I am seriously about to purchase this TODAY. I’ve been looking for something like this for so long, so I just want to say thank you for this! I do have one huge question I want a definite answer for before I click ‘buy now’:
I want to be able to do pretty much all of the theme’s functions simultaneously, and I want to be sure that is possible. What I mean by this is:
- A social network where people log in, view profiles and interact, but also start groups and forums if they are at a certain member level
- An online store of digital downloads where some of the content is only available to buy if you are a member. However, there may be online courses that are open to the public.
- An area where upcoming events can be posted
Please tell me I can do all of these things no matter what demo I start with so I can give you my money! haha

What demo are you referring to? Most have a logout button in the top right corner on the desktop site. If you’re using a mobile this hasn’t been included, but it’s nothing to worry about as this is just a menu link that can be added to any menu.
Will your theme work with s2Member and a multisite install? I had a bad experience with BuddyBoss and their one click install. It removed my super admin account and screwed up the database. How do your one clicks work? Do they play nice with the database and multisites?

This theme has not been tested with s2Member. It has been designed to work with Paid Membership Pro to add membership level functionality.

Is it possible to do the following:
Share to instagram?
Add text to all pictures uploaded so it has the website name for example at the bottom of each picture?
Can you disable certain types of media such as videos? so only pictures can be uploaded?
Can you give people mod privledges for moderation of posts? Can users report content?

1) Yes, you should see an instagram share button on posts already.
2) Yes, you just need to add image captions.
3) In what context? If you’re referring to in the BuddyPress activity stream, then yes.
4) Yes you can give users access to moderate posts. The theme does not have any report content features, but I’m sure if you Google for a plugin you’ll find plenty.
Thanks Ghost, Yeah I meant the activity stream. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t 100% sure if adding other plugins would be compatible or mess up the site somehow.

will you be updating the theme in terms of GPDR which is coming on May 25th?
I’m not sure how a theme would include GPDR? This relates to handling of data – the theme doesn’t do this.
I was thinking something when the person registers it asks them to accept, I’m sure there will be addons about gdpr but it’s alot of waffle and hoops to jump through. My hosting is nearly ready so should be purchasing in next day. Thanks for all the replies ghost, appreciated

Whether you check or uncheck the remember me option during login, remember me always remains checked. The reason is simple inside your login-functions.php file where you have set $remember to ‘true’ or ‘false’ depending upon whether the option is checked or unchecked, you might have missed the part in the wordpress function wp_signon() which automatically sets remember to true if defined as it checks for the following criteria:
if ( !empty($credentials[‘remember’]) ) $credentials[‘remember’] = true; else $credentials[‘remember’] = false;
Remember me should not be set in case where remember me is not checked.

From what I can see by default the WordPress remember me box is unchecked, like you say. If you check this and logout and go back to the default WordPress login page it is still unchecked, so it doesn’t remember your selection. So are you saying that this should be unchecked by default on the theme’s login form?

What I am trying to say is when a user for instance tries to login in using theme’s login without checking the remember me option (which is by default) your login-functions.php sets $remember to ‘false’ right? However, when you call the wp_signon function it checks for this condition i.e. if ( !empty($credentials[‘remember’]) ) and sets it back to true. So, no matter what you do check / uncheck the remember me option, it is always set to true by the wordpress function.
Instead what I did to fix this situation is set $login_data[‘remember’] = $remember only when $remember is ‘true’. In this way, the $credentials[‘remember’] remains empty when not checked in the wp_signon function which sets $credentials[‘remember’] = false. Both check / uncheck cases works on doing this.
I’m obviously being a little dense here but wouldn’t removing checked=”checked” from lib/sections/login/login-form.php also achieve the same purpose?
Certainly not.!! No matter what you do either check/ uncheck from the front end or remove checked=”checked” from the code itself the remember me sets to true because of all the process that I explained above.
Just check out the wp_signon() function in /wp-includes/user.php and you will realize it.
I don’t think that’s true. The theme checks for whether the checkbox is checked or not and passes this onto the wp_signon function.
yes i agree to the point that the theme checks for the checkbox set to checked or not and passes that to wp_signon function but if you look at the wp_signon function you can see that even if you pass remember as false it sets $credentials[‘remember’] to true because here the function is only checking for whether its empty or not.
Hmmm, if a checkbox is not checked the value is empty, or more precisely isset returns false. This false value is passed to wp_signon. I don’t see how this is returned true?

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean by “inclusive for potential members” and “is this theme accessible”?
Accessibility is about making the theme/website available for people with disabilities/limitations. For example, if the theme has skip links, then site visitors using screen readers can go straight to content without listening to every navigation or screen element before the content. Another example is that every functionality can be accessed by the keyboard. But if there are mouse-only functions, then someone that finds using a mouse challenging (arthritis, tremors, visually impaired, etc.) cannot access that functionality. Basically if the theme is not accessible, then people who use screen readers or have other limitations cannot fully interact with the theme/website. It is my goal to be “inclusive” to welcome as many potential members as possible.

