Hello, the theme looks great.
I have a few pre-sale questions:
1) On the homepage, would it be possible just to search with job title and category, and not the location? Essentially, we’d want ‘Job title’ ‘Category’ ‘Search Button’ without the location. Would this be possible and how?
2) What plugins would we need from WPJM to achieve full functionality as shown in the demo?
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Many thanks,
Zo
Hi
ad1. Yes you can disable that in option
ad2. The best way is to buy the core add-on https://wpjobmanager.com/add-ons/bundle/ you would need those plugins
Hi, I’m looking for a theme to build a portal where companies can upload job listings and applicants can get a profile and upload their resumes. Both would pay to use the portal. Would I need the regular or extended license for this?
Hi
Regular license is fine
How can I exchange messages between candidates and employers? I can’t figure it out! Thank you.
Found it! However I see an error `Message couldn’t be send`
I’ve tried to register a candidate and it is not working as expected. I just see `Sending user info, please wait…` and nothing happens. I followed the registration process but I cannot log in as a candidate. I’ve read the documentation but I couldn’t find anything wrong in my configuration. Could you help please? This is very important!
Selecting the option `Login/Registration Form Type` as `Separate Page` solved the issue.
The Job page with a background that ships the demo has a transparent font that it’s very difficult to read. I think it can be improved.

Oki doki
Filter By Rate & Filter By Salary checkboxes have a bug. When reloading the page with those checked, then you need to uncheck them to see the filter option, so it works reversed! and when discovering the filter options, these are disabled! This is a major issue!!

It might be helpful for people that can’t find how to make the company shortcode work and is looking on the net to find a plugin for that. No one says those are needed, but it’s missing which are!
The plugin `WP Job Manager – Company Profiles` is missing in the package and it’s necessary to list the companies and make the shortcode work!
This plugin is available in wp.org directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-job-manager-companies/, it’s doesn’t need to be in package.
Ok, don’t you think it should be mentioned somewhere? I’m not trying to be picky, just helping! I’m creating a site and making sure everything works!
The most important part of the theme is how to sell job packages and I don’t see that documented anywhere. It’ll be really helpful to have a step-by-step guide on this.
That functionality is provided by WP Job Manager WC Paid Listing add-on and documentation for it is here https://wpjobmanager.com/document/woocommerce-paid-listings/
WorkScout is mainly a visual layer for WP Job Manager and it’s add-ons, most of documentation is on wpjm site
Let’s report some bugs: 1. The documentation shipped with the zip has a wrong link. Update the link in the index.html of the documentation. 2. The shortcode [pt_social_icons] is not working and I couldn’t find which plugin is necessary to make it work. 3. The current documentation is out of date, the apply with facebook add-on is not longer available and the option to register anyone doesn’t exists in the location mentioned. I’ll continue posting issues here!
Is this a threat?
Documentation is here http://www.docs.purethemes.net/workscout/ – I admit it needs an update since we released version 2.0 of WorkScout but I simply didn’t have time yet to focus on that. For the shortcode I replied to your other comment. Apply with facebook add-on was provided by WP Job Manager and indeed it’s discountinued.
What do you mean by “option to register anyone doesn’t exists in the location mentioned”?
this doesn’t exists `Settings → General → Membership → Anyone can register.`
Of course it is, unless you have Network (Multisite) Installation for your WordPress
The `pt_social_icons` shortcode isn’t working for me. What plugins is necessary for this to work? Thank you.
‘Web Fonts Social Icons WP’ that comes with the theme, but it’s just for social icons, there are many better plugins for that
Nop, I haven’t received that plugin!
I checked and indeed we don’t ship it anymore, it was our old plugin and it was causing problems, there are hundreds better plugin to have social icons on your site
Oki doki! another thing to keep the ball rolling on this project!
Hi guys,
if i create a recruitment site based on your template and charged employers to post a job – do i need to get a regular or extended license?
Hi
Regular license is fine
Maybe we can put this on the agenda for the next update: https://tinyurl.com/ycrtkgm2
The section from “Job Detials” onwards should leave a little more space to the registration section above. It’s a liitle squeezed currently.
