Hello, I would like to know if the administrator can have control over what the employer publishes, the candidate, first, go through the administrator’s filter and accept the publications or assign candidates to the employer, also if possible, just show some data of the candidate and hide others.
regards
Hi
as and admin you can of course control content of other users, but there’s no filtering of candidates.
Hi! Great Theme, I’m loving IT! Just a question: When I try to apply for a job there is a popup which tells me to send a mail… How can I change it by a form (like on the demo?) Many thanks
Hi
thanks! You can use https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-job-manager-contact-listing/ or the official add-on https://wpjobmanager.com/add-ons/applications/
It is important for employer branding.
There’s this plugin that can add something like that https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-job-manager-companies/ but with the current Gutenberg it has some JS problems. I’m thinking of developing our own solution for company pages
Hi team, would like to ask several questions.
1) I saw that the search bar in sidebar of Blog page is directing to different result page compare to the search bar in home page and job listings. Is there a way to direct that blog search bar to the same result with the job search one?
2) I ask about Favicon issue in my site before. Here what I found out more about that: the Favicon is exist in admin dashboard pages and page with direct parent to the homepage such as tahunterbaik.id/jobs. (except the blog site: tahunterbaik.id/blog)
Do you know what happen? Have you test on your own demo sites? because I saw there is no favicon too there.
I already set up the Icon in the customizer.
Thanks, D
Hi
ad1. Blog search is for searching posts and pages content, not for jobs search.
ad2. Favicon is actually a core functionality from WordPress, it’s not change or affected in any way by WorkScout theme (and we just don’t use favicons on our demos)
I am currently on 1.5.09—I see new version available .. Best way to update? Shall I just FTP new theme and switch over?
Hi
you can use the Envato Market option you should have in your wp-admin menu, but if that won’t work overwriting with FTP is also a solution
Hi,
Any plans for WPML support?
Yes, it partially works now but it’s not 100% compatible yet
What need to be done in order to make this theme 100% compatible? I also send you an email. Answer me there.
Hi. Could you tell how I can add a link to “Privacy policy page” on the registration page? I use WooCommerce as a registration engine.
Hi. Have you missed my question?
Hi
sorry. If you’ve set a Privacy Page in Settings-> Privacy, it will be automatically added to the WooCommerce registration form,
Thank you. And one more question: if there is an opportunity to add a link to privacy policy page to website footer, for example to a Copyright text line or somewhere near it?
Sure, copyright text can be edited in Customize -> Footer Options, you can use there html tags
This theme does use jQuery Waypoints – v2.0.3 which is from 2013 and not supported anymore. It is not supported by jQuery anymore. Because of this, Wordpress need to run jQuery Migrate which needs extras server load, decreases the performance … The github repo says also not supported anymore (https://github.com/imakewebthings/jquery-waypoints). This JS could also be a security risk. Why not finding a better solution and getting rid of expired JS functions. I payed for this theme and thought I get latest software.
Again another old JS is included in the theme and issues warnings and errors: this theme includes stick.js in version 1.6.0. It is from 2016. It has over 800 issues at github (https://github.com/kenwheeler/slick/releases). This JS version ist not supported by the jQuery version and Wordpress version Because of this, Wordpress need to run jQuery Migrate which needs extras server load, decreases the performance … This JS could also be a security risk. Why not finding a better solution and getting rid of expired JS functions. I payed for this theme and thought I get latest software. I want to get rid of the jQuery migrate mode and JS file, I do need a software with lastest plugins. Thank you for your support.
Hi
I’m not sure now why are we using waypoints, I’ll look into this, it probably could be removed. As for slick.js we don’t have any issue with that and the number of issues on their github page is not a factor for anything, it rather says how popular the script is. WordPress has 350+ issues on their tracker for last 2 months, does it mean we shouldn’t use it?
