I wish that when a visitor tried to listen to some tracks, he was invited to choose a subscription plan. Is it possible to do this in this theme?
Hello and thanks for your interesting request. For the moment the theme has no systems to limit the access to he podcasts. It is one topic of discussion for our further improvements, anyway can’t provide any precise news about this.

Hello Jonathan, thanks for your precious request. Sad to say that we developed a full integration, together with a script able to import all of the podcasts from a mixcloud account into the podcasts of WordPress, but such type of importing was blocked some time ago, making it impossible to reach the file url of the mp3.
This made all of our efforts vain and actually the mp3 files has be be uploaded in WordPress normally.
Our idea was to streamline the work providing an automated tool, but because of a few malicious users that abused of this possibility, it’s been blocked and now unavailable.
You can still import podcasts from any valid rss feed, if you have any, with powerpress or with ssp plugins, which are fully compatible.
I understand is a big kiss, but any SoundCloud and mixcloud importing process is now in the same boat…

This is a great theme, but I was wondering if we could use the mouse over layout of the “share” layout used in the “fresh posts” on the featured banners as well?
Similarly, I would like to display the Author’s social media links with a mouse over layout for the author cards and display multiple links for the “Follow” button on the “Series Card” as well.

Hi, as the theme comes with the general GPL license, you have the rights to customize every part of the provided code, but the support does not cover changes to achieve different functionalities or templates other than the ones included in the product.
I’m about to buy the theme, but in the live preview I notice a problem with Ajax, when I’m listening to an audio and then I move on to another page and I give play to another audio the previous audio continues playing. I have to press the “play” button twice to reproduce the corresponding audio, I think that’s wrong … are you aware of the problem? will they solve it in a new version? I want to buy the theme!
Hello and thanks for your kind message. I just did personally a test trying to reproduce what you mention but it seems I wasn’t able or maybe the process wasn’t correct.
If there is any similar issue which wasn’t discovered yet, we will for sure fix it super fast, we just need to be able to reproduce it.
We are by the way doing some server improvements today, and I’m a bit afraid it could have been caused by caching conflicts (old files on the server being loaded instead of correct ones).
Can you please send us an email at info@qantumthemes.com with more info about how to reproduce the issue? Like server, link of the page, or anything you would like?
I can promise for sure anyway that IF any issue is there, it will be 100% fixed in the next theme release within a week.

The problem I uploaded to this video https://youtu.be/FfzIi_L_F7E to be seen, I do not think it is a cache issue, something is as stuck when I move from one page to another, let me know if you can see it … Only occurs when I go from one page to another, for example from the home to blog grid and I want to play another podcast, follow the same one that I played in the home! It should not be like this, when I want to play the other podcast I should cut the previous one and start the new one!

Thanks for the video. Now I understand what you mean, and it seems this behavior is happening since some recent browser update. We will need to add an additional check on the file being played. I will talk to the developer and schedule an update within a day. No problem is just a small glitch that will be fixed in not time. Thanks!

Hello, the issue is fixed already, the plugin was updated on our online repository (so just install the plugins using the automated proces, not manually).
We also updated the demo (delete please the cache if you still see the bug).
We just did several tests and is completely gone.
A particular mention has to be done for Page Builder: yesterday a new version was published, but it needs a bit adapting for the theme, and will be available within a couple of days.
The actual 5.7 version works like a charm so don’t worry at all for about the update notification.

No the Ajax page loader is unrelated. The issue was a missing line of code in the player.

I think that, as we updated the plugin without updating the theme, the theme is still seeing the old version.
We are publishing a theme update within a few hours, as we need to update also Page Builder and woocommerce, so once you update the theme, it will prompt a notification and fetch the new plugin versions.
In this way you don’t need to do anything, just update the theme once I let you know and follow th instructions.
For the moment just work normally on the site, the update won’t change any existing content

Hi! Tecnically yes, requires a bit of coding though.
The theme has a PHP tag to display the player that can be moved, but I am not sure if some CSS adjustments will be needed (as changind some sizes), and the support does not cover code customizations. But is not a big work anyway

That’s something we already were thinking about, but can’t guarantee anything for the moment.

Not by now, because there is already the sticky player, which is the more important element for this type of website. Can’t exclude further changes but by now is not planned.

