Have been looking for a solution to this, but so far no success. I’m using a portfolio element and would like to have some of the items open in lightbox instead of going to the single project page. The effect would be a portfolio/gallery kind of mix.
Any chance of a quick solution to achieve this? Thanks!

As of now the two couldn’t be mixed, unless you were using the default project style (meta below thumb with links on hover)

I’m really happy have purchased this great theme. Good job guys. I have a question. I’m not sure about this; I didn’t see different between “Centered Menu” & “Menu Left Aligned” in header layout. The main menu goes left align in both setting. I thought the main menu will be in the center of logo & right menu in “Centered Menu” setting.

Hi. When using the “Basic Slider Style” gallery in a column and then setting the column to “Centered Content Alignment”, the next and previous image arrow buttons move to the right of the gallery. Looks like a bug. If I set Text alignment to “Centre” at row level it works fine without the arrow buttons moving. I’ve done what I need to but thought I’d mention the bug.

Since upgrading from a much older version, the lightbox no longer autoplays Vimeo videos. Also, after sorting by filter, clicking on a portfolio video now just directly links to the page instead of opening a lightbox. I’ve tried both the standard none script and the Magnific script. 1. Try to change this line in your salient/js/magnific.js file from:
//player.vimeo.com/video/%id%?autoplay=1
to this:
//player.vimeo.com/video/%id%&autoplay=1
2. This is a known issue with that specific project style + the lightbox only setting – if you switch to any other style it should work for the time being. However the fix will be included in the next release, but if you’d like it early just shoot me an email in regards

Hello! Finally I updated my blot into the Material skin. So far it looks nice, but I have a couple issues.
In the frontpage, the masonry elements showing the blog posts has a dark background, meanwhile the actual blog posts have a gap with no background. I cannot find the CSS element to remove the black border or background. Could you share the class to modify this?

Also, on the page settings, I setup a header background similar in height and width to the posts. In the post, the header image is resized and looks bigger. But in the page, the header is not resized, and the fonts’ style does not look similar. Hope this can be fixed in a future update.

Oh… now I found the Off Canvas links do not work properly, I have a tag cloud there and it only selects the last link, you cannot select any other link.

1. it seems that the dark BG on your home page is coming directly from the background color set on your row containing the blog element. If you’re not seeing that color set, please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look
2. Add this into the custom css box to fix the tags widget issue in your OCM

Heya! Since the update, there is a bug where whenever you are editing anything on a page, it will automatically pull you down to the bottom of the screen when you do any action: delete an element, edit a text box/row/whatever. This is super annoying – any chance this will be fixed asap?

This is a known issue with the old version of Visual Composer and WP 4.9 – WPBakery released a fix which Salient integrated a couple days ago. To get it, just update your version of Salient to the current release (8.5.3) and then update your Salient VC from the plugins section in your admin panel

Hello! Salient is a godsend, and these discussions are so helpful. One thing I can’t quite figure out. I put recent blog posts into a carousel, and am trying to remove the preview text. I put this into the custom CSS:
.blog-recent.columns-1 p, .blog-recent .meta-author .post-meta{ display: none; }
And it successfully removed the preview text for half of the posts, but not the others. I can’t figure out why, or if there’s a better way to structure the layout. Thanks! See the page here:

So Im having an issue with my eccommerce website. Im hosted my bluehost, and I had purchased an SSL certificate from them, and they notified me that it can not be fully activated because there is an insecure URL somewhere. They informed me that I should speak with the developer. I tried to locate and remove the URL myself with no success

just checked, and there is no image present in the “custom loading image” field so it must be somewhere else
Also, my website is very buggy right now, and is not displaying properly. My host has insured me that it is not an issue on their end. Can you please have a look and see what the issue is.

I’ve updated to 8.5.2 & VC 5.2.3 – same problem as ECDJ (line breaks gone everytime I save a page).

Since I installed WordPress 4.9 I have a problem with line breaks, it seems the Visual Composer totally ignores them. Everytime I add them to a text module, or a text module in a Carrousel, they dissapear after saving the page?
I’m on Visual Composer 5.2.3.

That specific text in that style of the fancy box isn’t using an H tag, there isn’t direct control available over it other than the body text typography option at this time

I just installed your new update and it has completely ruined my website styling 
Full width content doesn’t seem to work any more. And typography styles don’t seem to work anymore. Please help as my clients not happy and I need to resolve this ASAP. It’s certainly a bit disappointing

Hi Mate, This is a real issue. The update has nearly wrecked my fully functional site. Fonts changed, Colours changed, Full width content breaking with a white gap on the right. Lucky I had a back up and as I had to move to an old version which was working perfectly.

Actually, Just checked out the style sheet option and by un checking it the site works fine. However the moment I check it the website breaks. Not sure why this is happening as in the older versions it worked fine.
Also enable parallax BG does not working on Firefox anymore.

I installed WordPress to use on my local drive using MAMP for Mac, however after running the install of WordPress twice and installing all of the components for Salient there is a conflict.
Whenever I am trying to add a new component onto a page it doesn’t allow me to alter or change the component in anyway. I can close the popup window but no changes take affect.
Even when I close the popup window and see Salient components added (i.e. Nectar Slider) when I click on update or publish all changes and added components disappear.
I need help!!!! Please help!!!!

Hey Alan, this was a known issue with the latest Firefox and the old visual composer – Salient released an update to fix this as it became available from WPbakery – please update your version of Salient to the current release (8.5.3) and then update your Salient VC in the plugins section to get the fix

Hi, since the update to WP 4.9 and Salient 8.5, after editing or previewing a page using visual composer, the scroll bar moves to the bottom of the page. do you know about this? very inconvenient
turns out I installed the 8.5.2 theme but needed to re-install Visual Composer plugin to 5.2.3. All good now

I am trying to have the titles under portfolio items be centered. I’ve seen a bunch of different css tips here but they all seem different than each other. I used one and it came close to centering, but not completely. The last letter is right under the center of the image. Do you have css that’s updated to work with latest versions of theme that centers the titles? Seeing as there’s pages of comments over the years asking how to center the titles, may want to make that an option along with the other options, like removing the dates.
Never mind, I used this CSS I found in the comments here and it fixed my issue.

It appears you’ve adjusted the margin right value of the supplied snippet to be -100px, change it to 10px instead
