IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: BeautySpot 3.0
The BeautySpot 3.0 is a major theme update which will be released soon and will be available to any existing and future buyers of the BeautySpot theme. However, there are couple of important things you should know.
3.0 Features
- New custom post types: services, testimonials, FAQ, person directory and galleries.
- Customization via WordPress customizer with live preview.
- Modularity of features: each post type comes as a separate plugin, so you can install only those you need for less bloat.
- Much, much cleaner and up to standards code for easier advanced customization (don’t forget to use a child theme for that though).
- Compatibility with the new WordPress block editor (Gutenberg).
- Many major and minor improvements.
2.x Compatibility
- BeautySpot 3.0 won’t be compatible with the previous versions (2.x and older). It is basically a brand new theme built upon the BeautySpot design. This applies to theme options, menus, widgets, custom posts (services, galleries), custom shortcodes, color schemes and code modifications. Basically everything. That means that if you want to apply this update to an existing site running BeautySpot 2.x, be very careful and ideally hire a professional for the job.
- Once the 3.0 will be released, you will find the latest version of 2.x in the full package downloaded from ThemeForest.
- If you plan to stick to 2.x after the 3.0 release, then make sure to deactivate the Envato Market plugin to avoid updating to 3.0 accidentally
3.0 Beta
- 3.0 beta will be available in the next BeautySpot update (2.5.0). You will find the installable .zip in the Beta folder of the full package downloaded from ThemeForest.
- Even though it will be technically a beta, there shouldn’t be any major issues, so if you are building a new site, I strongly encourage you to use the beta instead of the 2.x version.
- If you come across any issues in the beta version, feel free to post them here in this forum or send me a PM. I will be updating the beta version until the official release of 3.0, so any issues will be sorted out as soon as possible.
- Please note that BeautySpot 3.0 requires PHP 5.6 or higher, so make sure to check your server settings before you install it (contact your hosting provider if you are not sure about this).
- Do not use updater plugins such as Envato Market during the beta period to avoid accidental downgrade to 2.x.
- The new WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) is now the preferred editor. The WPBakery Page Builder is still supported though and you will find its installation archive in the full package in Plugins folder (js_composer.zip).
Date and Pricing
- BeautySpot 3.0 will be release around mid June 2019.
- I’ve already changed the price to $54 and it will stay like that for a while.

Hello, I’m investigating if this theme is good for my client. I tried changing via browser some css parameters using the “inspect” section. I wanted to make some tests to simulate an entire sidebar with a unique color and not 3 as default but it seems impossible to change entirely the background of the sidebar havin only a color. I tried to do it in your demo having the entire bar with the color #e5a8b9 but the combination of the 3 colors still remain in the top part of the sidebar. there is anyway to do it? it is also possible to move the bar on the top side?

it is definitely possible to have a single colored sidebar background with some simple custom CSS. It is not possible to move the sidebar at the top though.
BTW, there will be a major update released in the near future. I will be sharing more info next week here in this comments section. So if you are interested in purchasing BeautySpot, I would advice waiting for that announcement first.

Well.. too late, my client has already bought it and I’m playing with it right now.. as I mentioned i tried to have one color only changing the 3 parameters suggested and shown in the documentation (color-1 -2 and -3 ) using the same color for all and I still have the default colors on top without any chance to remove them. why? would you mind to help me? the website is giuliasinesi dot it
I am sorry but you will have to contact me via an account with which you have purchased the theme to get support.
Also, please note that this upcoming major update won’t be compatible with the current version, that’s why I advised you to wait. There will be a fully functional beta version released next week. So my advice would be to wait for this beta, as the current version is really outdated.

I assume you are editing your page via WPBakery Page Builder. You need to use Team Member element for person blocks. Just make sure to upload images with square aspect ratio.

check out Theme Options / General Settings / Logo Width.
BTW, you are not supposed to change the parent theme’s style.css file at all. Use the child theme for advanced customization. Learn more about child themes here.

