Hi I just purchased Norway but I don’t have the data files too import the demo.
What shall I do
Hello Andreas_Pavlides,
Here are the links to demo data XML files:
Posts https://major-themes.com/files/norway8/posts.xml
Pages https://major-themes.com/files/norway8/pages.xml
Everything https://major-themes.com/files/norway8/everything.xml
They can be imported using Standard WordPress Importer.

Hi there, I bought Norway7 last year. I would really like to update to v8 but most of the features appear unavailable once I installed the new version. Such as the new homepage layout and effects, recent posts visualisation, etc. I would really appreciate if you could give me some help. Thanks!
Hello FedM
If you like the previous theme design there is absolutely no need to update. You can still install the version 8 and test it out, to compare and change it back without loosing any customizations.
If you absolutely need some feature or design element from Norway7 please let me know.
Norway version 9 will be released this summer and i would love to hear your thoughts about what it should look like
- Luke
Thanks Luke for your feedback! Since I liked the latest version better, I have actually installed v8 already and tried to import the ‘everything.xml’ file to get everything as shown in your demo. Unfortunately the file looks like expired and it appears that I cannot get all new features just installing the theme, but currently my website is quite messed up
...any suggestion (please)?
Looking forward to checking v9 out soon!
Federico
Hello Federico,
Demo file everything.xml includes WooCommerce posts so it would not import unless you’ve installed this plugin.
You should not import demo content after installing the new theme version, just activate it and it should work from the box if you already have blog posts / pages.
You will receive email notification when new theme version will be released

Hello, I like this theme but would need to insert google maps on the homepage and the posts. Would this be easily possible with this theme and how? Thank you!
Hello sabina_doring,
Yes it’s possible, i will create a page that connects to the homepage. It will dispaly all the content you wish including google maps.
In posts you can just embed the map like a regular block.
Hope this answers your question
- Luke
Thank you, Luke! Does this mean an upgrade of the theme? When would this be scheduled?
This means that most changes that customers request will be made on their theme installation.
Including adding the google maps to homepage.
wow, amazing… I’ll surely come back to you soon. Thanks a lot!!!
Awesome! Just send me a message at support@major-themes.com with all the customizations you need after you purchase the theme
Hi, Your theme is perfect! Could you help me find a counter for “5 min read 4 views”. I put wp counter and now information differs. The counter included in your theme shows less reading time than counter from WP. Thanks a lot in advance!
Hello AndriyPetryna,
Let me clarify, do you want to remove the built-in counter?
- Luke
I’d like to customise it, where to set it, where it appears? Because sometime it is where it should be, sometimes not. There is no “reading” counter in mobile version at all. Could you tell me is it all possible to do or shall I use 3rd party plugins for it?
Absolutely, i can customize it for you.
Just send me a message at support@major-themes.com with the details (preferably screenshots) on where it should appear and i will make the proper adjustments to theme code.

Hello drtheeb,
Its seems like the form is working right now.
Let me know if there is anything else i can help you with.

Is there a way to change the appearance of links to a color rather than just underlined text?
Hello amber1045,
Yes the easiest way to do this is going to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
Copy-paste the code below and changing the color:
body.single .content article .post-content a, body.page .content article .post-content a {
color: #ff0000;
}
Don’t forget to click “Publish”. Hope this helps!
- Luke
Worked perfect! Thank you so much for the help. I love the theme.
I have two different types of posts. The first is regular blogs. The second are places. Each place must behave just like a blog, but also has a location, so that I can show places on maps around the site, using filters by category etc. Is this possible?
Hello sebtaylor,
Yes it’s possible to create additional template for “places” post type.
After you purchase the theme please send me a message at support@major-themes.com so i can create such template for you.
- Luke
Sorry i’m not entirely clear on your reply. Will those places have a blgo page of their own, behave exactly like a blog, but also have a geo-location field that allows me display them all on a map?
If you use plugin for maps it’s easy to integrate to custom post types and add the field.
Hello,
first of all i want to thank you for this really cool theme which is logically and intuitively thought through. Unfortunately, I’m coming to some limits now for which I have to turn to you.
The theme is already activated on my domain: www.fanaticar.de .
Originally it was planned to show the posts in full width but here is the first problem. Despite a width of 1920 to 2560 (driving report/ Fahrberichte ) the pictures are then displayed blurred. Only in the current view the pictures are sharp although they are formatted much larger. Did I miss any setting?
The next problem concerns older contributions. It happens more often that the widgets on the right side of the page are set to the bottom. Example: https://fanaticar.de/news/2015/headphonize-kopfhoerer-test-mit-dj-tomekk/29087/ . Where could the error be?
You can also see it here: The title image is slightly shifted to the left. With other older contributions it is smaller than the other pictures…
and one more question. I would like to keep the widgets on the right side of the posts but I don’t like the current width of the images. Is it possible to maximize the width further? I’d be happy with a 900 width. Otherwise I have no choice but to disable the widgets on the side.
It would be great if you could help me here.
Greetings from Hamburg

