I am still trying to use this theme but now cannot set a default location for the map. Map is defaulting to some place on the other side of the World. This is available in every other theme.

You need to check what others authors are offering to make competitive themes. Geo-location is basic requirement and needs to show the map in relation to where the user is presently located. The map controls are hidden behind the search bar

The popup cards on the map need to be bigger with nicer styling and a button for the users to exit if its not the one they want. Again look at other directory themes and see how they are doing it.

It may take just a little more work to bring this up to standard but it will be worth it not to have customers like me coming here to complain all the time.

Nothing I mentioned her requires your support. The theme is working just the way you built it to work. But it is incomplete and unusable. Now trying to use the select advanced search function to set up a homepage with a hero map and search. Apparently for it to work you need to select individual listing types or enter a series of listing numbers. There is no way for it to just show the listings. So your Copenhagen homepage display is a fake to deceive new buyers into thinking a hero map homepage is actually possible. I am now requesting a refund immediately and urgently so that I can move on to another woocommerce based theme.

Hi again,

In Copenhagen page, we have added Select Listing Advanced Search settings where we added listing type and some listing ids, we wanted to show there on that page: https://www.screencast.com/t/f4AMe16DNc Of course, you are able to leave these fields empty, or combine it using your own needs. There are several possibilities, it is why we asked to open a ticket so our support agent could provide you with explanations and examples on ticksy on your installation. Please, reach our support team at https://select.ticksy.com/ if you need further help. Thank you!

Hi,

there’s a missing functionality: I’d like to select more than one single Listing Type for the same place.

E.

Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion. Please note that you can create multiple categories for each type, and assign several categories to a single listing.

Best, Select

Thank you for replying. I’m just wondering how to assign several categories to a single listing, since I see just one “Listing type” menu in the bottom of any single listing. ... I’ve just now noticed to select Multi-select Listing Types on the Settings. I tell you if it could be useful to other users, idk. Thank you! E.

You are welcome.

For further assistance, please open a ticket at https://select.ticksy.com/ with your site URL, and one of our support agents will respond.

Nothing more frustrating that spending two days trying to get a template set up to go live and continuously realizing more and more functionality is missing. So there is no option in the listing submit form for users to add map coordinates? Am I missing something? How does Geolocation work with Cityrama? How do the users listings show up on the map? I know I checked for a map view before grabbing this seeing that is the most important thing.

Whats frustrating is that this theme was published a year ago. You guys didn’t even make an effort here. Problem is none of the best directory themes use woocommerce I have probably purchased ten of them by now. I must have woocommerce for my business model to work. It is like being between a rock and a hard place.

Hello,

When submitting a listing, users can fill out their address in the Location section: https://www.screencast.com/t/3MSBQ1a4 This is the address that will show up on the Google map.

Our theme is compatible with WooCommerce. If you need further assistance, please open a ticket at https://select.ticksy.com/ and one of our support agents will help.

Hello, is it possible to set the Copenhagen/Portland style but with Address/Localization instead of keywords of the listings?

I’d insert just one kind of service in my website, so it’s important to focus more on the nearby of the user instead of the kind of service.

E.

Well, that’s a pity. Do you think you could add this function in the future?

PS: the theme hasn’t been updated for almost 5 months now. Have you planned to release a new version?

Hello,

If we receive more requests for this feature, we’ll consider implementing it. As for the theme update, we’re currently working on it, so hopefully it will be ready soon.

I am so tired of wasting my money on incomplete or mediocre themes. Latest listings is a manually selected list? Who will be going on to update that list everyday? You couldn’t simply code a function to select and display the listings by date??? The video in the Marseilles option does not work with YouTube links??? Some home pages do not have a submit listing button and I am unable to change this. And the laziness of this dev team is showing up everywhere I look. I am very disappointed.

Hello,

We’re sorry to hear this. Please note that the Listing Slider will display listings by date, if you leave the ID field blank. And yes, you can use a YouTube video on the Marseilles home.

Kindly open a ticket at https://select.ticksy.com/ with your site URL, and one of our support agents will assist you as soon as possible.

