Hey Codetipi, I really love this theme. Just a final pre-sale question before I click the buy button. Does the tipi editor have option to make a first block (working as banner) like this screenshot: http://bit.ly/headerdemo ? Kindly response at the soonest so I could move into buying stage.

If you have a slider plugin (such as Slider revolution) then you can definitely use that in the Tipi Builder, but the theme doesn’t come with that slider, alternatively, you could wait for the update that includes that block. Zeen v2.5 is in development now and there are lots of new features, but I’m not sure that particular block will make it in this update, it might happen but more likely be in v2.6 update.

Thanks, great to hear. All clear to me. Just bought it and will wait for the next update while using it now :)

That’s really nice news, I hope you enjoy using the theme :)

Zen theme creates too many thumbnails. The solution provided by developers in latest update is a plugin which wasn’t updated since 8 years. Are there any other solutions which are up to date?

Hi Aviory,

Zeen lets you control thumbnails – If you don’t need all the thumbnails, for example if you are using one layout everywhere and only use that specific image thumbnail size on your site, then you can disable specific thumbnails:

You simply go into the theme options > Performance and turn off the thumbnail sizes you don’t use/need/want. This gives you total control over it all.

But just to clarify too – Zeen doesn’t create too many thumbnails :P Themes need to set multiple thumbnails, as that’s the way a theme can help a site have good performance. The theme could easily just use 3 thumbnails out of the box, but that means big image files will be loaded in places where a much smaller one is needed, and that slows the site down, uses more hosting monthly bandwidth, impacts your speed scores – which in turn means lower Google rankings, as speed/performance is one of their ranking factors, etc.

This actually is a WordPress core problem though. WordPress shouldn’t create thumbnails for every single upload, it should create them on the fly when needed, which is exactly what the recommended plugin does.

Also, can we not use the page builder for the posts? I really hate using the classic editor or gutenberg to create posts.

Hey again,

The builder is only for pages/categories/tags/etc, not posts – This was actually on purpose though, because if you create 100s of posts with a builder over a few years, and then decide you want to change builders, convert them back to Gutenberg (or whatever the latest official editor is), then you’ll have a headache on your hands. This is why the decision for Zeen was that the builder can be used everywhere, except posts. And for posts the theme was coded to be fully compatible with Gutenberg + add custom Zeen Gutenberg blocks to enhance it all, etc.

Hope this makes sense :)

Hello, we just got the theme! First, would be great if we could easily add a Coming Soon page without an additional plugin. Also, is it possible to have front-end users – such as having a front-end profile etc?

Hey Shufflewire,

Happy to hear that, hope you enjoy using it :)

Coming soon are so temporary that I’m not sure adding that feature (and all the code/options for it) is worth it, considering there are so many great free plugins that do it all already. I just recommend installing a free plugin when needed, use it, then when finished, you can just delete the plugin.

Regarding front end, what do you mean by that exactly? Do you mean authors being able to publish posts via the frontend? If so, I’m afraid due to the complexity of WordPress’ new system (Gutenberg) that isn’t really realistic any more. The only way is via a frontend publishing plugin.

Hope this info helps!

Hello, I’m having an issue with the latest version of the Theme, I keep getting 404 errors when I scroll on the review part of my articles.

This is the element missing: https://veuillezparlapresente.com/wp-content/plugins/lets-review/frontend/js/lets-review-scripts.min.js

When I try to look on my FTP, there is no js subfolder in the frontend.

I tried with and without cache, the issue remains. Is there a hardcoded link somewhere?

Regards

EDIT: I had a previous version of the theme and the file were there, I copy-paste them but I’m not sure if it’s the best thing to do…

Hey there,

That file does seem to exist, so I imagine your cache needs refreshing as it’s probably created using old files of the theme and plugins. See if that helps. If not please open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com and someone from support will help.

Why the customization of the Writer Demo is so bad and nothingis working? Trying to change the simple things like footer background (colors as well as background picture) and nothing works? Tried also with the header and change of color for the secondary menu – also nothing was saved. What’s worse the customizer doesn’t seem to act on any changes?

Hey Randomusernamexo,

I’m not entirely sure what is going on, but that isn’t normal Zeen behavior, and I can definitely confirm that the customizer does work fine, as do all the design options. Did you try disabling all plugins, in case one of them is causing the issues? If so, then please open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com and include the url + admin login details so the support team can investigate.