Thanks a lot!
.dashboard-content .dashboard-list-box-content {
margin-top:20px; }
in Appearance -> Additional CSS
Hi!
We did update the live installation now to the current version. Unfortunately, we face some style issues now that we haven’t had on our test server.
Here are some examples:
- https://closerfinden.de/unternehmen-job-anlegen/ (Upper part is wider than the part below)
- https://closerfinden.de/closer-profil-anlegen/ (Content part is leaner)
- https://closerfinden.de/my-profile/ (Field icons are displaced)
Do you have any idea where this can come from?
Cheers Florian
Every page seems to be a little too wide. And the mobile menu also looks a little corrupted
Hi
Try to clear cache in your browser, I don’t see anything wrong with those links.
Hi! Thanks a lot for your reply. You are right. All the links get displayed correctly in other browsers. Sorry for only checking that now. I have cleared the Chrome cache – where the issues occur before – but I will give it some more time. Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
Hi since i updated my shortcodes stopped working? please help urgently
[jobs_categories full_width=”yes” hide_empty=”0″ type=”all” orderby=”naem” order=”ASC” number=”100″ from_vs=”yes” title=”Job Categories”]
[resumes show_filters="false" orderby="title" order="DESC" per_page="10" show_pagination="true"]
must i change them?
https://uberaffix.com/home-2/the login and sign up buttons have also disappeared even though i turned on it the settings
please help urgeently
I really need to know how to change the text color from black to white on the banner that appears across all pages.
The text on the homepage is white which stands out with an image behind. Yet all the other pages put a black overlay on the picture and the text doesn’t show up.
- this isn’t the header it is the bar where the page name and link shows
#titlebar.photo-bg:before { z-index: 0; }
That worked. Thank you!
Whilst doing this I came across another issue. When posting a job, I fill out the form press preview and there is error. It takes me back to “job type” (freelance, full time, etc) it says this field is required even though it is pre-filled and I filled manually. I cannot find a setting to turn this off as a required field.
Could you point me in the right direction?
Contact me please via Support Tab with admin access, I’ll check it
Hello again, after a week without any answer I decided to relist the bugs I found.
1) Necessary fields. On the “Post a Job” page, when the “Job Category” field is not filled in, it displays the text (this field is required) at a wrong place and does not disappear when you scroll down or up the mouse. Also the “Description” field, if not written, puts the cursor lower than the text box, in a wrong place. You can see these issues if you fill in all the required fields except the “Description” field and press “Preview”.
2) Search pages with map. The function “Set zoom with scrollwheel” doesn’t work. I want to turn off scrolling, especially for mobiles it is a big problem.
3) Tag select. When we select a tag from a job, the “change category list” doesn’t work and the type of the job doesn’t float correctly.
4) Register. When you click on the register button the screen goes down very low. If you put something wrong a message appears which you can’t see if you don’t scroll up. And then it sticks there even if you change from register to sign in. You can see this if you press “Register” without writing anything in the fields above, neither email nor username.
5) Sign in. The link register doesn’t work.
6) Resumes. The property “Allow editing of pending resumes” doesn’t work.
7) Company. At a company page I have no titlebar.
8 ) Messages. If you send a message to a candidate or to a Job and then you would like to send again a problem arises. You must refresh the page because the message is still there. The same problem occurs when you register, you must refresh the page to delete what you have written to the popup window.
I am waiting for your answers.
Hi
ad1. This issues don’t happen on our test site or in our demo (you can try yourself) – I can’t recreate it and I assume it’s effect of some plugins/customizations you used
ad2. In latest update 2.0.11 the map scrolling on mobiles is disabled. Clear cache in your browser on your phone if you don’t see it
ad3. Can you share link to that page?
ad4. I don’t see how this is a problem unless your display height is less than 600px.
ad5. What link? you just said in previous point that Registrations goes down very low, so it works?
ad6. Ok, that I can confirm, I need to update candidate-dashboard.php, I’ll try to to it after weekend
ad7. Unfortunately the company plugin we’ve been using for last 4 years is abandoned by his creator and might not work correctly. This is 3rd party plugin and we’re working on replacement for that
ad8. Can’t you just delete the content you already wrote? There’s no need to refresh page
Hello again, Thanks for your answer.
