Any chance of showing the live search on every page/article? thanks
Hi,
Thank you for writing, I hope you’re doing well.
Unfortunately that option is not part of the theme, but it can be achieved with custom code.
Best, J.
The images on your live demo do not seem to be working.
Hi Andy,
Thank you for reaching out! I hope you’re doing well.
What demo are you checking in particular? Or is it the main demo? http://demo.nicethemes.com/flatbase/
Best, J.
I would like to know if it can work as a Wikipedia, that is, users can upload articles and a moderator publishes them. In your demo I don’t see the option to register or log in for users. Thank you!
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us, I hope you’re doing well. No, that functionality is not part of the theme. You might achieve something similar with some plugins, but unfortunately that’s not part of the theme.
Best, J.
Hey Guys,
Hope you are having a great weekend.
I am interested in buying your theme to use it as a KB for my own theme that I sell here on TF. Just some quick questions.
1. Does the theme use any page builder?
2. Do you intend to work on any updates for the theme? I see the last update more than a year ago. The fact that nothing has been added to the theme for more than a year makes me kinda want to back down.
Looking forward to your answers.
Best Regards,
Gino
Hi Gino,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well.
With regards to your questions:
1. No, it doesn’t use a page builder. 2. Yes, a new update is planned in our roadmap. With some fixes and features. In terms of updates, we see it in other way, the fact that it wasn’t updated for so long, means that the product is pretty solid and it didn’t require any major update. It’s powering a lot of sites and still, there are no major bugs. But for sure we have plans of keeping the product up to date and adding new features.
Best, J.
Hi J,
Thanks a lot for your response.
Will buy the theme later this week and use it as a KB for my Cariera theme.
Best Regards,
Gino
Hi Gino,
Thank you for the follow-up. Perfect, please let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any other question.
Best, J.
I have purchased your theme and I was required to register it in order to access Nice themes support. But every time I enter the purchase code it show me invalid. I downloaded the purchase code from my downloads page. Kindly request you to look into this immediately.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us and sorry for the delayed response. Are you following the instructions described on this article to get the data from themeforest? https://nicethemes.com/article/how-to-find-your-themeforest-purchase-code/
Would you please share your username at nicethemes.com?

Your website is not loading so now my template takes forever to load! Why is the template hooked to your Website???
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you´re doing well.
The site should be loading now, we experienced problems days ago but it was resolved within hours. The admin section actually checks for updates every some hours and that´s the reason why it´s connected to the site.
Best, J
Not really… the homepage is taking FOR EVER to load… at least 1 minute…
And then, trying to submit a support ticket in your site throws 504 gateway error! “504 Gateway Time-out nginx”
Hi,
Thank you for the follow-up. We’ll be checking the issues and coming back to you.
Best, J
Hi,
It should be working now. We’re having some temporary server issues and we’ll be working on them. Thank you for your patience.

Hello. Im trying to see if this theme can be used by our team. We want to have a: KB, forum and FAQ within same theme. Does Flatbase support these features? Can we have protected items in the KB or Forum where only certain users can access ? Do you plan to still update the theme and can the theme be updated within Wordpress dashboard ? Thank you
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well.
Yes, Flatbase comes with a KB and FAQ. The forums are handled by the WordPress plugin bbPress. And the theme style them correctly. With regards to restricting content, you could do that by using a plugin like “Restrict Content Pro”.
Yes, we plan to still update the theme and the updates can be made via WP dashboard.

ERROR: The directory for the demo packs couldn’t be created
Hi, i just purchased and get this error when installing the minimal demo
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well. That’s related to your server directories permissions. You’ll need to make the directories writable by the apache user so the demo can be imported correctly. Please if you run into more problems, create a ticket on our support platform at http://nicethemes.com/support
Best, J.
I have all the requirements checked, but still the same error. which directory need to be made 777 ?
ive logged in to your site, and couldnt find an XML for the wiki minimal theme, for manual wordpress importer
i have tried making the the theme folder, uploads, wp-content and even the base folder 777 and still the same error
Hi, I would recommend you to set the permissions to 775 and make it recursive to all folders inside that one. Are you using an FTP tool to do that?
Best, J.
inside which one? 1. base folder of wordpress installation 2. wp-content 3. wp-content/themes 4. wp-content/themes/flatbase 5. wp-content/uploads 6. .....
i am using ssh
i dont think you attached the demo-pack.zip in the purchase files i try to look into the code and see this requirement
Hello,
You can do chmod -r 775 of wp-content/ to avoid most problems with file/folder permissions.
The demo pack will only import you the data, the demo importer we have in place in the backend of the theme will actually clone the one you can see on the demo site.
Best, J.
ive done that, i make all the directory 775 and still shown error during installation of demo packages
all system requirements in the pop up page are checked but still error when installing
nevermind, solved it myself
Thank you for the follow-up. I’m glad you got it working now. Please feel free to contact us at our support platform if you need more help. http://nicethemes.com/support

Hi, do you plan to release a new version with the fixed video issue and when?
Hi belzonadev,
I hope you’re doing well.
Yes, we have plans to be releasing a new version with some improvements, including the one you mentioned.
Best, Juan.
This theme does not support the Gutenberg editor for pages and posts.
Hi there – is it possible to run adverts using this theme?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you´re doing well.
Unfortunately that´s not part of the core functionality of the theme. But I’m sure that you can achieve that using some Ad plugin.
Best, Juan.
Hello how would i go about adding an image above the search bar in the home page, i cant find anywhere to add thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well.
To add an image above the search bar on the home page you will need to create a child theme and edit the header.php file.
Another option would be going to the Theme Options > Home Options > Live Search & Welcome Message > Welcome Message and adding the HTML for the image there directly.

