Hello, I need a lot of help, change from oc 2.3 to 3x, I installed journal latest version I see that there are so many differences with journal 2 that I really feel frustrated and ready to remove journal. I need my site running as soon as possible, and everything I could do easy with journal 2 is now uphill. I’m pulling questions little by little … I installed the template 4 (I need this type of structure), but with the logo and menu as is the template 7.
How should I make the logo appear above the menu? How to change the style of the menu with that of template 7? Any manual or direct reference video?
Hi, unfortunately Journal 3 is a completely new theme and not compatible with Journal 2 so this can’t be a normal update. You’d have to start over in the new theme, cannot port the design from J2 to J3.
Although Journal 3 was included for free to all existing Journal 2 users valid support is required so if you need assistance please file a ticket on our support page and consult with our developers.

Hello, I fully understand that I must learn from scratch, and I also understand that everything evolves and have added many excellent functions. I do not deny that it is a brilliant and excellent theme. Personally I do not agree that I should pay for support simply for wanting to know how to change the position of a menu or questions about how to do things with the new theme, my questions are based on the lack of a user support manual. I tell you again that I think the work is excellent, but taken another case is to ask Microsoft support how to close a window … I do not consider it for support but help the user. In journal 2 I needed support because I needed to make extras … and you helped me with what was necessary. But in those cases it was not for operation but technical help. Seeing from the user side, if to learn it I need to pay support … when before it was much more intuitive, it is not justifying at least for me. I will continue to study each point thoroughly and if I need technical help I will gladly pay for the support, since you have always helped me. Best regards.
Thank you for your understanding. Support policy is set by Envato, we just abide by it. From every support renewal they must take a cut as well, just like from the original sale. Since we have an exclusivity agreement with them we can’t sell the theme (or provide support) outside this marketplace.

Hello, developers. I mentioned this a year ago, but the problem has reappeared. The essence of it is that when the product does not have SEO URL “Quickview” displays it normally, and when there is SEO URL – it displays the entire site page along with the header and footer in a modal window.
Hi, that’s probably because your SEO url module removes popup=quickview parameter from url, please get in touch with the developers of your module and ask them how to leave the parameter in url and your issue will be solved after.

I found two minor problems. I do n’t know if it ’s my problem or is it not reasonable?
1. The head module seems to have only the smallest height, but not an absolute degree? It seems difficult to control the height if you put pictures.

1. That is a fixed height and needs to be so in order to control the sticky part.
2. The border interferes with the dropdown hover behaviour in that particular case so it’s been left out.

Will Journal 3 work with OC 2.2.0.0? As of now I am trying to setup Journal 2.16.8 with OC 2.2.0.0 and I need sql database export file. I exported your demo file and that didn’t work.

Hi, you need to edit that actual popup module in Journal > Modules > Popup…in there you will edit the row options (small pencil button, seen when hovering over the row).

Hi, you have the “all products” page which can be sorted by date added. Unfortunately Opencart does not have a dedicated layout for latest but you may be able to create a custom information layout and add a Products module on it with the selection you want.

The theme isn’t bad at all and is very easy to customize, however it has a massive problem – in Open cart 3.0.3.1 doesn’t integrate well with Paypal express checkout and with Paypal Payflow Pro iFrame.
Hi and thanks for the feedback, but that is not a theme issue, it is Paypal who has stopped working with one-page checkouts (any custom one-page checkouts, not just ours).
But the theme works fine with paypal, you just have to disable the custom one-page checkout and use the default one. There are two checkouts available, specifically to have a backup in case some extensions don’t work with the custom one-page one.
You can disable this in Journal > Skins > Edit > Checkout… choose Opencart.

In that case would you recommend a payment processor that you’re sure would work with the theme? I’ve just tried to change the checkouts and the OC is a very long winded 6-steps process. That would have still be ok but eventually I got another error and the transaction wasn’t processed at all.
Opencart comes with lots of payment methods which are built in already in Opencart > Extensions > Extensions > Payments…
You can try different ones from there but these aren’t theme related.
Paypal has changed its API and Opencart followed suit from version 3.0.3.1. So on possible solution may be to roll back Opencart to a version prior to 3.0.3.1.
As it stands now, no one-page checkouts work with Paypal so you can either roll back Opencart to a version before 3.0.3.1 or use the default Opencart multi-step checkout.
We are monitoring this and if a solution surfaces we will of course implement it, but this is out of our hands.

Hi, Paypal works perfectly fine with Journal, you just have to activate the default Opencart checkout in Journal > Skins > Edit > Checkout…
This change from Paypal (since Opencart 3.0.3.1) is not something we have control over so your question on whether we can “fix” it has nothing to do with what’s happening. There is nothing to fix, Paypal changed their API and you can use one-page single step checkouts anymore. It has nothing to do with the Journal checkout, applies to ANY one-page single step checkout, or any other Opencart theme for that matter.

Well that has been tried already. See my reply above. In fact I have been trying it for some time now. With no effect. But how on earth you can make the theme work with one step check out and Paypal and now since they’ve changed their API things don’t anymore?! I mean if it was done so that it can work the first time surely there must be a way for the thing to work with the new API. It’s still a code at the end of the day!
The new Paypal API renders the confirm button in an iframe and it’s not possible to trigger it from outside anymore, this happens on any other one page checkouts.
We haven’t done anything before, it just worked as the button was accessible. And no there isn’t anything we can do now since you can’t modify code inside the Paypal iframe, no one can do anything except them.

Hi, that only happens when you change the global variables. That’s precisely the idea of variables, to change in one place and apply everywhere.
However, each option in Journal can use any variable or a custom value. So in your case you don’t need to change the variables, just go the particular option you want to change and apply a different variable. You can create as many variables as you wish and apply them in different options.
Look through the styles in Journal > Styles > ... or modules or skins, depending on what option you want to change.

I have an issue with the Quick checkout and the 3D verification process with Braintree. Braintree works with the standard checkout, but with your Quickcheckout it freezes when it should pop the 3D verification.

Hi, we have a Presale question. When we examine the theme demos we noticed that carousels which includes links are problematic.
The problem is if u try to drag a carousel item on desktop it automatically runs the href link and opens a new page which u did not wanted to go despite u were just dragging to scroll horizontally. This is a real problem for us. And must be clarified for us before buyin the theme. Otherwise we must seek snd choose another theme.
Does theme options or element options can fix that? Or can u offer and alternate carousel base like this https://antoniandre.github.io/vueper-slides/ maybe on next update.
I mean this vueper slides has no problem with linked carousel items when u drag and drop the craousel horizontally. There is no unwanted page launches. Please let us know if it can be fixed or not.