Thanks, Select

What is the support team going to do for me. Will they rebuild the theme for me alone. Update the theme and spend some more time on your code. Your work is unacceptable. Meanwhile I will go back to Superlist or one of the themes who all have the necessary functionality for a business directory.

Hello,

Our support team could assist you with the Youtube video (which you mentioned doesn’t work on your end), and answer any other questions you may have about the theme. Anyhow, we noted your suggestions, and will consider implementing them in a future theme update.

Pre-sale question: Can anyone add a place or only user will be able to add a place? Thanks

Hi,

Your support just told me your theme does not support rich snippets / structured data for businesses in your business listings. Yet the WP Job Manager plugin used is spitting out info related to jobs – and incorrectly since the site is not used to display jobs. So this hurts SEO in two ways:

1. Missing info for business 2. incorrect info related to jobs

This leads to errors in Google search console.

Please, please, consider adding rich snippets for business for each of your listings at your earliest convenience. This will aid your clients in search traffic tremendously and developers will take your theme more seriously in consideration for their projects.

This theme is aesthetically great but the technical details and support are what truly make a theme. Please consider.

Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion on improving the theme. These are valid points. We will pass this on to our project manager to consider implementing it in a future theme update.

Hi,

I would submit a support ticket but support portal is down. I am getting Google error for inaccurate structured data for job posting (since we’re using WP Job Manager). Listings should have structured data for a business (not a job). Can you please adjust? This will help your directory site clients immensely in SEO.

Hi, I tried to reply to ticket #1539542 but the support portal is down. Can you please provide where in your CSS that color is marked with !important so that I can remove that? Can I adjust this through the child theme somehow? Honestly I feel like other theme developers go the extra mile to support these issues.

Hi, I tried to reply to ticket #1535032 but the support portal is down. It appears when Yoast SEO is activated the Amenities option is not available within listing types. When Deactivated it appears available. Can you please help me troubleshoot this? Yoast is one of the most popular plugins ever.

Hello there, pre-sales questions please, I’m not a developer, so I hope I express correctly the following :)

QUESTION 1

I want to make a business directory to list providers of various services (and from various states, nationwide), and I want to place clickable headers (my own ads) in the search results pages (I want to add a different header for each category, subcategory, tag and location search results page). Please consider, I am not referring to the default image WP lets assign to categories and subcategories and so, cause that image is not clickable.

I think that for that to be possible, each time the user changes his search queries or terms, the URL must change instead of just having loaded the new results while keeping the same URL (as I’ve seen doing some tests in the demo). Here’s an example: https://www.bodas.com.mx/invitaciones-de-boda
As you can see, the URL has the category (/invitaciones-de-boda), and when you add another search filter (from the left boxes, for example ESTADO which means State), the website loads the URL /invitaciones-de-boda/aguascalientes (/TheCategory/TheState) The opposite (loading new results within the same URL ) would not only mean that what I want to do won’t be possible (I guess) but also that Google Analytics stats won’t be accurate, cause people will be visiting different categories but will not be registered as the URL won’t change).
So, will the theme allow me to do EXACTLY what I want? Meaning, to place headers in each category, subcategory, tag and location search results page, and that URLS will load/change so users may see the header I assigned to each category, subcategory, tag and location?

QUESTION 2

Another doubt I want to clear is this: when users select in the search bar the category they want to visit, the website will load the URL of the category, and the will see the header I assigned. So far so good.
Now, if a user, instead of selecting the category from the correspondent search field in the search bar, introduces it like a keyword, I’m guessing he’s going to be redirected to a query search result URL instead of the category URL, right?
To clarify: selecting “Category A” in the dropdown field of a search bar will load him the category URL (/listings/category-a) so he will see the header I want. But if he writes “Category A” in the field assigned to keyword searching, then the search result won’t be the category URL and instead will be the query search result URL (something like /listings/results=query) and there will not be any header there cause those pages can´t be modified by a non-developer, right?

I will also want to know:

3. For the content of the listings (the default information that will apply to all listings), can I add custom fields? I’m referring mostly to text, cause I want the listings to show the most possible provider information.
4. If so, can I add the content of those custom fields as search filters?
5. When a business owner creates an account and add a listing, and someone give to his listing a review, will he (the business owner) will be able to reply to that review?

