I’d like to speed up the speed of the two page animation effects. It seems to happen in two stages. 1. user clicks on menu item, and the menu slides to left or right 2. once menu is in position, the page animates in from the left and right.
I assume these are javascript controlled effects. Can you help me with the necessary code, and location to place it.

I noticed a few comments saying this is a responsive, is that true? When I load it up on my mobile devices, the site works, but its not really optimized for mobile.

You need to use custom link structure if your post is in Nostalgia theme. Please open it and copy its url from browser address bar.

Everything was ok, I wanted to start uploading my portfolio.
When I added an item to my portfolio en tried loading my webpage, everything was gone!
When i surf to my URL now, I only see this: http://cl.ly/2L1b0I1N2h230f3T0I2o But is isn’t even animated, so it isn’t loading anything…
What can I do? I already put a lot of work in editing stuff, so starting over would be a nightmare!

If you would like to have description for the portfolio item, then put it into editor on portfolio item add/edit page. You can also set description location under Options box.

What’s the best process to update the theme. Should I upload the new files to my wp-content themes folder (and change the name to “nostalgia3-5”) then activate from the dashboard theme menu.
or just overwrite the files in their current location.

You can overwrite files via ftp, you can also delete current version and install the new one via admin panel.

Great theme, thanks for your hard work, just a few questions:
1) I want the background to slide across rather than fade?! Do I edit the ‘jquery.bxSlider.min.js’ to do this and if so what part? I couldn’t figure it out!
2) Also I wanted to know if I could make the background images links? To pages or external websites?
3) Is it possible to make a navigation item link to an external website?!

1) I’ve added an option in admin panel to configure that. It will be available from version 3.6 (I’ll upload it today).
2) You can put the link into ‘Background title’ field in Theme Options.
3) Yes. Under page editor you will find ‘Options’ box, please fill ‘Custom URL ’ textfield.

I think you misunderstood what I meant, I didn’t explain properly. I plan on actually taking off that box to the left of the arrows where the background title information goes as I don’t want it there, and I want the people to be able to click the actual background image and make it go to where ever it’s linked to? Is this possible via code?

Maybe it’s possible. I’m using supersized plugin for the background, maybe you’ll find the wat how to do that in the plugin docs.
Hmm I checked out the plugin documents, apparently it is possible with slide_links… Which allows the slide to be a link. But I am not sure what to change or where to find the background slides in any of the code to make them links… Do you think you lead the way for me on where to edit this? I have no jQuery experience.
I just want to take off the info box on the left of the navigation arrows. (which I did by commenting out /* */ any slide caption styles in the CSS . And then make the background link to a external URL . But I’m struggling quite a bit with that. Your help would be really appreciated.
Sorry but I’ll need to implement such a functionality and test it, to provide you the solution. If there will be more request about background images links I’ll take a look at this. To remove info box, please open footer.php file and remove slidecaption-wrapper section.

I have another question about this great theme!
I have succesfully changed and translated the ‘click me’-button, but it always seems to be floating too far from the box you should actually click. (Can be seen in this screenshot: http://cl.ly/28243H3S1G1O3K0K1h0h )
Is there a way to fix it?
Second question: I used shortcodes to generate the menu, but can I change the order the menu is in? Now my contact form always is the first thing that pops up, I would like to change that order?
Last question: I set the background to ‘play’ so the background changes over time. But actually this is very quickly, can I slow down this changing of backgrounds?

Please open style.css file and set width value under #nostalgia-navigation-name-box (line 1052). Example:

First two problems solved, the third one doesn’t seem to do anything. Put that code into line 666, didn’t help?
Also: some of the fonts are in black. I want my design to be black, where can I change the color of these fonts? (for example: the title font when you hover over the box which has more information about the background image…)
Also change the font color of the contact form?

I’ve prepared an update. You’ll be able to set time interval between slide change in Theme Options. I’ll send it to your email. All colors can be edited through style.css file.
Hey, I’m intrested in buying, but I need to know a thing about music player. Is it possible to control volume globally from admin panel? Personally I hate when loud music plays when I’m opening random page and that happened when I’ve opened Live Preview of Nostalgia, it’s annoying. Also it would be great if user have power to control volume, and admin has control for starting volume when page loads. Hmm?

Hey QL, I added the ”/#!/menu” to my url on my dashboard under Settings>General>Site address URL . It works but, then my menu links no longer work. Is there another way to redirect?
You need to make just a redirect, not set this under Settings. You can make this using this solution

I’ve created the redirect.php file that redirects to http://objektivsolutions.com/#!/menu. But what do I do with it? Following the directions on the link you provided add another page that automatically redirects…but I’d like it to redirect immediately upon visiting the site. Should I be overwriting something?
You need to set created file as template for your home page.
hi, i did what you told me and updated the wordpress, and i tried making a new category but the video didnt help me at all. i cant make a new category it works on portraits i already put my own pictures set them up as the feauture photo, but i cant still make new categories, weddings, babies, outdoors nothing.

My goal: I’d like to have 2 Blog template pages on my site. One called “Projects”, and the other “Blog”. I can set this up easily, but they show the same content. Question: I really like how you can control the content of the portfolio and service sections by using the category parameter with the shortcode. Is there a way to do this with the Blog template? Then I would be able to control the specific page on which the post is visible.

Yes you can control that with categories. Under the page editor in Options box you’ll find Blog categories: list. Please select appropriate categories from it, then save the page.

Hello, referring to your response above…I’m not sure exactly WHERE to put the code for adding the comments to the portfolio, or for turning content tab icons (people, checkmark, features, etc.) into active clickable links.
Also, once I add a 6th item to the menu bar, the “x” disappears from the navigation bar completely. How can I get the “x” back?

You can’t add a comments into portfolio. Theme doesn’t provide such a feature.
If you would like to make icons clickable, you need to place links over them – that required custom coding.

Curious why two portfolio items are appearing as different sizes with different borders on them. Is there a recommended size? See first two items listed here on test site – http://www.bearfootcreative.com/#!/portfolio
They have the same size: 230×150. Seems like your second image has transparent background on the left and right side, that why the image look like it has different size.
I would like to add a recaptcha to the contact page. is there a way I can implement that into the contact form.
I tried using the plugin but it does not work with the form.

Hi, I read the comment which was about changing the ‘click here’ text. So, I’ve edited the image, uploaded it into the wpconten/themes/nostalgia/images folder, but the old ‘click here’ keeps getting up. What can I do?