1) I disabled all the plugins except Workscout-Core and WP Job Manager but the issue remains. I test it to your demo site and Ι saw it. if you want I can send you a screenshot from your site.
3) You can see it to your demo site http://preview.themeforest.net/item/workscout-job-board-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/13591801?_ga=2.171868518.798202925.1561996997-207291968.1561839439 if you add a job with a tag.
4) This is a problem because you must scroll up to see what happened. Someone may think that his registration was done correctly and not see that there is a problem.
5) To this page http://preview.themeforest.net/item/workscout-job-board-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/13591801?_ga=2.171868518.798202925.1561996997-207291968.1561839439 the link “Don’t have an account? Sign up now!” doesn’t work.
Hello again, Thanks for your answer.
1) I disabled all the plugins except Workscout-Core and WP Job Manager but the issue remains. I test it to your demo site and Ι saw it. Here is a screenshot from your site https://www.dropbox.com/s/3fszp59gggslx9z/fields.png?dl=0 .
3) You can see it to your demo site, if you add a job with a tag and then press on that tag.
4) This is a problem because you must scroll up to see what happened. And if a user make something wrong he will not understand what happened.
5) To this page https://www.dropbox.com/s/n9ubdfi8h0o0n3h/register.png?dl=0 the link “Don’t have an account? Sign up now!” doesn’t work.
Hi
ad1. I went further and installed fresh WordPress with only one plugin enabled “WP Job Manager” and default TwentyTwenty theme, with the setting “Multi-select Listing Types” enabled in Job Listings -> Settings, it does this “field is required” bug. It doesn’t do that if you disable the multi select. So the issue is with WPJM
ad3. Ok, I’ll push update for it
ad5. It works https://www.dropbox.com/s/b7fnr1kbe5xenjd/screencast-workscout.in-2020.05.04-08_23_52.gif?dl=0
5) This issue is only to page, not to the popup
Hello, do you have any news about Job Tags. Nothing works when you select a job tag. Neither the get location, neither the change category, neither the keyword field.
Hi, do you have some news about the update on login page ? It still redirecting to the my account page in the case of pop-up instead of dashboard or home. Regards.
Hi
I’m sorry but what is this regarding to? Did you submit any ticket about it before? I couldn’t find anything from you.
Popup login is ajax based and it refreshes current website, doesn’t redirect anywhere
Hi, i was talking about some comments i saw here like this one one year ago, juste to know
For example : “Hi. I currentrly use WooCommerce for registration and log in. When a new user sign up he is redirectered to My Account page. But if already registered user sign in he is redirected to the main page of the website. How to make users who sign in be redirected to My Account / Dashboard page?”
Your answer : “There’s no option for that currently if you’re using popup login. But WorkScout will be soon updated with new login/registration system that is much more flexible” about the redirection of regiThere’s no option for that currently if you’re using popup login. But WorkScout will be soon updated with new login/registration system that is much more flexible”
Regards.
hello. can I use works out to set up a website for hourly recruitment where employers who are looking for employees to pay based on hourly jobs can find them?
Hi
this is job board theme so there’s no payment’s between users (just to clear it up) but generally I think yes, there’s rate per hour field for job listing so you could use it I guess
okay thanks. can I charge applicants a fee as they register or create their accounts on my website and can I also charge the employers a subscription fee to access candidates on the website?
Not really, you can charge them to submit resume or employers to submit job listing.
okay what I’m trying to find out is can I make the applicants pay a fee before they can get listed on my site? And can I also charge the employers a subscription fee to access and view candidates profile?
No, there are no such functionalities out of the box
Hi! When we updated to 2.0.11, the V2 recaptcha box on the Registration page no longer shows. It still shows up on 2.0.8. I saw the changelog and it says there’s an option to switch to V3, but I can’t find it in the Registration settings in Workscout core. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Sorry, figured it out, I needed to update Workscout Core. Thanks!
Thanks