I have made sure that my XML enclosure tags are set correctly. Nothing changes. I also noticed that the QT support forum states that subscriptions have been canceled but this theme is still being sold with the subscription feature? I have have submitted a trouble ticket but have heard no response.
I have contacted Envato AU and an investigation is underway.
This theme has the POTENTIAL to be great but is failing at a critical point…subscriptions.
Hi, this is not an error is the rss url!!!! Just install any feed reader, give it this url and you are subscribed! If you use any serious browser feed reader as podcast followers does, when clicking the link it will be imported straight away in your reader, giving you instant updates when a new podcast is out.
If you need tech info on how rss feed works, just ask our support.
Also, you can change the url to whatever you want, hide the button, change the text and the icon.
The rss linked also in your post was also automatically imported by Google podcasts and displaying correctly.

Ahhh, I stand corrected. Fixed the issue. Thank you for the quick response. I would recommend that the the manual be a bit more clear and informative on this topic as it relates to the WPCast theme specifically. It can be somewhat confusing. None-the-less this theme works great. I have let Envato know that the issue has been resolved.

Would this theme also allow me to make text posts/post article links and have it look appealing as well or can you only post audio? I am a reporter trying to build my portfolio and work with several mediums but mostly audio which is why I’m interested in this theme. But I do write articles and would like to share them on my site as well! Video too!
Hello! For sure you can make normal text posts 
In the demo we simply highlight the audio contents but normal posts are a basic requirement for a wp theme so that’s guarntee.
Does this work if we have just a serie? So one podcast with lots of episodes?
Hello! Yes of course! In the first demo we are trying to show all the possibilities, so there is a more complex structure, but we started from the major requirements of a standardpodcaster.
So you’ll be able to easly set up a simpler home page with your episodes list and slideshow, and if you want a cool category grid in case you speak about different topics.
Actually the usage of this theme is so intuitive that we almost had no support requests since now, so I trust you’ll love the theme, but if you encounter any difficulty we are here to help

Hello miturn! If you see this error, it means that you are trying to upload the entire product package instead of the simple theme zip file. Please unzip the product folder in your computer and upload only the theme zip file and the child theme’s zip file.

I think you’ve nailed it for podcasters and you should continue to develop the theme. Hope you have transcript or timestamp (jump to location) features with the player.

Does this WPCast theme allow for e-commerce? What if my podcast sells items as well?
hi, we do not declare any explicit support for eCommerce plugins. Essentially they might work, but you can’t lock the theme’s player under an access restriction (for the moment at least).
Our ajax plugin is compatible with WooCommerce, so any shop, product and cart link will be correctly excluded from ajax loading, for optimal security and functionality of the shop part.
I was thinking of using WooCommerce plug in so this helps. Thank you.
A full implementation was in our plans, but we need to wait to reach a good number of sales before having budget to invest in the next development phase, anyway you shouldn’t encounter big issues.
Anyway, please remember that as this plugin is not officially supported yet, we won’t be able to provide support along its integration or any related upcoming issue.

Hi, that’s not a good standard and for this reason it is not usually supported by most of the web application, indeed it won’t ever be supported by our player, sorry.

Otherwise, I love the theme but I can’t use the main feature for Podcast. Please include this on the description for future customers as I already purchased a license.

Hi! I’m very sorry but is written both in the description and in the manual, plus I can’t think about any other web player playing m4a. So, you can use the theme, just convert the podcasts for the website, unless they are 2 thousands it won’t take long.
With iTunes for instance you drop all the files in the playlist and click create mp3.
Did you import the podcasts with some plugin? Which company are you using that sets audio with m4a?
Thank you. Your player does support m4a. I was just setting this up wrong but now it’s playing m4a files.
Well, the engine should, but on some browser it may not work, so we don’t declare any other compatibility other than mp3, so i’d suggest to try in mobile also, to be sure you are not excluding some user thanks and have a nice day

Hi! You can actually use SoundCloud, but it can’t play in the player because SoundCloud doesn’t provide anymore API keys, preventing direct mp3 access. Anyway very few podcasters uses SoundCloud, most uses private file hosting, libsyn or blubrry. Also, with about 5€/month you can have about 10gb of hosting, while SoundCloud already costs more than 70/year, so where is the affordable?