And the effect the jQuery Migrate has on the performance is not that big, have you tried removing the migrate plugin? it’s not loaded by our theme, WordPress does that by default since version 3.6
Hi, at this moment the job category filter is like this: https://imgur.com/a/VPaSChF
But the job types filter is with checkboxes. It’s both a multiselect, but it’s not very consistent. Is it possible to make the job category also in checkboxes in stead of a dropdown multiselect, because that is most clear and user friendly for visitors.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Peter
Hi Peter
technically it is possible, but there’s a lot more JS involved in that, not just simple checkbox to select box change, so that would require more complex modification and at this moment I don’t have easy solution for that.
Ah too bad, maybe in the future! Thanks for the reply. I do have another problem:
The search box on the homepage is not working anymore. No Jobs are coming up on the browse jobs page either. Here is the link: http://mf.tijdelijk-voor-testen.nl/vacatures/archief/
When I just use the [jobs] shortcode it works, but the default page for browse jobs in WP Job Manager is not working and the search bar on the homepage can only link to the default browse jobs page. I use the following versions: - Workscout: 1.5.1.2 - WP Job Manager: 1.32.1
How to fix this? Thanks again!
Please send me admin access to your WordPress via Support Tab, I’ll check what’s wrong
Perfect, done!
Hi
you were just missing [jobs] shortcode on that page
WorkScout Registration does not work. I receive the error “You forgot about captcha”. This is only displayed if you click on Sign Up after the modal window is closed. Not very intuitive.
I see that you said you are working on a fix (18 days ago). Is this ready yet? I do not need WooCommerce and would rather not have to enable it purely for the registration
Hi, sorry about that delay, update is ready I’m uploading it right now.
Hi team,
I would like to customize my blog interface a bit. I have 2 questions:
1) I want to increase the size of my paragraph font, because it looks quite small compare to the one in your blog. How can I do that? But, I only want to change the font size in blog post only.
This is my blog post example: https://tahunterbaik.id/2019/01/28/3-aplikasi-yang-membuat-pencarian-kerjamu-jadi-lebih-rapi-dan-terstruktur/ This is your blog post that I refer to: https://workscout.in/2015/10/how-to-woo-a-recruiter-and-land-your-dream-job/
2) Is it possible to remove sidebar from blog post?
Thanks.
More details, I want to give clear difference between post background and page background.
There are 3 options, 1) Create post outline and the sideline outline (just like this Themeforest discussion/comment section, there is outline gray color that border comment area and sidebar area). 2) Change the background page color
I would like to have the 1st one, is there a way to make it happen?
Hi
ad1. I see you’ve already modified the CSS to increase the font size, there are also some basic typography options in Customize -> Typography
ad2. Edit workscout/single.php and remove <?php get_sidebar(); ?> and change<div class="eleven columns"> to <pre><div class="sixteen columns"> ad3. That's a CSS customisation and that's not in theme support scope, sorry.</div></pre></div>
Hi , is there a FAQ or help link on how to 1. enable candidate registration and cv submission and 2. register new companies and enable them to advertise their jobs
Hi
Our documentation is here http://docs.purethemes.net/workscout/
to enable registration you need to enable it first in your WordPress -> Settings -> General -> Membership -> Anyone Can Register
You can’t register companies, it’s the users who are registered as employers that can add jobs
thanks will try that
Hi.
pre-sale question:
Is it possible to make a customized field in Resume form with “tick”. For example: Have a drive license ☑
And after employer will search according filter “Drive license” and those candidates will be shown?
Hi
there’s no built-in editor for those fields but it’s possible to do this using different methods, please check https://wpjobmanager.com/document/resume-manager-editing-submission-fields/ and https://wpjobmanager.com/document/editing-job-submission-fields/
Hi, i am a non-techie and have started a new recruitment business. The website is currently hosted via one.com that has very basic effectiveness so keen to use the wordpress option. My question is—how difficult is it to customise this template and then copy the codes. one.com has advised that i can use wordpress based templates.