Codetipi

Sorry, but I’m not going to pay another $42 for support of what should work fine, when the theme was $60. I already have one site with this theme and tried to make another. I do not have any additional plugins besides the files from your theme. Basically it’s a fresh install of the theme, all that is belong to your theme. When using the Writer demo and Customize as the option to change how the site looks, the site is not showing changes in real-time. I’m changing the background color of the footer – no changes. I’m changing the color of the text in the footer – also no changes. From my hosting company, I know that in no way it is their problem, as there are no issues. there’s a message “Something went wrong. The changeset cannot be further modified”, and it shows on Google that it is the theme’s fault.

Hey again,

I’m sorry to hear your support has expired, but the support system is nothing to do with us authors, it’s an Envato system and policy. We just have to follow the rules, and for customers to receive support, you do need valid Themeforest theme support. All themes comes with 6 months support (unless you bought it with 12 months) and then after that time you need to extend it if you ever need support.

However, nothing of the issues you describe sound normal though and I’m almost 99% certain it’s not a theme issue, as the customizer 100% works fine every time, including on the writer demo (I just tested it again) so I’m afraid the only way to be able to help you is if you open up a ticket so that it can be investigated. Just make sure to include the site url + admin details and someone from support will happily look into it for you.

noticed a bug in the template on mobile devices. to go to the post – need to click twice. the first for hover style, and the second for go to post. is it possible to disable it in the settings?

Hey Nicko,

That doesn’t sound right at all, it shouldn’t work like that. Can you share the exact demo url + point out which block that happens? And what phone did you see it in?

Codetipi

Thanks for sharing, I think this is standard ios hover behaviour, so I will look into it deeper. However, if you do get the theme, you can definitely fix it very easily with a small custom css snippet I can give you.

Why this theme looks awesome! I just checked out the Writer demo and a subscribe pop-up appeared. which plugin or tool do you use for this one? It suits the design of the theme perfectly. Thanks!

Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for checking out Zeen :)

That popup is a Zeen feature, you can set it up in the theme options ;)

Codetipi

Awesome, thanks!

You’re welcome :)

amp is built into the template or you need a separate plugin to put?

Hey Nicko,

The theme has AMP code integrated and ready so that it looks good (The theme options has an AMP section to set your logo, etc), but you do need to install an AMP plugin to make your site be able to run AMP itself. Themes can only add code to be compatible (Zeen does do this).

Hope this helps.

Codetipi

Yeah, many Zeen users use the theme with that plugin to power AMP.

Thank you!

You’re welcome :)

Hello. We write you e-mails and we dont receive answers. We write on ticksy and no more have access on it. (HTTP ERROR 500).

Hi Beat_sk,

Is this Norbert? If so, your ticket was answered to earlier today already, check it out: https://codetipi.ticksy.com/ticket/2198110/

And the response from us took 18 hours, I think that’s pretty fast if you ask me :)

P.s the support system has been working fine over here all day, can you please try refreshing your browser cache or another browser to see if that helps?

Codetipi

Yes, yes it´s me. Thank you for reply. i see it working now

It’s no problem, see you in there :) Your ticket was escalated to Chris (developer) to look into as well, so he might not reply until tomorrow as he looks into it deeper.

Hi,

great job with the theme! :)

Question: Is there an option to show “infinite post load” on the home page?

Thanks! - Max

Hey Max,

Thanks for choosing Zeen :)

Yeah, you can do that. Are you using the Tipi Builder to build your homepage? If so, you need to add the Default Posts block (archive) as only the main WordPress loop (default posts shown by WordPress) can have infinite load option. Other blocks can have the infinite load with button only.

Hi guys, I’ve been with Valenti theme for 4 years now et want to migrate Valenti to Zeen. I just want to be reassured on few points : I do have hundreds of video post with the same lay out, during the migration will I be able to define my new video post lay out in Zeen and then apply it to all my posts in one shot ? It is vimeo embed videos, all the integration code will be migrated? With Valenti I had to go through custom code to handle the Upper Case in all menus and titles, is it going to be the same with Zeen or now it is “none transform text” ready ? Will I be able to change the wording of “related posts’, “latest”, “random” “oldest’, “archives” ? with Valenti I had to go through .core.php to change the wordings.

Thx in advance.

