Nope. We have to have “dt-the7” folder name in order to deliver updates. You can rename it manually, but in this way theme will not be able to update properly.

However note that all themes on ThemeForest requires to purchase 1 license per 1 site you build.

As your suggest update The7 v2 to The7 v6, I doubt with Do I need to update my WordPress version? Now my wordpress is version 4.7.4 which not lastest version.
It’s always a good idea to update to newest version of WP and Theme. Yes it will require some work now, but all future updates will be a breeze.
Just make sure you have a backup of your current website. (We recommend “All in One WP Migration” plugin for it.)

Theme comes with ready made German translation file.
As for theme speed it all depends on your server location and quality of content management.
E.g. our demo servers are located in the US. Naturally, it will yield non-optimal performance for visitors from Europe and Asia.