Hi
what do you mean by “copy the codes”? One.com is a hosting provider from what I see and you can install WorkScout on WordPress installation hosted on your one.com account. Theme customisation doesn’t have any relation with where the site is hosted. And to answer “how difficult is it to customise this template” I’d need to know what you want to achieve with your website and what changes need to be made
thanks for the help. was able to integrate wordpress with one.com
Hi, I want to build a website for an exam recruitment agency.
The requirements are that, after an applicant submits his data for a job vacancy, he should get a pdf admit card (consisting his photo & filled details) after some days (or when administrator wants) by logging into his account.
Is this theme eligible for this purpose?
Hi
there’s no such functionality in theme, this is rather specific custom requirement and I doubt you’ll find any theme that has is.
Presale Questions
1. Can we add more text and content to the company page? like company description & social links? (either by employer or administrator)
2. Even when an employer is registered does it need to fill company details again and again to post multiple jobs? seems bit redundant. Does it support autofill?
3. Does this theme support shortcode of filtered jobs? I like to create pages such as “best banking jobs in xxx city” and I will create page with article and at the bottom, I like to show jobs which matching this criteria dynamically.
Cheers
Hi
ad1. No, it’s pretty limited right now
ad2. No, the company data is saved in user meta after first time he submits jobs and then the form is pre-filled for those inputs
ad3. To some extend yes it does that
I am really interested in purchasing this theme and only think which is stopping me is to have company pages such as this. http://jobboard.inwavethemes.com/employer/canware/
This is very important from SEO perspective. Is there any chance to getting this added?
We’re thinking about our solution for that, for now we have only something like this https://workscout.in/company/King%20LLC/ added by this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-job-manager-companies/
Hey, two questions, one, is it possible to get it so someone picks their own password? 2. Is it possible to change the text of the email that goes out when someone signs up to take out the bit about loggin in to the admin area?
Anything on this one?
Hi
sorry for delay, I’ve been sick past couple days.
ad1. It is if you choose WooCommerce for registration, you have option in WooCommerce Settings -> Accounts, uncheck ” When creating an account, automatically generate an account password”
ad2. If you ask that I assume you’re using WorkScout registration instead of WooCommerce (both will be ditched soon for new system), the email is in workscout/inc/registration.php function workscout_wp_new_user_notification
two more issues on the checkout page the checkout page when you click the terms you see the wp bakery code on top and bottom of page text=”Our terms of use” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]
The following terms mean The customer, contractor or company means any party or third party that purchases services from us.
This is not technically an issue more of a query I have created job packages but want to let new users post the first three jobs for free, is there a way of doing with this wc paid listings
Hi
regarding the first issue, I guess you shouldn’t use Page Builder on that terms page.
as for limiting job packages we don’t have functionality for that, it would require custom modification.
how do you edit the /post a job page/ where you choose a package as want to put prices in there but can’t seem to find where it pulls these from.
greg
Here to be exact https://nationaltradesmen.co.uk/post-a-job/
You need this add-on https://wpjobmanager.com/add-ons/wc-paid-listings/ and create “Job Listing Package” type products in WooCommerce
Yes have that plugin but still cant find where to change the text to make it obvious about the pricing regards greg
Got it WooCommerce /products/ scroll down
Hey guys, I have two more questions: 1. I use the WP Job Manager Predefined Regions plugin which works great on the default job listing page. But when I use the shortcode [jobs] and enabeling the filters, it looks like in the URL below: there is a text search bar for regions and the dropdown for regions is below. I need only the dropdown but this dropdown is not working anymore after the latest update of WPJM and the Predefined Regions. Here is the URL: http://mf.tijdelijk-voor-testen.nl/vacatures/civiele-techniek/
Because the default job listing page is working correct, I think there is something wrong with the Workscout shortcode. Can you fix this?
2. The second question is also about regions: I need to add a region filter on the frontend where visitors can select multiple regions to filter the jobs in the job listing page. Like using checkboxes or something like that. How can we achieve this?
Many Thanks!
