Is this theme Wordpress 5.0 ready? I want to update my site and just want to make sure.

Hi, My friend and I just bought this plugin (on his account). When we install it into WP on our server (site5) we get no option asking to install any plugins. Also, I have searched everywhere for ‘podcast helper’ plugin, it does not exist anywhere. How do I get the plugin so the theme will work? please help!
Hi, please follow the theme documentation on how to initially install the theme. The Podcast Helper plugin is bundled inside the theme and you’ll be promoted to install it once you activate them theme or you can manually do it via Appearance > Install Plugins. Great template Liviu! I have some questions (apologies, I am an amateur with WP, they might be very easy ones): - In my episodes section the actual episodes uploaded (so far two) no longer appear but something like a blog appears (which I had erased) - How can I hide the “New Stuff Each Week” section with links to Amazon, iTunes and Spotify? Can´t seem to find it! - What´s the “Live Now” button on the top right supposed to do? How can I hide it? - On the Social Menu on top and on the places were it says “Suscribe” the links are correct to Apple Podcast, Google, Spotify and RSS but on the main page were the last episode appears on big I can click play and hear the mp3 uploaded but the Apple Podcast, Google, Spotify and RSS buttons go to your stuff and can´t find were to edit.

Hi, thank you for your purchase – it is best you use the Support channel because this is more of a pre-sales questions section.
Make sure you set the template on the Episodes page and avoid the Settings > Readings > Posts page set to this page (create a separate page for the blog). The footer section “New Stuff Each Week” can be edited/removed from the Appearance > Customize > Footer Banner secton. The “Live Now” is a call to action button which also can be managed from the Customizer and it is used to link to an important page or external service (use it as you see fit as it supports HTML or shortcodes). You can edit the featured area text by simply editing the homepage > Featured Area Additional Text field.

My pleasure, the last sentence answers your question: you can edit the featured area text (which contains those custom buttons) by simply editing the homepage > Featured Area Additional Text field.

Hello, love this theme, thank you! Question: I don’t want the colour overlay on the homepage header image. I can see where to turn it off in the cutomizer, but it keeps reverting back when the page refreshes. What can you suggest?
Hi, thank you for your purchase and kind words. Indeed the overlay can be hidden using the Customize > Header Media > Overlay Opacity option set to 0 and publishing the changes. You can individually override this option using CSS (via Customize > Additional CSS), so for no overlay on the homepage you can use this CSS snippet:

Hi, I’m considering this template and since I have already been running a podcast hosted on Simplecast.fm so far, I would like to know how you would recommend to actually integrate another RSS to be shown in the post instead of uploading an audio file again ?
Hi, thank you for your interest. You can continue to use your existent podcast host and import the episodes (via RSS) into your website. There is no need to add episodes and upload audio files all over again, since the theme can use external sources to render the episodes (and fetch any audio from your existent host). Hi, thank you for your interest – yes, a sticky menu option is available. The menu gets its “sticky” position when you scroll below the featured area and it is available on tablets and desktop screens.

Hi! Is there a reason that the player for an episode would show up in the podcast category listing but not on the homepage or on the individual podcast’s page? Trying to figure out what step I’m missing here.
Hi, make sure you check the category for the episode to match that of the category set when editing the episodes and homepage templates (Page Category field). I am interested in this Template, and I wanted to know, if I am hosting a VIDEO PODCAST, can this template be set up to host / embed a video embed or direct video integration? In addition, based on this current preview site, how is the current MEDIA set up? Are these pulling from audio and video uploaded to the server or are you using embedded files?
Hi, thank you for your interest. The theme is mainly designed for audio podcasts for the RSS feed, but you can also host videos using default WordPress methods. The preview uses direct links to audio files, which can be local to the site or a remote URL, no embeds. Hope this helps.

Hi, please check the Episode Audio URL of an imported item (when editing it) and make sure it is a proper audio file (by opening it in a new tab, it should be a direct link, not a redirect). As you can see in the RSS provided by Audiostaq, it contains 2 different URL for each item. 1 is the enclosure media, and the other one is media:content. Screenshot: https://d.pr/i/P9H4IH
The problem is when using the theme it use the media:content element for my feed (so an image is shown instead of the mp3) while it should take the enclosure I think.
The same feed works great with Powerpress plugin, but not with your theme.

Hi,
I see, the generated RSS doesn’t really use best practices (which I won’t go into detail here) but we can find a workaround for this situation to use the first enclosure (as it contains 2 enclosures, the media tag is an enclosure too). Anyway, the first enclosure links to an invalid audio file which contains some kind of redirect mechanism. Try to open the first RSS item enclosure link to see what I mean https://feed.audiostaq.com/channels/c167/b43a8e45-675a-43ce-9247-a3d6f6fec28c.mp3?s=rss&p=false
I will update the import code to obtain the first enclosure, no problem. Please check for theme update v1.1.7 and also for the bundled Podcast Helper plugin v1.0.5 (update it via Appearance > Install Plugins, after updating the theme) to see the changes.

Hi, thank you for your interest. I have not tested compatibility with the PowerPress plugin. The theme uses its own personal custom made solution for podcasting and doesn’t require the use of any external podcast plugin. You are able to migrate an existent podcast to Castilo with a simple import process and remove any dependencies with external services. Hope this helps.
Powerpress is a wp plugin. So this means that if we want to use this theme will need to create the podcast from scratch?
does it sends automaticly data to other podcast services? like spotify google podcasts. itunes, etc?
Your podcast can be created from scratch or use an existent feed. As I explained in the previous message, the theme offers a simple podcast import process for existent podcasts. The theme generates a valid RSS feed so you’ll be able to submit your podcast to any service like iTunes, Google Play, etc. Hope this helps.
Nice theme. Have the theme any tool to animate SVG logos, as yours (the three lines above the “i”), that fade in and out? Did you animate it INSIDE the theme? How?

Thank you for your interest in the theme. The logo is a SVG file which has internal animation, as you can see when you view it’s source code. The animation was created manually, the theme contains the option to upload and set a custom logo file, but it’s up to you to decide and create the logo source file. You can find plenty of online resources on how to acheive this inside a SVG file.

The theme, as it is right now, generates a single RSS feed. It is already planned to add multiple RSS feed support in future updates. Hope this helps.