Before buying this theme, I’d like to know if it includes any drag & drop page builder, and user management, with roles and permissions? (Login/Logout in the frontend)
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well. No, it doesn’t come with a page builder. And with regards to user management, that’s a WordPress feature, you have different user roles and permissions.

I see the last Update is from March 2018, are you planning on keeping updating this theme, and support it?
Hi,
Thank you for your response. Yes, we are keeping it updated and we’re supporting it. We haven’t released new versions because we didn’t have bugs to fix. We’re planning new releases to continue improving the product.
Best, J
Good Afternoon, as you could see in the above screenshot, the icons for the video player are missing, and it’s working fine with another themes.
What steps we made before?
1 Switching between themes 2 Commented all the additional CSS 3 Tried different plugins, deactivated them 1 by 1
The problem still persists.
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve just checked that you opened a support ticket with the same question on our support platform. We’ll continue the conversation over there.
Best, J
Hey There,
One of our requiremtns to to be able to have some content on the knowledge base only visible to some of our clients. Does this theme support this feature and if so how does it work?
Hi,
Thanks for writing and hoping that you are doing well today.
Well, that’s not possible with this theme directly. I think it would be better to find some kind of plugin with the ability to make that happen. Something like “Restrict Content” or similar (https://pippinsplugins.com/products/restrict-content-pro/)
Best, J.
Hi, this theme is very interesting and I’d like to use it. The only problem is the WP supported version. Does it support WP 5.2 or at least WP 5.1.1? I believe that the problem is only the new editor. Thank you.
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! And thanks for the kind words.
We’ve been testing the theme with the newest release and we haven’t found inconveniences. Currently Envato doesn’t have the WP5.2 compatibility field ready, and that’s the reason why it’s not listed there.

Hi, I am interested in this theme. however, the demo does not have demo content to reflect the way content is displayed or loaded on many pages/sections. Examples in your demo: http://demo.nicethemes.com/flatbase/faq-scroll/ or http://demo.nicethemes.com/flatbase/forums/ for just a few examples. These are the main sections of the theme to get an idea of the content rendering and layout. But it’s just nothing there. If you could please add some demo content then I may consider purchasing. But I need a theme in the next day or two. Thanks for the help.
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well.
I’m sorry for that, we need to update some links on the classic demo. Specifically for the pages you shared:
http://demo.nicethemes.com/flatbase-classic/faq-scroll/ or http://demo.nicethemes.com/flatbase-classic/forums/If you go to http://demo.nicethemes.com/flabase and click on any other demo besides the classic one, you should be able to see all pages.

Is there a way to export the content of the knowledge base to word/PDF in order to create Documentation?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out! Not that we’re aware of. Maybe there’s a plugin that you can use to make that happen. But definitely it’s out of the scope of the theme.
Best, J
errm please where is can I find the licence key? its not in the licence text file
nevermind, found it
Hi,
Perfect, please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Best, J
Yes please, I imported the software demo, however when I make changes to the texts on the header and footer in the customize screen and save, nothing changes
Also please, how do I insert links into the info boxes on the homepage and edit the footer widgets?
Hi,
Thank you for the follow-up. Would you please create a new support ticket on http://nicethemes.com/support – That way we’ll be able to provide you with better support. We’ll need some info from your site to help you with these questions.
Thanks, Juan.
Hello, like your theme. However, after installation, it will not accept changes I make in to customize -> Flatbase settings
Any idea on how to solve?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! Would you please open a new support ticket on http://nicethemes.com/support so we can take a deeper look and ask for more info?
Thanks, J
I did do that yes, thank you J
Hi! Flatbase looks great! I have a few questions before I use this theme, though:
- How much control do I have over the URL? Can I update it in the future? Are there any limitations with redirects?
- Can I put the knowledge base site on a subdirectory of my WordPress site? Does Flatbase use the default post object and category taxonomy for the documentation articles (which would interfere with the post object and category taxonomy of my site)?
- Does Flatbase include Rich-Snippets metadata for breadcrumbs and search?
- What do you do to support scalability? Lots of content and lots of versions over many years? For example, can I have a whole set of content under one version type
- Can I add multiple directories to a URL? Can I put any type of content I would like on a directory page?
- How easy is it to set canonicals? Can I update canonicals for sets of pages at a time?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well.
With regards to your questions.
1) We use a custom post type and custom taxonomies, so basically you have the same freedom as you do with posts and taxonomies. The theme doesn’t come with any special feature regarding permalinks, but I’m pretty sure you can extend that functionality with plugins or custom coding, if needed.
2) Yes, as any WordPress site, you can install it on a subdomain or subdirectory. We use a custom post type for articles and custom taxonomies to set categories and tags for the articles. This was created so you don’t have problems with the post or taxonomies. You can still have a blog in your site and they will be two different things.
3) I’m not sure what you refer to when you mention rich-snippets and metadata for breadcrumbs and search. We have a lot of hooks (actions and filters) for you to customize the theme via child theme or custom plugin.
4) I’m not sure if I get your question regarding scalability. The data structure is the same as WordPress uses for its posts and taxonomies, so in case you want to scale your website, then the process would be the same as any other WordPress site.
5) Do you mean having categories and subcategories on an URL? That’s not part of the theme, you’ll need to customize that with some SEO plugin or something like that.
6) What do you mean when you mention canonicals?
Best, J
