Pre purchase questions:

1. Is this theme completely compatible with PHP7?

2. We would like the menu to show a hierarchical relationship between all the pages in our knowledge base. In the sidebar, we would like the menu to show all the child pages of the parent page the page you are viewing is currently under, and options to expand the other categories and see the pages under them. Similar to if you click to expand any of the menus in this example, but with the category you are under expanded by default: http://bradfrost.github.io/style-guide-guide/ We would like this to happen automatically so we do not need to continuously edit menus as we create new pages. Is this possible with this theme?

Thank you!

Hey,

Thanks for reaching out.

Regarding your questions.

1. Yes, it is compatible with PHP7. If any issue comes up, you can always post a new ticket on our support platform, as a license holder.

2. Unfortunately, that feature doesn’t come packed with the theme.

Pre-Sale questions: Does this theme work with existing pages? How are the categories on the homepage of the demo work? Does the plugin have any specific area where these categories can be created? Your documentation includes everything but these very basic questions.

Hi,

Thank you for writing. No, this theme works with a custom post type named “Articles”, they just work like pages or posts, but they have their own categories and tags. The home page of the demo lists the different articles categories, with the articles that each one of it has.

” I’m sorry if this comment distrubs you “

Hi,

Thanks for your offer. Unfortunately, we don’t need a developer right now.

Good luck!

Thank you for your response

Powerful Theme! I was wondering if you support RTL?

Hi,

Thank you for writing and thank you for your kind words. It’s not fully RTL supported (a few texts are not aligned correctly), but we’re working to support RTL completely.

Hey there, just as a quick head’s up: We’ve just released a new version with improved RTL support :)

Is it possible to create a different layout/type of article? I saw you allow full-width, etc but was looking to add “wiki” pages. I don’t really need a front end to allow edits if that’s not possible but would like to at least like to have differences between an “article” and a simple data spec list of an item. Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for writing. What kind of difference would you like to have?

If you are using Flatbase version 2.0 and above, you can select a lot of different options for each article, by going to the “Flatbase Settings” below the content editor.

Best, Juan.

Hey, I just tried to activate my licence key but it says it doesnt match?

Hi,

Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well.

Is there any chance you are using the purchase code you got from ThemeForest?

You have to validate that code on NiceThemes.com and then you get the license key. We have created an article explaining how to get the license key here: https://nicethemes.com/article/how-to-get-your-license-key/

Hi, how can I setup Flatbase theme to use as a second theme – just for Knowledge Base part to compliment an already existing theme?

Hi,

Thank you for writing, I hope you are doing well. WordPress doesn’t let you have two active themes. What you can do is install a WordPress multi site or have another WordPress install in a subdomain in order to have a support section. Something like http://support.mydomain.com

got it, thanks for advice!

Hey, I’ve set up the theme and started adding users to the site, however it seems the only way users are able to create an article is to be an administrator of the site, I’ve tried to add an article in a user account that’s set to Editor, however it goes to a 500 error page.

When I change the user to Administrator, then the page loads normally and the editor appears. Is there a way I can change this so that Editors are able to create articles?

Many Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for writing, I hope you are doing well. Thank you for your purchase.

Would you please copy the following code to your flatbase/functions.php file (or the one in your child theme if you are using a child theme):

https://gist.github.com/juanfra/1ca07d2d5c755c8125a0e9cc529a5945

We’ll be adding a fix for this problem in the upcoming version.

Hi J,

Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks again for the solution!

I’ve added it into my function.php file and it looks like it’s solved the issue!

Many Thanks, Andrew

Thanks for the follow-up Andrew!

Great, I’m glad it worked. The upcoming version will be fixing this issue. :)

Hey, folks! Great theme. :) Is there a way to create a glossary of terms? If not, do you suggest a specific solution that could work with the theme better? Thanks!

Thanks for the follow-up. Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t come with such functionality. Perhaps you can try a plugin like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/glossary-by-codeat/

Nice, thanks for the help! :)

Really daft question, but can you not change the order of the Knowledgebase Categories on the Knowledgebase landing page?

Hi,

Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well. You can use this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/taxonomy-terms-order/ to set an order for the categories.

Hello, can I have two Info Boxes only without a blank space on the right side, where the third one usually is? If so, how do i do it? Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for writing. Have you tried adding only two infoboxes?