Hey Zitoun2015,

That’s really nice to hear, thanks for choosing Codetipi products :)

1- Zeen comes with a migration tool built-in that allows you to migrate Valenti post formats with one click. So all gallery images you’ve set in your gallery posts would be migrated to Zeen’s gallery automatically. All video/audio/gallery data is migrated over, including vimeo/youtube/soundcloud/etc embeds.

2- Zeen has a much more deep typography section that allows you to turn on/off uppercase for specific (or all) elements.

3- Yes, in Zeen there are filters that you can use to permanently tweak certain titles. You put the custom code in the child theme’s functions.php and you will never lose them even after you update the main theme. You can see the instructions in the documentation: https://docs.codetipi.com/zeen/#how-to-change-related-posts-title

The Latest/Random/Oldest titles in the archive dropdown don’t have filters, however, you can easily change them using free Loco Translate plugin due to the way they’re coded.

Hope this helps.

Codetipi

Thx for your answers guys, just one thing where are the explanations about the migration tool (Valenti to Zeen) because there’s nothing about it in the video (#1 Zeen WordPress Theme – Installation) or in your zeen documentation https://docs.codetipi.com/zeen/#installation Thx in advance.

You’re welcome.

The migration tool is really simple, it’s literally a case of clicking on “Zeen menu option > Migration > Select theme + click go” and it’s done :)

Codetipi

Hi Chris,

On which file can I add a line of code under the title of a block? see in the screenshot here: https://imgur.com/lUCFiRi

Thanks :)

Hey RV73,

You shouldn’t edit files to inject code, you should use a hook, and you can use the ‘the_title’ filter to hook onto the title there, much cleaner way of doing it.

Codetipi

Ok I will test this ;) thanks

You’re welcome :)

Awesome theme! I think this question was previously asked however I couldn’t find the answer: How might I go about disabling the parallax zoom effect that is currently present on the Slider A module in tipi builder? is there a simple way to turn this off?

Hey James,

Thanks for the kind words :) However, support can only be given to confirmed buyers – could you please open a ticket at http://codetipi.ticksy.com ? Thanks!

Codetipi

Hey Christian :)

I m waiting the update about the author page, i don’t know if you remember but normally it seems it have to done at the last update of the theme so we can choose and arrange the author page ?

Thanks for the answer

Sara

Hey Sara,

Ah yes it’s been a few updates and that hasn’t been included yet, but progress has been made for it and a potential solution is going to be finished off! It will all be explained in the documentation and in the changelog once it’s done :) I think it will be part of v2.5 update too!

Codetipi

Hi there! Unfortunately, with the last update, my main post title size publish incorrectly. In customization, I set my “main post title” to 16px. When I click “Publish” and go to my site (noisetrend.com), for some reason the main post titles closer to the the bottom of the page are set to a larger size.

Hey there,

Ah you’re right, that is a new little quirk due to the columns system rewrite from v2.4. It has been patched up though and will be fine in v2.5, until then add this css:

@media only screen and (min-width: 1240px) {
.tipi-s-typo .title {  font-size: 1.6rem!important; }
}

Should fix it for now!

Codetipi

Hi there. Love your theme. Since the new update; I have some issues with the “Let’s Review”-section though. The text I insert in the “positive” and “negative” section is no longer shown in the published articles. An example: https://neon-ghosts.de/cigarettes-after-sex-cry/ – is this a bug? All the best, Ben

Hey there,

Love that you love Zeen :)

I had a look and it seems you are using the “top half width” review option, is that correct? Because that in combination with the design option I believe was never meant to output that (it was meant to be minimal).

Codetipi

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, that’s correct. It worked with that feature before (usually had 2-3 song recommendations in there).

Ah you’re right! This has been fixed and will be included in next plugin update :) Top Half width option will not omit anything, whatever info you enter will appear but in a half width design.

Would you ever consider implementing a “featured post” blog layout with one large featured wide post or slider, with any of the current blog designs beneath that? Unless this is an option already and I haven’t been able to find it :)

Nevermind, answered my own question. It can be done via Tipi Builder, just not in one of the default page template designs. I guess that’ll do the trick.

Hey Ianskate,

Happy it’s all good now and that you found a way :)

Codetipi

The new update is awesome! Thanks guys.

I have one question: Are you planning to add inside the theme the option for readers to add the article to Pocket? For example inside the post customize section?

Ah I see, I didn’t know about Pocket, will look into the code, thanks for sharing and for the suggestion!

My pleasure. Keep up the great work!