Thanks for the clarification. This is not something I’m familiar with. The theme does have some screen reader support but from reading the WordPress accessibility notes it fails a lot of the other requirements currently. This is something I’ll need to look into supporting in the future.

Hi, Im interested in the template but will like to clarify if it will work for I want since I dont see any of the demos working for me, I know you can customize all but will like to know how easy it will be to do so for the following requirements. Im looking to do a membership site where members will gain access to content (coupons, discounts, etc) depending on the membership level they chose, the membership level will depend on the number of locations they chose (cities in this case, destinations) members in their account will see the content which they can print and use, they can activate/deactivate/upgrade their membership. So different members will have different access to content. Which demo has some of these features ? do you provide a service where you can do a demo with this specifications?

The theme uses the Paiud Membership Pro plugin to allow users to have access to different content and change their membership level.
As for their level depending on the number of locations these choose, the plugin does not have this functionality out of the box. So you’ll need to look for an extension that offers this or hire a developer to create this feature for you.
Do I have to pay for this plugin or is included in the template?
The plugin is free and can be installed through the theme. If you want to use additional features of this plugin there are paid add-ons, but all the basic membership level features are free.

Yes you can use the bbPress forum plugin as shown in the theme demo e.g. http://aardvark.ghostpool.com/original/forums
You can add discount codes to differewnt membership levels using the Paid Membership Pro plugin which the theme uses for membership levels, but there’s no referral bonus as such.

Yes, admin can only create blog post and forums by default, users can create and join groups and admins can automatically approve comments.
The Paid Membership Pro plugin is free – you only need to pay for any add-ons you want to use.
Yes you easily add courses using the Sensei plugin, which you need to pay for.

but need to make sure its also practical:
I have a presale question: I am at a beginner level at wordpress. I look for something exactly like ‘network’ demo, that means – import , translate all items to hebrew [rtl], and add the membership plugin – not program anything complex.
Can I achieve that with beginner level knowledge?
Could supply initial setup documentation with steps to be exactly like network demo? I’m sure initial setup documentation would assure a lot more potential beginner customers
this is the only thing keeping me from buying – I really want this theme! I’m just not sure if I have the proper experience to setup and customize it to be, just like the ‘network’ demo.

1) Yes. The theme comes with a one click demo importer, so you can click the Network demo import button and that’s it – it’ll look just like the demo site. The theme has out of the box RTL support. However you will need to translate any theme text to Hebrew. This can be done using the Loco Translate plugin so it’s pretty easy to do.

can not login via mobile on the front in – the menu is hiding the login box.. there for can not be accessed if you click X to close the menu the login box just disappears as well. – honestly you might have fixed this already but you release so many updates i do not get a chance to update my clients site every few days. if you have fixed it then sorry for bringing this up.. if not the fix is rather simple just change the Z-index a bit for the menu

this will then allow for the menu to be above the site header with the background as well, then allow the login box to be above it.
and no this isn’t the account that purchased the theme. – but yes we have purchased it. hopefully if that is not yet fixed you can get in out on one of your MANY updates..
I might suggest you only release updates every month? unless its something that is a website breaking fix that needs to be done.

i dont need support just need you to fix the issue and release an update.. and these comments are to let others know also what issues the product is having.. so they dont buy some busted ass theme.
1) You’re posting from an account that hasn’t even purchased the theme so I have no way of verifying your purchase.
2) I need to first determine this is a theme bug. Nobody else has reported this issue.
3) I’m not sure what you mean by “menu” that’s a very broad term – this could be referring to any number of things.
4) The comment section is for presale questions, just like everybody else you need to open a support ticket for theme issues.

I’m not sure what you mean – you just need to install the plugins you want to use. None of the plugins are out of date, need to be reinstalled or require an API key.
You only require a separate license for WPBakery Page Builder and LayerSlider to get automatic updates from these plugins (this is the same with any theme including these plugins).
However whenever the theme is updated it will include the most up to date versions of these plugins.

Two things for the moment.
1. Is it possible to have a featured image displayed within posts? It’s activated under Theme settings > Posts = Activated. No feature image shows on news page or on menu category dropdown.
2. On the top right menu where the user is logged in and on hover ‘edit profile’ and ‘logout’ show, points to https://mysite.com/network/members/aardvarkdemo/profile/edit/group/1/ and thus a 404.

I tested & start using Aardvark theme by few days. And this theme is my third Buddypress theme. I knew every single theme or theme Author can not be exist for me. However, this theme give me dream come true! Every thing what I wanted, what I looking for… It feel like people can read articles very comfortable, theme design is so clean, Activity timeline is awesome!