Best, J

Knowledge Base · Official Support · Facebook · Twitter

There are three by default, if I delete one, it disappears but the blank space remains…

Would you please try adding the following code to your functions.php file? https://gist.github.com/juanfra/f3ee42a42d522ac1236263a1230a210b

Please be sure to change the number of the arguments with the ones you need.

Hello, i uploaded a pdf file so that users are able to download it directly from the site and when I open it, it displays the file however details such as shadows of the pics in the file arent being displayed so the whole impact of the file is rather worse. Any advice on how to fix that? This is the link: http://gettick.help/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Focus-management-101-%E2%80%93-How-to-start-using-Gettick-and-get-stuff-done..pdf

Hi,

Thank you for writing, I hope you are doing well. Unfortunately, the theme has no relation to the way the PDF file may look in the browser, so this is something I cannot help you with. Perhaps you can check the export quality of the PDF?

Hi, im trying to figure out how to set the color of the words in menu (home, pricing, log in, contact) in the upper right corner. The selected page, e.g. home is blue and the rest of the words are white on white background- cant see them. I want to have the background white. Thanks for your help!

Hi Again,

That color is defaulted to use the “Accent Color”. You can change that from the color options in the options panel.

If you prefer using custom CSS you can add the following:

.nice-infoboxes .item:hover a.read-more { border-bottom-color: red; }

And change “red” with the color you need.

Thank you again, have a nice day yourself! :)

Thank you very much :D

Pre Sales question! Love the look of your theme, but that loading animation and the slow load time is putting me off. Any way to disable that circle?

Hi,

Thank you for writing. Yes, you can disable that from the theme options panel.

Pre-sales question. Does this use any page builders? If so, which one? Can I control what demo data I import or do I need to import all demo data? Also, is BBPress included or is that an optional addon? Not sure if I want a forum at this time, but I like the idea of being able to hook into BBPress in the future. Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well.

No, this theme doesn’t use any page builder. If you use the one-click demo importer, the whole site will be imported, you can erase the data that you don’t need after that.

bbPress is a forum plugin from the same developers of WordPress, it’s free an open source.

Hello. When im trying to change number of articles at Home page of Knowledge base “Number of Articles per Category” here is nothing is changing — here is still displaying 5 articles ;/

Hello,

Thank you for writing. Would you please create a new support topic at http://nicethemes.com/support so we can take a look at your particular case?

Hi,

I was wondering if I can have multiple knowledge base pages (to use it for different categories.

Thanks, Nima

Hi Nima,

Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well. Please remember that we have a support center where you can create support topics. The idea is that we can bring you a better support experience over there.

With regards to your question, the knowledgebase template basically displays all the categories and its articles.

What you can do is create regular pages and use the shortcode:

[nicethemes_knowledgebase category=”ID”]

And replace the ID with the “parent” article category.

Best, Juan.

Hi,

Thank you for the clean and professional theme. I would like to add 1 more info box (4 total), but couldn’t find the setting.

Thanks, Nima

Hi Nima,

Thank you for writing and thank you for your kind words.

Unfortunately, there’s no option within the theme options panel to change this. But, you can filter the default args of the function by adding this code to your flatbase/functions.php file

Great,thank you!

Hi, I was wondering do I need to purchase multiple licences for this theme, if I attend to use it on multiple domain names within one company?

Hi,

Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well.

Yes, one license per site in order to get support, one-click updates and more.

Best, J

Knowledge Base · Official Support · Facebook · Twitter

Hi J. thank you for prompt reply. So, if I dont need support, I can use same theme on all of them? Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up. You could use the files because they are licensed under GPL, but in order to get one click updates, you will need to get a license per site.

Hi! I’m looking for the theme like this. I have one question for the theme. Can I show the search box in all pages or posts? So the user don’t have to go to the home page to search for the information. Please let me know.

Hi,

Thank you for writing. At this moment that is not available via options. You will need to add some custom code to show it on all pages/posts.

Best, J.

Refer to “Thank you for writing. At this moment that is not available via options. You will need to add some custom code to show it on all pages/posts.”

I see. So can you help me with that?

I know a bit about coding. If you show me how to do it, I can surely add the code myself.

Hello,

Thanks for the follow-up. I can guide you through. We always recommend using child themes to add custom code.

Best, J
