Hi, We got a problem when customer place an order, the invoice generated by opencart is different with the item and amount checkout by the user. For example, we have item A with price $240, during the checkout customer paid right amount $240, but when the invoice generated in the system (to be viewed by cutomer and admin) consist of item F with amount $340. We facing this issue to the couple of orders. This issue occasionally happen, with so far 4-5 cases like this. The other order by different buyer seems no problem. We got issue as customer will have wrong item and it’s hassle when we need to cross check with our payment provider record. Please help. Thanks.

Hello, where can I edit the category/subcategory icons in the drop down menu? I added them last month but can’t remember where to find them and I want to change them.
I found where to edit the category/subcategory icons in the header/main menu area after doing a bit more digging. When will you put up any video tutorials on Journal 3? I’m learning as I go (I am not a web designer) but sometimes it’s quite tedious to figure it out even with the documentation. Overall, I’m liking the changes compared to Journal 2.
Hi, yes it’s much more powerful than J2. We have a one hour long video made about the Journal header, but it still hasn’t been completed with the audio track, we estimate 1-2 weeks for completion.

can you please help us how to enable left column on mobile phones? we will use an other filter module but it is not working on mobiles because developer told us that journal 3 don’t have left column on mobiles. how to fix this problem? we can’t find the settings on theme panel.
Hi, the side columns are disabled on phones but the filter module is automatically displayed in the off-canvas container so it works like the mobile menu.
As for other page layout modules you can place them in the content-top or content-bottom positions for mobile devices, but have those rows or columns disabled on desktop via the Status option so you only see them on mobile.

The J3 image caching system is a huge problem in this theme. I understand search engines support correct resizing, but when you’re resizing an 800×800 and making it 3000×3000 it kind of defeats the object. Same with the coded Slider, Revolution was much better and lighter than the J3 coded one.
I’ve literally had 7 of my customers ask to move to another theme over the past month. J2 still is a next-gen theme, J3 is terrible in more ways than one, anyone who uses J3 and understands how websites rank, speed, and seo, should avoid this and have a developer add features into J2.
Hi, you can control image dimensions from theme admin page for all sections / modules used in your store. It’s recommended to upload bigger images and then resize them down as needed in order to make them look good on all devices with any screen pixel density. For example, you can upload images like 3000×2000 for slider and then set image dimensions for slider on desktop devices to 1500×1000 and they will still look good on retina devices (like macbooks, etc).

Most my clients have product images from 600×600 to 1000×1000 and it’s creating files that are 2000×2000 and making them 270kb which is hindering performance drastically.
Hi, bigger images are used for high dpi screens, consider uploading images at twice the size you want them to be used on your store so they will be resized down and still look good on high dpi screens (retina devices).

Hello! How to change blog post on home page from the blog
Hi, you’d have to edit that module used on the home page to display whatever blog posts you want. Look through Journal > Modules > Posts, or locate the module used in the home page builder in Journal > Layouts > Home…locate the row with the module and quick edit the module directly from there (small pencil button seen when hovering over the module).

How can show all categories not include sub categories when click the “all” in the search bar? Because it just shows part of categories. I tired to edit in the Journal > Styles > Search > Categories > type, if choose “all”, it will shows all categories & sub categories, if choose “top”, it just shows part of categories. Thank you.
Hi, the “Top” option will show all your top level categories. If you have too many an overflow scrollbar may be generated and you have to scroll within the dropdown. For more info please file a ticket on our support page and consult with our developers.

Hi, there is no such option in our theme but if you’re familiar with javascript, you can edit catalog/view/theme/journal3/js/journal.js and add your code there in the submit form handler function.

Hi, I don’t need support, but I found 2 minor bugs in journal 3: 1. In quickview links like brand are opening in a new window. I think all the links should open on the same window. (Tested also on journal 3 – theme 7) 2. When you set a slider on for example Home page at max width 1400px and you make the screen in width smaller, it seems that there is a small space on the left of 1 or 2 px when you set the window width at the full width of the slider.

Hi, that’s not a bug, links open in new page because there is not enough space to display other pages content in the quickview popup.
Not entirely sure how you mean about the slider but that may just fall on a sub-pixel, especially within Chrome when manually resized. This is css browser artefact but not visible when accessed on that resolution natively. Try to refresh the page at that width and it should load on a full pixel.

I think there is something wrong with my quickview display (https://imgur.com/7AiMQv4). Somehow the quickview layout is distorted. I have copied everything from the demo theme and all the configurations are the same. Though on my website the quickview layout isn’t like the demo template. As you can see the configurations are exactly the same as journal demo 5 theme.

i bought journal 3, installed clean install, followed all instructions, imported demo 9 and the site is badly broken, have attempted 3 times incase something went wrong in export/import/install, always sameresult, support does not seem to reply and their export system is broken (at least on demo 9)

Thank you very much for your reply! Just to inform other users, do not install journal 3 with php 7.4. There is a misconfiguration with this version. 7.3 works perfectly! Journal 3 is the best opencart theme ever!

Hi, unfortunately, that is not possible with the default Opencart subcategories widget. The subcategories only are also available in the Filter module, you can set up multiple filter modules, each with only certain widgets and place them in the side columns.

Hi, yes Journal supports any language in the storefront, however we don’t have them set up in all demos, you can see it in Demo 1 though, but all demos works the same, it’s the same exact theme, just styled differently.
So once you have multiple languages installed you will see the selector in your header.

i am using journal 2 and wants to update to journal 3, is there any demo admin live so i can check how everything works from admin how to modify product modules etc, is there carousel and custom modules to display products like it was in journal 2?
Hi, you can access any Journal 3 admin by simply typing admin in the demo url. Use: demo/demo for user/pass.
Some features are completely different, but there is carousel mode on several modules in Journal 3 and a much more advanced product display module (although the animated custom sections from J2 are not available anymore).

Hi, When I installed the new version OC 3.0.3.2. and I uploaded Journal 3.0.46. I got an error message, exec(): Unable to fork [jpegoptim—version 2>&1] in …/system/library/journal3/utils/img.php on line 80. and then I downloaded from Themeforest again and uploaded again to our server and I refreshed my Opencart modification. I got the same error. What is the problem with it? Could you help me, please?

Hi, that comment has been responded and the issue was fixed right away, from what we know, the issue is resolved in the latest theme version and nobody else reported it after, make sure you have the very latest theme version installed on your store. Since we cannot replicate it on our end, please file a ticket on our support page if you still have it after you update the theme to the latest version.

I got a lot of third party extension on my journal 3 theme, after theme update, will extension and their settings works properly ? for one extension we pay a lot of money to be installed ( Bank card payment modules ) so want to be sure that update will not affect to our extension and modules. Hi, this depends on how your extension was developed / configured. If that requires theme code changes those changes will be removed when updating the theme, consult with your extension developers for more information.
