Hi, Im using v2.16.3
After login.. header show the name of the account. Then when I click home, the name of the account is not there anymore.. i show a login link.
At first I thought i logout. But when I go to checkout or whishlist.. the header shows the account name again. Means it is not logout at all.
Is there any setting to fix it?
And what is the best setting to keep my website fast to load? And how to do it?

That is the case if your issue or question is not related to our theme but rather to the Opencart system itself.
You must be familiar with the Opencart platform to use this theme. Journal is not an ecommerce solution itself. This is just a theme design which you add on top of the existing ecommerce platform Opencart.
Our support does not include any general Opencart bugs or issues, for those you must access the Opencart documentation or official forum.
We have assisted people on more than 30.000 tickets, however it’s important to distinguish between what is theme related and what are Opencart issues.

If with Journal the site is very slow and without a journal it’s very fast, maybe it’s not a platform problem. But I’m not expert. If with the quick checkout of the journal the custom fields are not stored and with the standard checkout yes, maybe it is not an opencart problem. But I’m not an expert. Since I installed this theme, maybe because of these slowdowns my sales have collapsed. But I’m not an expert. If you answered 30,000 tickets, does that mean that journal had 30,000 problems?
No, it means that’s how many questions people asked in the last 5 years. This is a huge project and it’s been the top selling Opencart theme every single week for the last 5 years in a row, it has actually INCREASED people’s sales many times over.
With that said, every situation is unique, and if it’s something that is theme related our developers will investigate and give you the best solution.
It’s possible that some features in a custom theme may not work on IE (that’s the most problematic browser) but since they work fine in other browsers that kind of answers your question already: it’s a browser issue.
Solutions may be to disable certain features or modules that are not supported well by that browser (features that are also not present in the default theme – which in turn falsely leads you to believe it’s a Journal theme issue when you compare the two).
So just communicate with our developers and as already mentioned they will help you out if it’s something that can be done – as they’ve helped thousands of other people throughout the years.

Hi, no that’s not something on our list at this time but we’ll look into if in the future.
However, Journal 3 fully supports dedicated mobile options, you can set up entirely different designs for desktop/tablet or phone. Different headers on mobile, different modules via the status feature, etc.

please confirm.
No, you don’t lose your catalog data. You just apply the theme on top of your existing data. When you import your desired demo do not include store data in your export and you only get the theme design and modules.
You can do a test installation at first on a cloned store locally to see how it works, but it will not replace your products.

I did not say that, your extensions may not work and we don’t provide support for them. I am only referring to your catalog (categories, products, etc).
Any 3rd party extensions you use may need to be adapted to work with custom themes. This applies to any custom theme, not just Journal, so make sure you consult with the extension developers and ask if they support custom themes.

Hello, I have a problem with infinite scroll in category page. I have 21 products per page, after loading aprox. 30-40 pages they load very slow. At a moment my browser stop responding. Hi again, that is normal actually, the more pages you have the slower it will get. Your server performance dictates how this performs but if you have lots of products as in your case you can expect some performance penalty. You can always turn the infinite scroll OFF so that the normal pagination is back. This will load a clean page every time thus can have unlimited pages, but you can’t have that on the same page loaded with ajax without any performance hit.
In any case, we’ve improved the engine in this regard in our next theme Journal 3 but that will require valid support if you need assistance from our developers.

Hi, yes in Journal 3 there is automated email reply as well as an optional checkbox after the newsletter field so that user can agree to your terms before subscribing. We’ll also be adding this field to the Journal 2 newsletter, however the automated email is only available in J3.

The Theme is not SEO friendly. also there is not support document for SEO url. Tried all the possible ways but the SEO URL is not seen. Turned on System>under store>server> turned of SEO Url but it didnt worked.

Well, you’re using Journal already on your store to you must have purchased it from someone. You’d need to first purchase from Themeforest to legally own a license code in your name and then file a ticket on our support page.

Yes, you can use either Opencart 2 or Opencart 3 with Journal, it will work the same with both versions. All 15 demos are compatible with both versions. Also, the new Journal 3 theme coming very soon will also support both Opencart versions.
