It’s not possible to place shortcodes via the ::before or ::after pseudo classes. The correct way to do that would be to inject the ads via javascript.

I see you inserted 2 modules on the page:
1. Post Types Grid (pagination not working).
2. Post Types Archive (pagination is working).
It’s impossible to know what’s wrong with the first grid without logging in to check.
While the theme shows the pagination it’s coming directly from WordPress so any error is usually either a slug conflict or conflict with 3rd party plugin. If you try adding the Post Types Grid module with pagination eneabled to a different page does the pagination work?

I try all but nothing work. I delete archive and also continue issue. I downgrade theme 4.5.3, everything work well. But in this version pagination doesnt work. You can also check again this site. I create this site now for example, only download vc. Not other plugin has in site

Hi, the Typekit Plugin isn’t working with your theme. Is there anything I have to de to make it work?

Which plugin exactly are you using? There are a few out there (some with known issues). A lot of customers are using Typekit successfully on the site. It’s possible the plugin you are using has an error. Basically for Typekit all you need to do is have the Typekit code inserted to the header of the site and then you need to target your site with Custom CSS to apply the fonts. None of these functions would conflict with any theme because hooking into the head element is a WordPress related hook outside the scope of the theme and same thing with adding custom CSS.
If you let me know what plugin you are using and what exact error you have I’ll download it and check out out locally.
Now, if the issue is simply that you don’t see the fonts on the live site can you please share the URL so I can verify? And remember to clear any site/browser cache whenever you are loading new fonts because your site or the browser could just be caching the old fonts.

Hello! I have pre-sale question: Could I ever (and how is hard) made portfolio post and single product (woocommerce) layouts looks as like in Kalium and Shopkeeper themes? (take a look please). I badly interested in that custom (not common) layouts..(sticky description side and scrollable pictures side).. and what is possibilities to customize layouts and design elements in details (arrows, borders, tabs, buttons, etc..), hide/view, position, hovers – in woocommerce shop and single product pages..You theme looks great… but WooCommerce design and layouts so poor and common (in demos)...only color or font switching is not enough to make great store with “fashion magazine…vogue – feeling”..Sorry for bad english.

The Total theme is primarily focused as a business/corporate theme and the WooCommerce shop is not highly modified because it breaks a lot of WooCommerce add-on plugins. Some themes customize WooCommerce a lot so it looks better, but then a lot of add-on plugins break. I prefer to allow support for ANY WooCommerce plugin to work with the theme so that freelancers/developers can still make any tweaks they won’t without worrying about manually tweaking files or removing built-in theme functions.
You could enable a sticky gallery and description via a child theme doing some advanced modifications, but it’s not an option built-into the theme. If that is something you really want and don’t know how to do yourself then you may want to purchase the theme that already suits your needs.

The comment number comes directly from WordPress via this code:
number_format_i18n( get_comments_number() )
So the issue isn’t theme related but I can help troubleshoot the issue so maybe we can track it down…
- Were the comments added manually or via a 3rd party script?
- If you add a new comment does it update the number at all?
- Is there anything different about this page or how the page was created compared to other ones?
- Are you using any sort of translation plugins on the site that are breaking things (because the number is being translated into the proper locale).
You may just have to try deleting and re-adding these comments as it could be an issue in the database with how the comments were initially saved.

Definitely sounds like a bug from the WordPress.com transfer since it’s actually very different. It’s possible a plugin like this could help: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-comments-count/

The theme should support ANY plugin that is properly coded. You shouldn’t have any issues and if you do just ask the plugin developer for some help so they can fix things up.

Hi there – for Portfolio items, is there a way to have a filter selected on a page using a URL?
Example: On an art page, I have many categories (paintings, graphic design, etc), but I want to send a client a link that has one of the Nav Menu queries already selected. So the url would maybe look like this: website.com/art/#paintings That would open up the same art page, but automatically have paintings filtered.
If you are using the Portfolio Grid module with the filter enabled you can do so like this – website.com/art?filter=paintings
Hash tags (#) are reserved for local links so it would create conflicts using it to target the filter as well.

