that you currently use is very old. Since then not only responsivity has been added, but almost all the theme functionality is changed, so if you want to update, first you must connect to your site via FTP , remove all the theme files and upload the newest version of the theme instead. Then read the documentation to learn how to re-configure it. In regards with access to our support forum, you will need the purchase code that can be obtained by clicking on “download” button that corresponds to the Media Consult theme from your downloads section and then click on “License Certificate & purchase code (text)” text.