Hello marioroman,
1. Seems like some plugin is re-scaling images to lower resolution. You can try to disable image minifying plugins you are using and see if this will fix the issue.
2/3. To fix the issues with sidebar and title images you can add this code in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
body.single:not(.woocommerce-page).post_sidebar .content-singular .main-post {
flex: 1;
}
body.single:not(.woocommerce-page) .content article, body.page:not(.woocommerce-page) .content article {
max-width: 900px !important;
}
.bekento_thumbnail_recent_posts .post-title {
margin-left: 20px !important;
}
Don’t forget to click “Publsih”.
Image rescaling/minifying plugin you are using is causing the “title” images to appear smaller too.
Let me know if this helps or contact me at support@major-themes.com with access to WordPress admin panel and i will make fixes for you.
- Luke
Send you a mail. Thanks a lot.
Hi, I’m using Norway8 on https://serenarehab.com I have a problem with mobile users who want to submit a form, the Gravity Form doesnt seem to load the ajax and confirmation opens in new window. This doesnt happen on desktop. Only mobile.
I disabled the caching, disabled all plugins, but problem insists. Gravity Forms says its a theme problem. So I’m hoping you can help.
So problem is: if a user visits the website via a mobile, Gravity Forms confirmations open in a new window instead same page (ajax) like it should. All forms have ajax active and no-conflict mode is enabled.
Please help! Our visits are 80% mobile.
Hello ellefaye,
Please send me link to your website and access to WordPress admin panel at support@major-themes.com
I will help you with this issue

Hi. Is there online documentation and it is possible to get access to it before purchasing.
Hello, pierreraby!
First of all, thank you for your interest in Norway theme.
Yes, we have great documentation available online: https://major-themes.com/doc/norway8.html
Feel free to reach me anytime and I will answer all your questions about the Norway theme.
I can also install and customize it for your needs. This option is included in theme price.
- Luke
Thanks for the information. The plan if we use your theme is to apply it to an already existing wordpress site to give it a nicer look and feel. Any suggestions or hints on what to look out for when applying you theme to an already existing site (we would be using a staging copy to do this)
Hello pierreraby,
You can send me website link or previous theme name at support@major-themes.com i will check everything for you.
In case theme you’re using currently does not feature any custom page builders, gallery plugins, shortcodes, etc. changing theme should go smoothly.
In any case let me know if you’ll notice any issues after Norway theme installation and i will help you deal with them.
- Luke
The email address you gave me is bouncing back. Please advise
The theme is theme1369
Email me directly at lukestateson@gmail.com
I could not find this theme, seems like it was not a ThemeForest theme.
Hi, is there a way for captions to appear under the photo instead of being a popover?
Hello, leonkilat!
Yes, absolutely.
You can add this code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and captions will appear under the photo:
.wp-block-image figcaption {
position: static !important;
opacity: 1 !important;
transform: none !important;
padding-top: 15px !important;
}
- Luke
Thanks!
Hi, is there a way to display the caption even on mobile? When the window gets smaller, the caption disappears. When you view the site on mobile, you can’t see the photo caption.
Yes, here is updated code:
.wp-block-image figcaption {
display: block !important;
position: static !important;
opacity: 1 !important;
transform: none !important;
padding-top: 15px !important;
}
Thanks for your very prompt response. It worked. But I noticed that you cannot pinch to zoom into images on mobile – is this an intended feature?
Yes, but you can enable it in
Appearance > Theme Editor > Theme Header (header.php) > Line 7 replace with
<meta name='viewport' content='width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, viewport-fit=cover' />
And click “Update file”.
Thanks, again. It worked.
You’re welcome, leonkilat!
Let me know if i could help you with anything else.
Also if you like Norway theme you can renew your support subscription, I would really appreciate it
Hi, i have bought your norway theme and installed it too. but i dont find the Demo File ? Where do i get it?
Greetings from Hamburg , Germany
Hello, marioroman80!
The files should be in full theme archive, but just in case you don’t have this archive here is direct links:
Posts: http://major-themes.com/files/norway8/posts.xml
Pages: http://major-themes.com/files/norway8/pages.xml
Everything including WooCommerce: http://major-themes.com/files/norway8/everything.xml

In your Norway theme, how do you create a page with a hero banner on top below the navigation? I’d like to start the page without a title – Maybe overlay the title if needed over the hero image. Thanks.
Hey, bmeraly!
Can you send me a screenshot of how this hero banner should look like and I’ll help you with it.
You can contact me at support@major-themes.com