Unfortunately it’s not possible via the custom Nav Menu by default (only when using the filter in the actual portfolio grid) But I’m planning to release an update either today or tomorrow and I think I can update things to allow this when using the custom nav for the filter.

The problem is it will require a double click to switch tabs and it will be a bit glitchy – https://cl.ly/p8NI – because there is already a click event being added to the tabs.
Unless you completely remove the default javascript from the page builder plugin. It might be better to look for a 3rd party tabs addon plugin that already works like this perhaps. Or instead using FAQ/toggle modules added in columns (that may work, I’m not quite sure what your design is like).

In WordPress if you import dummy content and you want to remove it you either have to delete each page 1 by 1 and reset the menus/widgets/media. Or you can just use a reset plugin to quickly set WordPress back to it’s default state like this – http://www.wpexplorer.com/reset-wordpress-website/ (if you follow this guide please see the “Important Note”).
Because you will be reseting the site to a fresh look you will have to re-activate your theme. So it’s best to just de-activate it first via the admin, otherwise you will have to de-activate it from our site – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/support/
Most customers actually prefer to start from scratch without importing any demo since everyone’s site is usually very unique. It looks like there is a problem with Blockquote since the last update. Before, we could have paragraphs in a blockquote text (see our frontpage for example at orchango.com). As you can see, the old blockquotes are displayed fine. But if we insert a new blockquote, the first paragraph is displayed with the proper blockquote font / tabulation… but the remaining paragraphs in the quote are displayed with another font / tabulation. And if we update the text in one of our existing quotes (which displays fine before editing), then the same problem occurs.
Any clue?

There shouldn’t be any issue with the blockquote (I actually haven’t changed them for like 3 years) it sounds more like the blockquote is just being closed after your first paragraph. Do you have an example of a broken one?

Most likely the image you have floated to the side is causing some sort of issue.
You could just create a new shortcode for this if you wanted something that works like this::

This way you can have full control over the look and feel of these testimonials in a single place via CSS and not worry about the formatting.
Because the blockquote is such a generic tag and it could receive design changes in the future (right now it’s a bit old school and looks more like a testimonial I may change it later). And it still works with the old quotes as long as we don’t change anything (just changing one word is enough to create the problem).

Updating Total shouldn’t change anything, since nothing was updated that would affect it.
Blockquote is technically a WordPress editor function outside the scope of the theme which is why the only thing I can think of is a 3rd party plugin breaking things or maybe you updated WordPress lately but didn’t clear your cache.
To confirm does it happen whenever you change ANY text in a blockquote? And does it happen in both the front-end editor and the backend-editor? And in what browser are you testing?
Sorry for all the questions I just can’t recreate the problem. If you can share a video example of the issue that could go a very long way for me understanding and recreating the bug. Thanks!!

- Yes, it happens if we change any text in the blockquote. - It happens when we change via the back-end editor (either via Visual or Text). - We never (or rarely) used the front-end editor. So I just tested… and the problem doesn’t appear??!! - It’s in MS Edge.
So it’s only happening in MS Edge?
Ok I use a Mac exclusively, but I do have a PC I can turn on to test so I’ll check it out. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot! Someone else mentioned another bug recently on Edge so I wonder if it’s due to a recent browser update.
ps: Chrome is my favorite and I use it the most but Firefox is actually the fastest when it comes to using the page builder.

I actually did a couple more tests adding a new line and nothing happened. Then I tested adding a line and editing the content inside the quote and yep, the bug happened.
Definitely a WPBakery page builder bug it seems but in the backend only when using the text block module.
I will open a ticket with the page builder. It’s nearly impossible for me to troubleshoot because the page builder scripts are all minified.
However, what I would recommend for better consistency and easier updates is to simple use a custom class like this: https://cl.ly/p5Eo
And remove the blockquote from the inline text editor.
Then add a little CSS to style them:

This way you can control your custom blockquotes globally via CSS and if you ever want to change he way they look, the font size, etc it’s very quick by modifying your css. And the actual editor will just need to have your text in it and the image. In fact you could even align the image and give it extra spacing or whatever if you want with the added class.

