that symbol is not from the theme and is probably from one of our plugins like translation plugin (maybe).
Try disabling all your plugins one by one till the problem is gone to locate what causes that symbol to show.

Hi there, thank you for your interest in the Definity theme.
Currently, the theme is fully functional with the latest WP version and it will be functional on WP 5, but without Gutenberg support (the new WP editor) – you can still continue to use the old (current) editor and keep using the theme without any problems.

Hi there,
yes, the theme it is compatible with the latest WordPress version. Only not compatible thing in theme is Gutenberg, (will be updated for that in near future also).

From your link it looks like you’ve solved your problem, if not:
Configure the Theme Options > Header (navigation);
Delete the main menu, create a new one and add items and set correct menu location.
That should do it.

Also about the problem, this is not a theme problem and sounds like a hosting problem also, can be possibly one or more of the following:
Your website got hacked; / Auto updated the WordPress without a backup to return to; / Your hosting got misconfigured /
If you have a backup on a server level configured – use it to get back to a working version.

There’s probably something simple I am missing but I have enabled the Extended menu in order to load my language switcher. (WPML) I have created a separate menu called “language” and chosen this menu to appear in “Extended Menu – Right” and made sure only this menu was selected.
This is where the problem lies because this also loads the all the loose main menu items into the Extended Menu.
If you horizontal scroll far right and click on the French flag, the Extended Menu displays correctly, but not on the default English. I get the same result even if I disable the Language plugin.

Hi, Trust you are well?
Currently I have the first navigation (header) option so the nav and logo overlay the slider below them, so I am using a negative logo version.
When I navigate to another page that doesn’t have the slider I need the logo to swap to a positive version. Is this something you can direct me on?
What do you mean by negative and positive? The logo must be one image that will be used on all pages.
basically I want to use a different color logo on some of the pages. How can I achieve that?
You can’t. The header (navigation) is the same element shared on all pages.

How can I adjust height of full width video element? I can’t find this parameter.
I have video background header on page: http://redcomm.eu/naszeportfolio/ This is revolution slider copied from full width video demo site header. But for me is too tall. I want to keep page title video background height at the same height, like page titles on the other pages – i.e: http://redcomm.eu/services/ or http://redcomm.eu/about-us/.
Tried via Slider Revolution->Slide Layout->Layer Grid Size/Custom Grid size but without success. Am I missing something? Could you guide me how to manage it? (if there any CSS elements to add, please tell me what and where)

Another reply to myself. Problem solved. But another question – is there any retina support within theme? I mean for example main logo – is there an option to load logo for retina displays? The same with other graphics – I have my own graphics on main page slider – can I have retina version?

For all questions regarding the Slider Revolution, check the plugin documentation.
For the logo, there is only one logo option in the theme for simplicity.

Hi, I would like to add the Hire us link (consulting demo) as described in the manual. Unfortunately when trying to do what you describe it does not show some fields like the css classes (optional). It shows only the 2 fields: URL and navigation label. How can I extend settings accordingly?

To show the CSS filed in the Menus > (at the top right) Screen Options > check CSS Classes
Than a filed for CSS class will show like in the help file images.

Hi! Just a simple question!
I can´t find the portfolio item in visual composer. For example: When I try to select a default template in new page, all the option appears (services, clients, blog, etc.) but there is no portfolio options.
I already install definity portfolio plugin and appears on wp dashboard, there is no problem with that.

Make sure all the required plugins are installed, Definty Elements, Definity Portfolio and WP Bakery Page Builder especially.
Do not set default template in a new page, always use Visual Composer for everything in the theme.
There is no special portfolio template you can create any page in any way you like it to be a portfolio page. When all the required plugins are installed just add new portoflio item and then list them with a Portfolio element form the Page Builder.

Hi,
I have problem with demo content import. Tried to import version 1.0, followed step by step according to documentation. After message “All done. Have fun!” from importer I can see, that only small part of the content is visible and most of the pages are missing (no home page etc) Only Blog page is visible. (see: http://redcomm.eu)
On the other hand – tried to install demo content from version 2.0 (consulting) and there was no problem – demo content works.
What could went wrong?
Reply to myself… After WordPress database reset (done with plugin) succeeded to import version 1.0 content. Not 100% perfect (i.e.: mess with menu) but pages are imported and I can work on them to fill with my content.

I am glad that you’ve solve your problem.
The WP default importer doesn’t import menus (at least correctly), just delete them and create your own menus. The same goes for the other pages – from v1.0 all demos and pages are imported, simply delete all the pages that you won’t use.

Hi, I have just installed the definity theme and wanted to use the consulting demo. It is by 95% what I need and assumed that installing the demo (either via WordPress Importer or Theme Importer as described in the manual) would show me exactly the demo I am after. Unfortunately this does not happen. a) It does not update 15-20minutes as described but rather a couple of seconds and b) it requires tons of customization. Can you please try to let me know how I can create an exact copy of the demo?

The Consulting demo is from v2.0 so the import files are located in assets > demo > demo v2.0
The steps to import are the following:
1) Install all the plugins required, especially Definity Elements.
2) Install and run the default WP importer (which doesn’t import the menus, just the content) – Tools > Import > WP > Install Now
3) Import the Redux (theme options settings) for the theme – Theme Options > Import/Export.
Notes: Running import for a single demo is fast (v2.0), that 15-20 min is for (v1.0) which imports all the demos from v1.0;
Running the same import multiple times may break the site or create duplicate content. Best is to import on clean WP install.
After, import delete all the pages, posts and media that you won’t use.

I hope you are well. I bought the Definity theme some months ago but never completed my setup on my website. I installed test data etc to see how it works. My challenge right now is I have committed time to completed the installation and customization of the theme but the Slider Revolution Plugin is requesting activation and thus preventing key functions from working. Please assist.

Just ignore the activation message, the plugin is fully working and is included with the theme for free. You need to buy the plugin on your own if you want to activate it yourself.

Hello, I use the Portfolio Masonry Grid display and configure the portfolio item with media type = image and link with an external URL. It works perfectly on a PC but not on phones. I can not click the portfolio item link on my phone and the hover effect does not happen. It seems to be the same problem with the portfolio section in your demo page : http://themes.89elements.com/definity-wp/mp-agency-2/
Is there any way to fix it ?
Hi there, there was an update that addresses this specific problem but it was only applied to the non-masonry portfolio layouts. The masonry layouts will be fixed in the following update.

you can’t add links in the copyright section without editing the theme code. You can do that modification in footer.php file, if you can’t do it yourself, share(via email) wp admin details and ftp access and I will do it for you – but you must renew your expires support first.

THAT’S WAS THE PROBLEM
I’d like to use the “recent blog posts” component in WPBakery Page Builder. Everything works fine if I choose the 3 posts layout, but if I set (for example) 6 blog posts, the layout appears to be broken!
I expect 3 blog post in a row + 3 post in the row below… but no way!
3 post in the first row + 1 post in the second one + 2 in the last… Maybe it’s not supposed to be like that!
Same problem in Safari and Firefox (even on a totally blank page with no customization or other element at all). Can you help me?

Recently Google made changes to their product Google Maps from a free to a paid product and now in order to use the Google Maps, you will need to pay monthly for the usage of the maps.
They require now to create API key and add billing to that account from where the API key is created in order the maps to work.
From the WP backend when you edit the maps element – click the link where it says generate API key, create your account and add billing data in order the map to show again.