Hello Lubos, thank you for your reply, I have read about working with child themes, I also know I am not supposed to make change in the parente themes however I confess I am not very experienced working with child themes so I hope you are willing to help me out. I need to decrease the font size of main menu on the left and I need to decrease the margin between the menu block en the logo, in the tutorial I have read I need to generate a style.css in child them using function.php but I see the child them directory the style.css file is already there, so is this what I am supposed to do to get my changes done?
1- copy the css code in line 41 from parent to child 2- make my changes in the style.css in child directory

What tutorial are you referring to? The one about creating a child theme I’ve shared? The Beautyspot already comes with the child theme and looking at your site, you’ve already using it so you are set on that. Simply put any custom CSS in the child theme’s style.css, the file is already there.
To change the gap between the logo an menu use this CSS:
.header-navigation { margin-top: 20px; }
To change the menu font use use this:
.header-menu > ul > li > span { font-size: 1em; }

I have translate the file, as poedit creates nl.po I have renamed the file to nl_NL.po and uploaded to wp-content/themes/beautyspot/languages but I don’t seen any translated word on the Front End, I need for instance the wordt Search in the main menu to showing the word Zoek from the translation file but it does not
You need to set your language under Settings / General. Your site is currently set to en_US.
Hi I have done that but I see only the Dutch language only in admin area, in Front End the word Search is still not in Dutch, also other words are not in Dutch.
Try to open your .po file via PoeEdit app (it must be in the languages folder) and hit Catalogue / Update from Sources to make sure all strings are properly registered.
before uploading the file i have opened it in text editor and I have seen that the urgent strings are correctly translated, not all strings are translated but only what is urgently needed
Well, you must be doing something wrong. I’ve just quickly tested to translate the “Search” into my language and it worked without any issues. Also, your site lang param is set to just “nl” even though it usually should be something like “nl-NL” (but maybe that is not an issue).
I have change the language from Formal Dutch to Dutch and it seems to work now, thank you for your quick support.
Hi Lubos, I have another question, in the demo site I can seen products in the shop, in my theme I don’t see how I have to add products as Woocommerce in the theme options does not offer this possibility, do I need to install the plugin Woocommerce for that? Ad shop: you need to install a Woocommerce plugin of course. It is an optional plugin so it was not installed during the initial setup, not everybody needs that.

it seems like some 3d party plugin is causing that. Try to deactivate all plugins except the ones which came with the theme to find which one can be the problem.

Just change the “755” to ID of your page which you can get by hovering your mouse over the page link in the admin. The ID should be visible in its URL.

No that’s not where you should put it. Any changes to the .scss file have to be recompiled, and even if you can recompile it you will lost this change on the theme update so never ever change theme’s files. Use a child theme for that (just put the code I gave you into child theme’s style.css). Anyway, without seeing it live I can’t really tell why it wouldn’t work even if you did everything correctly. So once you will have it online, let me know and I will take a look at it.

I do not really see a footer issue on that URL. However you can simply use that CSS I gave you and use a higher value like:
#core { min-height: 500px; }
I am not sure what you mean to put it in a child’s theme.
Child theme’s style.css file.
But you should install and activate the child theme first, please follow the documentation.

Is there a way to modify a height value, which closes sidebar panel? On your demo site sidebar panel closes automatically when it reaches header menu (If window height is to small).
On my site sidebar panel and header menu heights is bigger than yours. Sidebar panel goes under header menu.

you can set the sidebar as always closed under Theme Options / Main Sidebar Settings using the “Show Sidebar Panel as Closed” option.
Changing just the height threshold would require changing the main style.scss which then have to be recompiled and you will lost that change on the next theme update anyway. If you are developer yourself, you can take a look into style.scss, line 1844, copy the whole media block to your child theme’s style CSS, change the @media max-height value and convert whole block to CSS.