As you can see in the attached screenshot the hovering background color is the same I have chosen in the customizer, but in this case I’d like the green JUST for the characters, while I would like the background to remain white.

I have been running into this issue… The WPBakery Page Builder ‘Role Manager’ does not keep it’s settings.. so ie: if I have the page builder working on ‘posts’ it will stop showing up unless I reset the ‘Post types’. It would be great to set this ‘once’ and lock it. If anyone has a good solution for this please contact me. Even if it is a ‘function’ level fix. Thanks !! ~ I really love Total..#1 theme

The way the Role Manager works is by saving custom roles for your users. There is no reason why it should be resetting. Are you using any sort of custom user roles or users plugin on the site (including any sort of community plugin) or custom code in the child theme?
Additionally are you using a multi-site network or single-site?

Hi AJ yes.. I am a Total theme devotee so I keep up with all the updates. Nothing fancy {multi sites} going on other than using a child theme.. and I occasionally change the custom post types names..like Portfolio to Projects etc. I did see someone else asking about this on WPBakery this morning.. so I have made sure to contact them.. to see if they fond out anything. Sorry to trouble you with this ‘nit’..

Renaming post types wouldn’t matter because you are just changing the labels not the actual name in the database.
User Roles in WordPress are very much “hard-coded” so they aren’t very easy to change definitely sounds like some 3rd party aspect is modifying the user roles on your site dynamically.

No there isn’t a way currently. But it’s a good option to add. I’m not sure if you use WordPress SEO by yoast but the plugin has the ability to select a “Featured” term for each post.

For the mean time you can use CSS via :nth-child to set every item to display none and then set the first item to display block. In other words hide each term except the first one via CSS.

If you were hired to make modifications to a website already using the theme and you want help you should purchase the theme as well. Alternatively, if the site owners provide you with access to the account used to purchase the theme and they have an valid support license, then you can log in there and request help.
oh, OK – the site was put together buy a company around 2015. However, we have not been able to get hold of the creator. And so i’,m looking into the issue. Everything should have been purchased as the owner was billed for the full amount for creation and hosting I would need to look into how the theme was purchased and which account used to make the purchase. I assume if i knew the email used to validate the account used , same as i have just registered. would you have a record of email address used to purchase a valid license. the wordpress site is registered. anyway to PM the email – as i dont want to put on the site meanwhile i will try the email address , as i have access to all the accounts for the company
ok, i have just searched the email address , and have found the correspondence regarding themes and the one they finally purchased – BUT as suspected and confirmed , the theme and various other products were purchased by the web creator and added to the invoice – $59 – around 19/10/2015

If you are unable to log into the original email you can always purchase the theme to access support. $59 is a very low cost even for just asking a few questions, any freelance developer would charge more than that just for their time.
In the meantime if you do want to share the URL I can at least guide you in the right direction for altering whatever image you want to change on the homepage.
But because you mentioned the theme is on a very old version I would highly recommend also downloading and updating to the latest version so you aren’t missing out on a bunch of fixes and improvements – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs-category/updates/

After installing, I have a notice message at the top of my dashboard that says, “This theme recommends the following plugin: Templatera.” I thought it was supposed to be automatically installed with the theme package? I don’t see any way of installing it separately. How do I obtain and install this plugin? Thanks!
Hi,
The plugins included with the theme aren’t auto installed because they are all optional. The theme will work without any of the included plugins and some customers prefer not to use them (some customers use other builders like Elementor or Beaver with the Total theme instead of the bundled WPBakery Page Builder).
The same notice you are looking at should have a link that you can click to go install it: https://cl.ly/p5PC – do you not see the link for some reason on your installation?
Also you can always go to Appearance > Install Plugins to install or update any of the bundled plugins.
