Hey, I’m trying to create an animated heading home page, but my picture doesn’t go over the menu (full screen) like in the demo. How can I achieve this?
Hi there, first make sure the image is large enough that you want to use.
Then use the Animated Heading slider as a starting point and just change the background image with yours > Slide Editor > Main Image > Media Library (blue button).

I don’t have any preset sliders created. There are none in the Slider Revolution. I can only create one from scratch. How do I import the ones from the theme?
Hi, all the sliders are exported and ready for import. They are located in the main folder > assets > Slider Revolution > exports.
To get the background for the animated heading slider, you will need to import the demo data also.
Check the help file that comes with the theme, there is a detail explanation for this.

Hi. Great Theme : ) I have just updated to WordPress 4.9.1 and am running Definity theme version 1.0.0. I am now no longer able to ‘save’ any updates made in Visual Composer. The save button just won’t work. Any ideas? I have de-activated all other plugins and the issue remains…

Please re-download the theme from ThemeForest in order to get the latest version and the latest version of the plugins that the theme bundles, delete the plugins that came with the theme before updating the theme and follow the guide in the (updated) help file how to update the theme to the latest version.
That should fix the problem.

Hi Viktor. I have deleted all existing plugins and the old theme version. I have uploaded the newset theme version and re-installed / activated the plugins. I am STILL unable to save changes made in Visual Composer. PLEASE HELP!

Hi there, you probably have some errors with the WP installation and you will need to reinstal WP.

It looks like the theme is overriding the visual bakery/Page Builder and not showing some of the content types. This is kind of a big deal, especially because the Recent Posts option is incredibly limited. Can you suggest how to restore the Page Builder options aren’t removed? I would also really highly request that future versions of the theme don’t disable vital elements to the plugin.

Yes, the theme comes with its own custom designed & developed elements and all elements that are not supported by the theme from the plugin Visual Composer are disabled. The theme is using the functionality of the VC plugin instead of its elements.
These elements can be enabled by following the short guide below, but I would recommend to try and use the elements that are already available because they are styled to match the overall design of the theme.
To enable the disabled elements from Visual Composer, locate the file: definity/inc/visual-composer/definity_vc.php from the line 70 to the line 134, there is a list of elements, those that are NOT commented out, are the disabled elements, simply remove the comment (//) to add them back. You can do this for all elements except for “vc_section”.
You can do this more safely by using the child theme, copy only the definity_vc.php from the parent theme and make sure it has the same folder structure as in the parent theme.

Hi. When a custom excerpt is inserted into a post the READ MORE button disappears on the Blog page. How can this be added back?! Or can I edit a theme file to append this to the post with custom exerpt automatically?
Hi there, custom excerpts are well, custom, so the default styling doesn’t apply.
But you can add shortcode of a button in there, currently, that is disabled (will be enabled in the next update), in the meantime to enable it yourself, add & activate the child theme, then in the functions.php file of the child theme add the following code:
// allow shortcodes in excerpt add_filter( 'the_excerpt', 'shortcode_unautop'); add_filter( 'the_excerpt', 'do_shortcode');
Then just create a button with VC, click “Classic Mode” and copy the content of the shortcode for the button to the excerpt filed.

OK thanks, also I need to add a name ID (for anchor link) to the contact form (contact form layout 2) but can’t find php where the layout is. Where can I add the ID? (If I add an ID to the row, it jumps to the address on mobile but I want it to link to the form – no way of adding ID to the column in page editor and can’t see contact layout template)... does that make sense?
and is there a smooth scroll to ID option? (Or maybe a plugin you recommend for that?)
Hi again, yes there is a smooth scroll to ID but you need to set up the One Page menu correctly, check the help file there is a detail instruction about that there.
The contact forms are created with Contact Form 7 and they have IDs, use the chrome browser, right click > Inspect element on the form field that you want to target, then find the wrapping div around the form element and use that ID. That ID is auto-generated from CF7, it looks something like this wpcf7-f1706-p4321-o2 – yours won’t be the same.

Hello,
I’m having trouble with the header section of m website. If I look at your main demo MP, and go on the FAQ page, the header will be a light grey rectangle with the page’s name written over it. If I look at that same demo and click on the services page, “services” is written over an image of a city. Where can I change that background? I’m trying to get rid of the grey color, I want it white.

Hi there, first thank you for the purchase.
The page title(header) for all pages except the blog related ones is a Visual Composer element, so you can simply select is when you edit the page, change images, color, size, etc.
For the blog related pages, the page title can be edited from Theme Options > Blog Settings > Blog Page Title

I tried to import Demo Data but when I run the “importer” [from Tools] all it does is add a text file to the Media Library titled “definity-wp-demo-data.xml_.txt”... Can you tell me why it’s not working? Thank you!

hi, on the mobile devices: i have an issue with the displaying youtube video on the home page as its loading the video by opening youtube page NOT in pop up. However, it is loading video perfectly via pop up window on desktop.
Hi there, if you are talking about the full screen video bg – demo, the background videos doesn’t autoplay on mobile devices (to save battery).
If not, can you share a link to your website and name the specific section with the video in question?

Oh, I see, unfortunately, there is not much that can be done there, that’s how the phone works, YouTube redirects you to their website in order to drive more mobile traffic if you are opening video from other websites on a mobile phone.
This came in as an update in the last few months for the mobile devices, will try to look for alternative implementation but I don’t think there is one yet that prevents that.

Thanks for the very quick reply Viktor. I want to change the main (background?)image on the full screen slider one page template. It looks like it is a placeholder with 2440×1578. I want to change it to an image of my own choosing but cant find where to change it? cheers james
I see, you are writing in the comment section for Definity WordPress theme, but you got the HTML template (there is no Slider Revolution there). Those slides are added via CSS, what you need to do is to edit the assets > styles > main.css file.
At the end add your path to your image, example:
.fs-slide-1 {
background: url('PATH/TO/YOUR/IMAGE');
background-size: cover;
}
The same goes for .fs-slide-2 and .fs-slide-3 (slide 2 and 3);
My apologies for being a bit slow and inexperienced Viktor, do I need the full path to my image, e.g. ‘http://www.....'

Hi,
I have just migrated a site (which uses the Definity theme) from one most to another:
Old Site: www.chemical-design.com/harry-flatters New Site: http://77.104.173.184/
I copied the complete file set and a copy of the database. As you can see from the sites, the new site is now using a full width fluid layout and the pages stretch the whole width of the browser. I have looked over all the settings and can’t work out why this has happened. I’ve even gone into Theme Options / Import/Export and imported styles from the old site to the new.
Please advise.

Hi, make sure in Page > “Page Template” is set to Visual Composer and all the plugins installed are the same on both websites.

hi, the mouse icon, it is a scroll.
Oh, I see, from the hero/header layouts – those are created with Slider Revolution plugin.
To remove it is simple, just edit the slider in question via Slider Revolution tab in the WordPress backend, find the layer named mouse/scroll and delete it.