Hi,
I love Norway theme and read both comments and reviews, respect for your great work!
I am looking for a well supported and regularly updated blog theme, a more modern, clean look. Would you please be so kind and check my page: https://kliker.si/ I would like to hear your designer, graphic opinion, do you think your theme would support my type of blog posts, would there be place for my logo (and the subtle illustraton)?
Many thanks in advance for your help! Regards, Maja
Hello, Maja!
First of all thank you for your interest in Norway theme and thank you for the kind words. Indeed i try to update it on a monthly basis.
I will try to answer all your questions.
1. Header can be customized for your needs, although it does not support this type of background set up like on your blog, but for you I will make this customization without extra fee, just send me access to WordPress admin panel at support@major-themes.com after you purchase the theme.
2. Theme does not support slideshow featured images, it could be only single images. And unfortunately, i don’t think that this feature will be available in future theme versions.
Everything else should work fine. And if you’ll find some issues after installing theme I will help you solve all of them
- Luke
Hi Luke,
I’ve just bought your Norway theme, so excited about installing it, I feel it would bring a completely new chapter to my blogging! Whoopee!
When everything is prepared, I’ll send you the details to access my WP admin panel and build-in the header with my logo and illustration, I would be more than thankful, it means a lot to me and my readers. Thank you!!!
Regards from Slovenia (a very, very small country in EU), Maja
Hey, Maja!
Awesome, I hope Norway theme will bring wonderful new experience to your blog.
Let me know when everything is prepared and you’ll send me admin details.
Luke
Hi, Awesome theme! I have been using it since version 7. Now I finally updated to 8 and just want to clarify:
Is there no option to display featured images on pages? and the functionality to display the featured image below the post title as in version 7 is gone as well?
I really liked that design option. Sorry if I am missing something.
Thank you, Benny
Hey, Benny!
1. No, I’m terribly sorry for this issue. Pages definitely should have featured images, i will soon release the version that fixes this issue and notify you when the updated version with a fix will be available.
2. All featured images are currently displaying below the post title. Do you want them to be above the post title?
- Luke
Hi Luke,
Thanks so much for the quick reply!
1. Good to know, I look forward to that!
2. I just checked and actually the last version I used was version 6! I liked the way the featured image displayed as the header background for each post, replacing the main header background, that is what I meant.
I’m happy with the design as is, just really liked that option in the old version
Cheers, Benny
Hey, Benny!
1. I’ve released theme update, you can download and install the new version (just delete previous one). Pages now have featured images. And again, sorry for this issue.
2. I can make adjustments to the theme for you and make the featured image appear as a header background if you want, just send me a message at support@major-themes.com
Luke
Hi there,
started playing with the Norway theme and enjoyed it a lot.
After a bit of tweaking, I have most of my issues figures out – only one I cannot get solved so far: how do I use local avatars instead of Gravatar in the Author profile?
Thanks!
Hey, stg,
Thanks! That’s very nice to hear
For local avatars you can use the Simple Local Avatars plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-local-avatars/
It should create upload avatar form when editing user profile.
Let me know if this helps.
- Luke
Thank you for the quick reply. I had a problem with caching obviously, now it also works with the plugin I prefer… Anyway, problem solved. Thanks again!
Great! Let me know if there will be anything else i can help you with
Just a short question: is there a simple way to show the Short Product Description in the shop listing page under the title / above the add to cart button – similar to the grid layout in the articles listing page? Thanks for caring!
Hey, stg!
The easiest solution is to hook-in the product excerpt after post title.
This code can be added at the bottom of functions.php file. Go to Appearance > Theme Editor > “Theme Functions” (functions.php).
Copy-paste the code there before the last line of the file, just above ?>
function norway8_product_description() {
the_excerpt();
}
add_action('woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item_title', 'norway8_product_description');
Click “Update File” and you’ll see the product description in shop listing page.
Let me know if this helps
- Luke
Solved my issue, thank you!
Great! Let me know if there will be anything i can help you with
Hi i just renewied the support now, because i really have trouble after update your norway- theme. i loose a lot of my customized changes…because the child theme is not working anymore. what i have to do?
Hello, immergruen!
First of all i’m sorry for this issue. Norway 8 is a completely new theme made from scratch, so changes in child theme for previous one could not work.
Can you send me access to WordPress admin panel and a list of changes you want to be made at support@bekento.space and i will help you. I will move all the changes from child theme version 7 to a version 8.
- Luke
Hi. Just saw that Norway 8 has arrived. Just had a quick look. Is it so that the pages still don’t have a sidebar? Only the blog-page?
Hey, Cathinkaingman!
The pages have a sidebar, you can choose the template when editing the page in the right menu – Page Attributes > Template > Sidebar.
The posts have sidebars too, you can activate them globally in Appearance > Customize > Content > “Show sidebar inside posts”.
Hope this helps
- Luke
It did, thanks! Next question. Pages that in the menu are sub headings doesn’t show properly in the mobilversion. They are cut on both the left & right side. What do I do wrong?
Can you send me a screenshot at support@bekento.space
I get it right when I choose to have the page as standard but not if I choose sidebar.
Can you still send me a screenshot because i can’t fix it before i understand where the issue is located.
WordPress 5.3 Introduced new image downscaling function. When image is uploaded it’s downscaled to a maximum of 2560 pixels by width/height.
To disable it you can edit the functions.php and add this code:
add_filter('big_image_size_threshold', '__return_false');
Hello,
I want to show breadcrumbs on my site with the Norway7 theme and have enabled these settings in Yoast SEO, but on my website the breadcrumbs do not show. Does Norway7 support breadcrumbs at all?
Kind regards, travelkees.nl
Hello, TravelKees!
Yes, Norway does not have breadcrumbs, but i can add them for you.
Just send me a message at support@bekento.space with access to WordPress admin panel.
- Luke
