Hi,
I’m having a theme conflict with my custom permalinks, the plain “ugly” ( /?p=123 ) are not redirecting to the custom structure automatically.
As soon as I change the theme to one of wordpress defaults, the redirecting works.
Any suggestions what script could be preventing from redirecting properly?
Using SmartMag Version: 2.6.2.

if i want to create 2 post type like 1) City 2) Airport
A) is it possible post type City have a criteria for review different from post type Airport ? like City will have 3 criteria rating : Safety, Clean, Public Transportation and Airport will have : Lounge, Customer Service, Luxury ?
is it possible for users to create a different review for each criteria i put on City / Airport post type ? like, if City have topic TOKYO, user who visit Tokyo page, will able to add different story and add different rating for criteria Safety, Clean, Public Transportation ?
C) If i have Topic/post call TOKYO on post type City, is it possible in that TOKYO page, i put lot of information and show all summary rating from all criteria i set (Safety, Clean, Public Transportation), and when i try to access one of criteria like Safety it will go to page that show all rating and review for Safety in Tokyo ?

Hello guys,
After I updated your theme to its last version I get “http error” every time when try to upload а picture. It doesn’t matter picture’s file format, it doesn’t matter if I try while Im in the post or while I’m in Media.
I tried the following solution without success. I disabled all the plugins except Bunyad plugins and Sphere Core. PHP memory_limit is set to 256MB. After this changes the problem still exist.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

First try to upload a small JPEG image (example 800×800 with a size less than 500kb0. Then try asking for error logs from the webhost. Further, ask your webhost to look into upload_max_filesize , post_max_size, max_execution_time, max_input_time to see if there’s reasonable limit. If you’re using the default slider, the posts for it can be adjusted. When you add/edit your homepage, it has the option under “Page Options” for “number of slides”. If you still need further assistance, please register and create a topic at our Support Forums.

I’ve been trying to sign up for the forum. I’ve filled in my purchase code and it states that an account has been made and a confirmation email has been sent to my email. That confirmation email never came, and when I use the ‘lost my password’ option (which I’ve done twice) they keep saying they’ll send the email, but I haven’t received anything on my email either. I have checked the spelling of my email, and I’ve checked the spam folder and nothing’s there.

I’m having trouble with duplicate images on posts. I only want it displayed as a thumbnail because the featured image gets cropped on the post. How can I remove Featured Image from Post and only display as thumbnail? http://dixietrace.org/2017/10/16/sunshine-field-trial-club/

You can disable it from Theme Settings > Page/Post Settings > set “Show Featured” to No and save settings. This will disable the featured image on single posts. For further support, please create a topic at our Support Forums.

Hello I have a problem with the trending ticker. I have the website on cloudflare and the website uses w3 total cache. The trending ticker is enabled and the data that gets are old (from June-July) I saw the query that runs the mysql and seems fine. The query gets the latest data but the results are the old. I have removed all cache (cloudflare and w3 total cache) but the problem is the same.
I have another problem with saving the theme options. Every time i try to save the options that shows me an error 403.

Hiya,
I’ve selected Post Cover as the layout for a few of my posts, but the featured image I’d like to use for it doesnt show up? I can see the caption of the image, the white to black filter that goes over it but the image itself doesn’t appear. I’ve tried it on multipe posts and it doesn’t work on that specific layout.

There’s likely to be conflict with a plugin. Try deactivating all plugins except the Bunyad and Sphere Core plugins. Further, please create a topic at our Support Forums so our tech team can check your site.

This theme was created quite awhile ago now… not saying that is bad – of the 100’s of themes I have used, many so called “Premium” bestsellers, this is still the easiest to work with and never fails – and it looks good.
That said, I intend to buy a new license for another project and I was wondering if Themesphere plans to keep updating SmartMag to keep it working with WP version updates for a few more years to come? (considering you have released a new theme and likely more in the works).
I could go with your newer themes, but SmartMag is easy and I like the look, so I want to keep it for at least a few more years… and know it will be updated.

Too many of the bestselling themes (not yours) are marketed as the do all, easy to setup and customize solution (NOT). As a developer with php and css experience, most are not easy to modify and contain a ton of bloatware and features that most people will never use. In fact, they can be downright confusing for beginners – and frustrating for those used to toying with css etc. SmartMag has the cleanest css of all the themes I have used… and a very intuitive theme settings admin area.
Looking forward to new themes from you guys.
A nice addon for SmartMag would be the addition of post views and like/dislike options (with placement options) – and then display on a homepage block based on these 2 criteria (one or the other). As well as a few more options for video insertion such as removal of YouTube elements like related videos, video title, annotations and so on. I use EmbedPlus for this right now, but it would be great to have it built into SmartMag (or as a video addon for a small fee).
Take it one step further as a addon and you could include share and follow buttons overlayed on images and videos (video the more important one). For video, settings like – trigger social share buttons at X time in video, or percentage watch etc. Just social share, not ads etc as that I believe is against YouTube’s TOS – not sure about social share their TOS.

These are false positives by the compatibility detector and these won’t cause issues with real usage. We’re running our own demos on PHP 7.0.x.
For example, the error on posts.php and Bunyad SiteOrigin Panels is a false positive (it is a bug in the compatibility checker library). It’s detecting that because there’s a ‘e’ that appears in the regex – however, the /e flag is not used so it is compatible.

Sorry that’s only for showing the feature on the demo and it’s a custom solution that’s not offered with the theme. Although, you can choose the Dark skin for your whole site from theme settings backend and set any color of your choice as the main color.

I’m not sure how but I’ve lost the featured posts next to my slider and I can’t get them back. I’m working on a local backup of my site to prepare for the change of theme and I had three posts there earlier, but now there’s nothing. I’ve checked that the Right Side Posts Grid (Default Slider only) settings are not filtering the posts and I’m not using tags in my site. Is there anything you can recommend to help me get them back? All I’m left with is a blank space.

Perhaps the duplicate post prevention mechanism has been activated which would disable redisplaying the posts if already shown in the slider. You can check it from Theme Settings > Homepage and Blocks and ensure “No Duplicate Posts In Homepage Blocks?” is disabled. Hello there,
Could you please help me regarding the Featured Area?
I’ ve imported the “Tech Demo” and in the Homepage I’ ve selected “Use Latest Posts from Whole Site. However, it ignores the Posts I’ve created after the import, and displays only the posts from the Demo (dated 2015)
Then I tried to display only Posts Marked as “Featured Slider Post”. I marked 8 posts (some new, some from the demo) and the Featured Area doesn’ t display at all. The Homepage start with the first “News Focul Block”.
What do you advise? Thank you in advance.

The first thing would be to ensure no cache is in place – try clearing any cache you can find in WordPress admin. The “Use Latest Posts From Whole Site” option will display the latest posts if the settings are being applied to the homepage. Yes it is SSL compatible. However, if you migrate to SSL from a previously non-SSL site, you will have to re-upload logo and any background image in Theme Settings (while accessing your wp-admin using https URL). For further support, please create a topic at our Support Forums.

Hi, I plan to purchase the theme, can you tell me is it possible to make in Classic Demo/ modern listing (theme-sphere.com/smart-mag/modern-listing-example/ ) that ad block in header (728*90) also sticky like the rest of navigation menu? To be clear – I want the ad block to be always shown when user scrolls down (to be sticky like navigation).

Sorry we don’t have this feature. If your ad network does allow sticky ads, alternatively you can add sticky ads to footer using a plugin like advanced floating content. Just a warning in case you wish to use this with Adsense – Google only allows this to their top publishers – normal publishers using sticky ads like these are often banned.
