Hey! I like that template alot! It looks amazing.. But I’ve some questions. I’ve read that you’re currently working on a template for wordpress with buddypress. I think you are going to use BBPress as Forum software am I right? I’ve some experiece with BBPress and if you have a big community BBPress isn’t the best choice for a forum. A better one is for example xenforo. Is it possible to create the Forum with xenforo? Or any software like this. A free one would be phpbb which is also quiet okay for bigger communitys…

1. No, there is no such article. Creating a social network is a very complex task. It requires high coding skills, experienced developers and several months of hard work.
2. The Buddypress WP version will be of the same style as the HTML original, but it will differ in functionality and layout structure at some point.

This template is just a set of HTML and CSS files, not a ready social network. There is no backend functionality, therefore no database to save media etc. All this must be coded extra.

There is no social network based on Olympus template to buy. You can create it yourself or hire a team of developers who would do this for you.
However, our team is currently working on the Olympus WordPress version, that will be based on BuddyPress plugin. If you are interested in it, you can subscribe to our newsletter here and get email notification, when it is released.

- I actually want to build a social community where all my site members can also sell products via my website so I can make a little commission from their sales. So please consider integrating the marketplace WC Vendors plugin. If you are familiar with the KLEO wordpress theme, so many more wanted to buy that theme but they backed out when the authors did not integrate WC Vendors. I purchased KLEO also when it was on sale, but I do not use because it has no WC Vendors.. Also, if you will integrate, please do NOT use Dokan since they charge too much for their add-ons which are usually free with WC Vendors. Thanks.
- also, some suggestions from a daily Facebook user:
1) a DRAFT feature for posts and comments, where the member can post or comment but finalize it only after making sure that he will make no more changes
2) a feature where site members can create Child/Sub Groups, an extremely important feature which no other theme author using Buddy Press has been able to offer so far
3) a feature where all files are automatically Private, and the group admin can choose which files to make public, or password-protected and admin can provide the password only to select members
4) a feature where site admins, and/or group admins, can solicit donations

The theme will support functionality of such plugins as Woocommerce, bbPress, Buddypress, Visual composer and main functions such as few versions of blog, a lot of widgets, etc.
Reactions, Chat, Viral publishing, etc are planned to be added as independent plugins in future theme updates.
