Confused about the performance stats quoted on this page – there’s a GTMetrix report that states the style.css file is 47.5KB (and therefore fast) but the style.css file that comes with the purchased package is 438KB and so very slow! Whats going on here?

We keep the original files on the package, because some people would prefer to read and change the code easily for their project.
You can minify the CSS and JS files easily by using some online websites, for instance https://cssminifier.com/ as we did on our published version.
The report is generated directly from GTMetrix official website. You can feel the difference on speed when you click on the links, however even if you compress the files sometimes it depends how the code is well written and the process of it. Due to this, we have spent months to optimize the code and files, so at the end you can have lightweight and fast website with tons of features.

Thanks for the reply Scot. to be clear, I am talking about the CSS file as supplied by you guys – not anything I have created. In order to use your package with all its features this CSS file MUST be used – even minified it comes in at over 300KB. This is huge. I dont understand how you can link to a Metric report that doesnt use the code as supplied by you.

The file you are referring from GMetrix report is after the server will serve to your browser. Most of the modern servers use gziped compression which means they compress the files even more to speed up the loading website and save bandwidth.

Ok thanks – I need to look into this as when I upload your files to my server I get a page score of ‘F’ for the same page because of the large file sizes – I must assume its down to your use of gzip then so will look into this! Thanks for the pointer

It lacks better documentation. Free frameworks like bootstrap provide better documentation than this. It doesn’t even contain code snippets to learn, they just gave full templates without any explanations of each components.

How to change banner images?

I had submitted a support ticket and only received a brief response from you. The site is live so I need to get the issue with the contact form resolved. I did add my email address to the contact-form.php in the include folder as directed in the documentation. When we fill out the form on the contact page and hit submit, we get an “undefined” red box that drops down. Please advise.

I just have one issue with the footer. I see on mobile devices it puts all the footer content underneath each other. How can I make the footer to display the content in columns on smaller screen sizes?

I would like to know how I can change the Fontawesome Free to Pro version that I have. I have tried changing out the fontawesome.css file and added in the webfonts but it still wont work.

You need to place the fontawesome files in the webfonts and then replace css fontawesome code in the css/plugin.css, then after that, go to style.css and replace the “Font Awesome 5 Pro”