Hello,

You’re welcome!

As for theme customization, it would depend on the developer’s skill level. All of our code is open source and well organized within folders.

a) The URL changes at the first search, but it doesn’t change with additional searches on the same page. b & c) You can see this on our demo page: http://cityrama.select-themes.com/elements/listing-search/ 1) Yes it is. 2) Emails are sent to the listing owner. 3 & 5) No, emails are not sent. 4) Yes. 6) The search options are presented on our demo site: http://cityrama.select-themes.com/elements/listing-search/ http://cityrama.select-themes.com/elements/listing-advanced-search/ 7) You can translate from the POT file. We haven’t tested our theme with Loco Translate, but some of our customers are successfully using it. 8) This type of dependency isn’t available when submitting a listing.

Thank you so very much for being that much helpful and kind :) The theme really seems great!

You’re welcome :) And thanks!

Ticket # #1535032 anyway we can set up a skype session? I am not able to activate amenities and waiting 24 hours for each response in the support portal is making this drag on. I really want to start listing businesses but can’t progress until the listing settings are set up. I believe my site is being problematic because I already had WP Job Manager installed and in use for JOBS – which I have deleted to make way for business listings. Please advise!

Hello,

Unfortunately we don’t offer Skype sessions. We replied to your ticket – you can check Ticksy.

can you provide demo access to wordpress dashboard to see how you have demo set up? Not user access, but WP Dashboard.

Hello,

Unfortunately we cannot provide demo access. Perhaps you could install the theme and import demo content on localhost, to see how we set it up. Here is a helpful article regarding this: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-a-local-wordpress-site-using-xampp/

yes, I already installed demo content on another install but would don’t have access to all the settings as shown in your demo (amenities, user portal etc)

Hello,

In that case, our support team can assist you with setting these up. We replied to your ticket; you can check Ticksy.

Your instructions say how to add amenities by editing a listing type. When doing so there is no”Add Amenity” link to be found as suggested

I like the design of this directory but I am not a fan of WC Jobs Manager + WC Paid Listings. That combo was meant for job boards and will not monetize as well for a directory website. The Qibla template on ThemeForest has a built-in listings manager that allows you to limit things like the number of photos (e.g. 1 photo for Free Listings vs. 5 photo galleries for Paid Listings). It also gives you the option to limit the amount of contact information or social media details for certain packages.

The goal of our FREEmium directory is to upsell free listings with premium features but still benefit from the content that is generated by the free users. With the WC Jobs Manager + WC Paid Listings approach, the only incentive for free users to pay is the amount of time the content remains on the site. It is VERY important to me for the Free Listings for our site NOT to expire but simply have fewer features (no gallery, no contact info, no social media links, no videos, etc.).

Is there a way to obtain the BENEFITS of the CityRama DESIGN in a way that is still COMPATIBLE with Qibla’s built-in listing system? Would installing CityRama as a child theme (with the full Qibla theme as the parent) be a way to accomplish what I am looking for? If not, would the CityRama theme play nicely with the basic/free version of the Qibla directory that is available as a plug-in? Qibla’s theme is better for directories but it also has some serious browser compatibility issues right now. I am looking for the best of both worlds (if that is possible).

Hi,

Theme us using WP Job manager plugin, and it is not possible to use another plugin without modifications, sorry :(

Hey,

I’m not finding information on how to set up accepting payments in the install doc. What plugin do I need and how do I set it up?

Hello,

For the paid listings, our theme is compatible with this plugin: https://wpjobmanager.com/add-ons/wc-paid-listings/ If you purchase this plugin, you’ll also need to install WooCommerce, which will allow you to create listing packages: https://www.screencast.com/t/3roAPsrtepBy

Can you please provide instructions on how to set this up (along with the ability to claim listings)? I didn’t seen any info regarding this in the install doc.

Hi, Considering the current resources, how can I create a URL with your theme from a search, like this: mysite/rentals/united-states/newyork/queens/long-island-city/jackson-avesingle/bedroom

Thanks, Best Regards

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Cityrama! Unfortunately it’s not possible to do this. Changing it would require some custom coding that goes beyond the scope of our support system.
