Hello,
I have installed Aardvark- BuddyPress, Membership & Community Theme and when I opened it without maintenance, I saw that the web was white. In the administrator mode I can work with it without a problem.
In my host I had the PHP a 7 and I changed it to 7.2 but It doesnt work.
I need help urgently!!

Hi. I bought this but am a little annoyed to discover there’s no free version of Sensei available and you have to shell out $130 to get it. Not only that, but you need a subscription key for each installation. I often make sites and abandon a project or part of it, so I don’t want to pay over $100 for something and find out it doesn’t work for me or the project doesn’t. Wish you had been more transparent that this is not a cheap plugin and must be purchased in order to work w/ your theme. I already purchased LearnDash awhile back and never used it. You haven’t tested your theme w/ any of the free LMS out there so not sure I can even use this. I prefer to test a free one and then determine if I want to upgrade to the paid version. What are the options if we don’t want to buy Sensei? (I prefer to stay away from Woocommerce generally.)

I’m not sure how I could have been anymore transparent – I mention that Sensei is a premium plugin three times on the item page!
If you’re already purchased the theme (although the account you posted from hasn’t), why not test the free LMS plugin you’re using and see if it works with Aaardvark?
I’m sure most will.
I will also look into adding support for a free course plugin in the future. The reason this hasn’t been done yet is because this is not just a courses theme, it’s also a BuddyPress, community, ecommerce theme so lots of plugins have to be supported and it takes time to test each one and support the changes with each plugin update.
Sorry, major blunder on my part. I was considering this vs. another and I bought the other. Shew. Glad I didn’t buy it! However, the premium part is in the fine print – nowhere in the big 24 and 32 pt. font with the glitzy pics and colors touting all the benefits of Sensei. Just all the way down at the bottom with all the straight text. I’m def. not interested in shelling out $129 for a plugin I may or may not use. Thanks and sorry for the mix-up, but hope my point is helpful. Put an * next to it at the very least to tell people to read the details. Usually if developers go through that much work, there’s a free version of the premium plugin for people to install and try out.

The theme uses the WooCommerce plugin which supports stripe.
The theme uses Sensei for courses (you need to buy this plugin). It does not have donation functionality by default.

1. Can Submit Article feature be added in any of the demo? 2. Can elements / layouts of one demo be used in other demo?

2) Yes. These are just examples of what you can do. You can import all these demos as they currently look, or edit them and add elements from another demo etc.

1) Yes, frontend submission for posting standard “posts”, there is no portfolio post type.
2) No, you can enable/disable the current fields you see, but cannot add new fields without editing the theme code.

Thanks for the clarification. One last point before making purchase, is there option of showing User Submitted Articles in user profile ? Basically a section in user profile where all his Submitted Articles can be seen.
There is an option to create your own page which will display all the user created articles for the user, however this is not connected to the BuddyPress user profile page.
I’m looking to use this theme as a mix of “membership” and “members directory” demos. Can I: 1. Allow members to attribute multiple “skills” to their profile and restrict the number based on membership level?
Ie: free level : 1 skill . Premium : up to 3 etc ?
2. Can certain features be locked via membership level as well? (Or file sharing, groups etc?)

The theme uses the Paid Membership Pro and the PMPro BuddyPress Addon to restrict BuddyPress features depending on the membership level,. You can test these on your own site for free.
The plugin does allow you to lock specific BP features e.g. groups, profile pages, messaging etc. (file sharing is not a BP feature so I’d need more info on what you’re referring to?). However you can’t restrict the ability to create skills on a users profile page – you would need to customize the theme/plugin to do this.

No, you need to create a Skills profile field yourself. This will be imported in the theme demos already using it though.

Hi there, I have a quick question that I hope you can help with. I love all of the theme options and notice that you can select whether or not to have a sidebar for members page from the theme options page as well as whether or not to have a sidebar for the profile page. However, there only seems to be one dropdown to select from for both members page and profile page if you set both to right or left sidebar. Is there any way to have the members page and the profile page set to right sidebar and each have its own sidebar? Thank you! great theme!

