Idea: Having elements like the category grids which you can link to specific pages as the source would be great.
I am making a woocommerce store and need to use the catalogue functionality but would like to have more control on the catalogue pages design and content. So I’m using normal pages instead with woocommerce products element from a specific category.
I really like the design on the woocommerce catalogue grid links but can’t have them link to pages instead of default catalogue pages.

1. Each license you purchase of Salient allows to you use it on one domain. If you change your domain, you can still use it without purchasing a second, you only need a second license when using it on two domains at the same time.

On my site: https://www.claaseco.co.za/water/ I created mega menu under water, but it floats left although set to full width. It needs to float right so that when you hover over water menu item it displays the mega menu underneath it. How do I do this. If I insert: body header#top nav >ul >li.megamenu { position: relative!important; } then only part of menu displays to the right??

}
In order to not target the megamenu, alter the snippet to be the following:
.sf-menu > li:not(.megamenu) > ul {
width: 20em !important;
}

In the Salient options panel > header navigation > animations effects tab, enable the “Header Resize On Scroll” option. You can then define the “Header Logo Shrink Number” – the number entered in there will be the amount that your logo shrinks.

Are alternative video embeds allowed for the video lightbox? I’m trying to use a selfhosted Peertube instance and the embed only works in Raw HTML. Not sure how embeds work but just wondering if it’s a limitation or I messed something up. Thanks!

Hey Joshuats, You can accomplish that by setting the option “Secondary Header Mobile Functionality” to “Display items above mobile header” in the Salient options panel > header navigation > secondary header bar tab
and then adding this into the custom CSS box:

hello, just purchased Salient.
I am trying to use any kind of slider on every different single blog post.
I am currently using Blog Header Type : Full screen with meta under. What I am trying to achieve is to be able to insert any slider, such as Nectar slider, into the header.
Is there a way to set up this ? an example would be so I can be able to add the sldier shortcode into the header, in every post settings.

You would need to copy the single.php file into your child theme and remove the call to “nectar_page_header” – this would give you the option to then use a slider via the page builder and have it act as the top level element.

on Variable Height Minimal, if I have a slider at the top of the post, it will look good if there is no featured image. It will show the Title and Category in title, and right below with a gap there is the slider + rest of content
The problem is that I need to have a featured image for the image to show in Category section, Masonry Blog Fullwidth, but NOT in the single blog post on the header.
Can you help me with a css code that will hide the header image on single blog post, and it will only show the title and category, and right below without a gap the blogs body content.

You can disable the featured image from being added into the header in the Salient options panel > blog tab by disabling the option “Single Post Header Inherits Featured Image”. If that’s not working for you, please share the post URL in regards

i was just wondering how to make animation effects on mobile devices. i had just found “Disable Parallax Backgrounds On Mobile Devices” in the Salient background settings and couldn’t find it a way with WPBakery Page Builder in front end.

I have another question.
I want to keep my fullscreen rows, but not have the ‘sticky’ scroll option. So I would like to be able to scroll freely, yet keep the fullscreen rows and thus the ‘menu’ on the right side of the page that inidicates the row-IDs.
How can I do this?

That would not be possible without custom development. It would actually be a smaller amount of custom coding to simply turn that global option off, use the individual “Full height row” option on each row and then add some new logic in to create a side dot navigation.

Now I decided to not work with Fullscreen rows any longer, and the logo re-appeared again. Makes sense.
Is there a CSS snippet to hide the logo on the first row of the page when I no longer work with full-screen rows? FYI: The website stil starts with a full-heigth nectar slider.

Hi, that worked perfectly. Last question: the mobile version should show the logo since the header bar is always visible there. On mobile the logo is not visible at all now, even if you scroll.

I tried to use some newer fonts in Font Awesome, but it seems they don’t work. I checked and the theme still seems to be using Version 4.2 instead of the most recent which is 5.13. Will this be updated soon, or if I want to add an override into my child theme would that work? and which files do I need to make the override work? is it just the CSS and the font files? or are there others?
Hey monstrous, Salient is using fontawesome 4.7 and has opted not to update to 5.x yet due to the rewrite of the library with breaking changes for existing users and larger file size.
