Hello,
I am experience an issue with my website that has never happened before. When viewing on mobile, the header of the page seems to be glitchy and I’m not sure what’s going on or what caused it.
We haven’t made any changes in the past few weeks.

Hey Calvinmotte85, there’s seem to be some extra markup getting injected into body are that Salient isn’t adding. It could be coming from a plugin if you didn’t edit the files –
regardless, if you add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel it should fix it

display: none;

Unfortunately, even after adding the code you provided, we still haven’t been able to fix the issue.
Is there anything else you can suggest you think we do that might work.
*I have also deactivated all of the plugins one by one till they were all off to see if it was maybe there but still no luck.

It was there when I just checked the Salient CSS setting but I just re-entered it and saved to make sure..
If you look carefully at the header on a desktop view and scroll, you’ll noticed there a BLACK header layer behind the WHITE header settings I have already configured.. not sure where that even comes from..
This is the same issue that is visibly being displayed in a glitchy way on my mobile view of the site.
Is there a way I can give you guys my admin login in case I am doing something in correct here because we are getting alot of traffic and I do not want this to deter new and exisiting customers.
On mobile.. you can easily see how distorted the header is and I still can’t figure out how or why
This happens even if I deactivate every single plugin installed.. so I think it’s a theme issue.

I’m now seeing that the snippet is getting added, by the sourrounding css has errors and is preventing it from parsing. If you don’t have other malformed css in the custom css box, the plugin you’re using for minification could be causing it. Also, the markup that’s causing this in the first place is not apart of Salient: https://imgur.com/a/NNSAu you can check in the theme header.php file to confirm that there’s no such code. If no plugins you have active are adding it, it’s possible you hosting company is injecting it

How can I change the color of the search icon and the toggle icon? I want the main color to be black and the hover to be gray. Here https://imgur.com/a/NdXaX I have managed to change the social icons, but i cannot find a CSS selector to do the search and the toggle icons. Can you help with the code?

In the Salient options panel > header navigation > logo & general styling tab select “custom” for the “header color scheme” option and you’ll see color pickers for both states

Oh thanks, it was hidden in the settings ahahah… Can you please add a request to the wish list? Can you please let us control the blog/portfolio and page headers in the General settings instead of page-by-page? For example, default header height, bg color, and text color? This will be much easier and also will not write inline CSS to slow down the page. I know its a small code, but if we keep adding and adding to the page, its gonna end up being a very large internal code. Thanks

Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:
body.single-post article.post .content-inner {
padding-bottom: 0;
margin-bottom: 0;
border-bottom: none;
}
body.single-post .heading-title { display: none!important; }
body.single-post .main-content > .row {
padding-bottom: 0;
}

That fixed the top portion, but the bottom is still showing up. Maybe that’s a page nation type of thing? See here: https://innsatstalbans.com/2018/01/domenica-cooks/
It looks like a divider line, but i added content to the bottom of the page and it’s still belw the newly added content.

This is the CSS that was causing it:

Is this relative to a setting I have selected wrong within the Salient control panel or would you recommend I adjust this via the CSS?

It seems you may have pasted the pre tags into the css box that shouldn’t be there. Remove the opening and closing pre tags from the snippet and it should allow it to work

Hello,
If we are using full screen rows on a page and create two sets of rows (rows for desktop and rows for mobile), we make rows invisible on the different devices. However, round the front end, when we start scrolling, it ‘jumps’ between each row if that makes sense.
What is the way around this?

Unfortunately hiding rows with CSS wouldn’t work on a full screen row setup as all rows will still be used to create the number of sections. I’ve noted the idea to make this possible in future releases, but for now you’d only be able to hide/show different column setups within the rows based on viewports using the responsive options tab

Man it was crazy. Usually I never have a problem with spyware or malware but this one was un detectable.
The malware made it so that every so often if you clicked on any links on the site, beside navigation it would go to a Fake Mac Support ” Your computer is infected with a virus” and ask them to call the number.
And I couldn’t find it with any of my plugins.
Then with the help of a web designer friend from England we found out that somebody had injected code within the plugins section of the database.
After I deleted the code and change my password everything is fine. Scary though.

Hi there, I’m trying to upload an updated version of Salient and the zip file keeps crashing when I upload the new theme in wordpress. I deleted the old Salient 7.6 and wordpress keeps asking “are you sure you want to do this” and asks me if I want to try again, but the file won’t upload. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hello!
I am using Salient 7.6. I have a section at the middle of my homepage that contains sign up “cards”. I added an id (“sign-up”) to the row of those cards and my anchor link is http://www.mywebsite.com/#sign-up. In Chrome (Windows 10) and Microsoft Edge, it works as expected: the anchor link automatically navigates to the desired section/row. However, in Firefox (Windows 10), the page will first navigate to that section, then to the topmost (navbar), and back to my target section again (Is this normal)? In IE, it doesn’t work.
Could you at least throw light if I’m doing things right?
I am planning to use this anchor link on another website, and not on the same page as the target.

When I click on the CTA for this notification I get this message:

1) I might have found a bug: I noticed that if I set a row type to ‘In Container’ the Logo text disappears under it. You can see it here: http://newer.mikekren.at/portfolio/tin-man-falls/ The logo disappears under the Credits section.
2) You gave me this code to disable the burger menu: .single-portfolio .slide-out-widget-area-toggle { display: none!important; } It works great in desktop, but I have noticed that the menu comes back in mobile views. I’d rather have it gone from there as well.
3) You gave me this code to disable the footer in the single portfolio pages: body.single-portfolio #footer-outer { display: none; } The footer disappears, but now there is some white space there. You can see it here for example: http://newer.mikekren.at/portfolio/tin-man-falls/
4) Is it possible to reduce the line height of only some text inside a text box? I have used but it doesn’t work. For example the credits text here: http://newer.mikekren.at/portfolio/frauenhelpline/
5) This is probably a long shot but I would like to have a different ordering of my portfolio items for mobile and desktop. I figured to achieve this it would be easiest to enable/disable specific portfolio items only in specific views. Is this possible?
6) To better showcase my work in my masonry portfolio I have used animated gifs as featured images. This works great but since gif is such an unoptimized format the filesize of the gifs is quite big, resulting in long load times. Is there any way to use videos instead of animated gifs? Hi, On the Ascend—> “the-field” page, there is an element I cannot find out how to do in the theme. It is a parallax row, it has the words “Next Post” AMBROSE REDMOON in it. Which element is that and how do I replicate it? Thanks.

Hey cjcombs, The option I mentioned above enables that section, and the option right below it in the theme options panel titled “Post Navigation Style” allows you to select that type of style you need. the style that the demo is using is “Fullwidth next link only”