1. I went through the Dating and Network demos and noticed that the profiles state: “I am a” – “Seeking” – “Looking for” ... Are those taxonomies that can be customized to other criteria? If so, are we limited to 3 options or can we add/remove some? This same question applies to the other parts of the profiles such as Interests, Bio Info, Physical attributes, etc (Are they predefined or can we change them to something else?) example: Website link,
2. Is there a feature that acts like a “Shout-box” somewhere or a live update from the Members that can be widgetized? I see the Activity tab and also the post updates displayed
3. Events: Can the Members (based on membership levels) create public or private events? If so, is it possible to display the author of the event creator? so far, It’s only visible once we click on the event, I guess the focus is more geographic and event category, but still, would that be possible?
4. Behaviour monitoring: Is there any monitoring or flagging actions included? For instance, if one user wants to flag a comment or a post, how can they go by doing so?
5. Activity filtering: Besides the default ones, can a user filter activities based on their circle of friends only? So far, it seems the only way to do so is to go on each friend’s profile to see their latest activity.
6. Are there any email notifications that get sent out to users whenever someone interacts with their profiles?
7. What are the server requirements if we’re talking about let’s say, 1000 fully active users onboard?

1) These are just custom profile fields which you can create with the BuddyPress plugin. So the field are not predefined, you can add any fields you want. You can test BuddyPress on any theme for free to see this functionality.
2) As in a chat box? The theme doesn’t have this feature, you would just need to use one of the many chat box plugins: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/chat+box/
3) Not that I’m aware. The event functionality seen in the theme uses the Events Manager plugin so I would suggest asking them about this.
4) You would need to find a plugin that adds these features.
5) As the admin you can filter the activity to only show the current users friends feed, but the user themselves cannot do this from the main activity feed..
6) Interacts in what way? I suggest testing BuddyPress for yourself as this all relates to the BuddyPress plugin.
7) Theme requirements:

One thing I forgot to ask, for the Membership checkouts, what are the options when it comes to the payment gateways? And does this portion involve the extended license since we’re “selling” memberships?
No you do not need an extended license for commercial uses of the theme – this is only required if you use the theme on multiple domains.

My support has run out, but I want to raise one thing with you if possible as I love the theme but having massive problems with speed.
I am losing members and also not attracting new people due to how slow the site is, I’ve removed certain plugins that I needed, increased the web server resources, put a caching system in but not having any luck on why it’s so slow and I am putting it down to the theme…
I need it to load within a few seconds but it takes around 10-15 seconds… which is killing the site…
Any chance you can help for this once instance as you have helped previously but I am happy with everything just the speed is very detrimental. I have had this issue since the start but been trying to resolve it myself by doing a few things from my end…

Sorry about the delay in response, I have tried all the routes you have sent. Put a cache, reduce and optimise images, I have reduced plugins present to what I literally need as part of theme removing everything else and also paid for a better server but nothing is happening…
Really struggling here as it takes around 20 seconds to load which with any business kills customers… how else can you help as the theme is good up to a point but this has really limited it…

1. Is it possible to combine the menus from different demos? E.g. the Network sliding menu with the original demo? 2. The network demo. The sliding menu on the left. The button to close the menu is not fixed on my Galaxy S9+ you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the menu to close it. Can this be fixed if I buy this?

Hi! Does the theme allow redirection to the user profile or activity feed? It seems to allow redirect to a specific page or if nothing selected, redirects to the same page user logs in from. There does not appear to be an option for the user’s own profile or activity feed. Is there an option to do this?

Hi! I’d like to use PMPro to make “private messages” be a premium functionality, and offer a free functionality where users can answer messages (if a premium user write them) but they cannot compose any message or contact directly other users.
I think that PMPro only offers the option to block full access to message option.
Is that customization possible with your theme?

2) Yes Aardvark follows the WordPress coding standards.
