I try to prevent using all kind of extra plugins as it makes things complicated and is also a base to make errors much more easily. Not having WPML compatible is already a big minus.

I see that nothing of My-listing theme is being stored when using export tool in wordpress execpt the listings. No theme settings, custom css or any settings are in the export file. many themes have import/export theme options, but i cant find any of it in your theme?

Is there a certain place in the database where this info is stored? Same for custom taxonomies? Maybe i can import them straight in the database? Not the way it should work, but will solve my problem for now…

and also.. the plugin you suggest costs $50 for a single license a year because only the pro version can do custom taxonomies!

We do not advertise WPML compatibility. In fact we mentioned multiple times specifically that we do not support it on the theme description.

About the terms, they are saved on the database on this table

wp_term_taxonomy

Wordpress importer/exporter is not advanced enough to export custom taxonomies or custom fields so you have to use plugins for this. I see this plugin mentions taxonomy import on the description https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-ultimate-csv-importer/

Do you have any plans to store theme settings and custom taxonomies in the near future? If we can get this to work for multiple clients we need multiple licenses, but we look for a solution for languages and copying theme settings and taxonomies.

Of course we store them. Can you clarify?

When you create a My-listing site (lets say Site A) and you want to use the same theme settings on My-listing site B i always do a fresh install of wordpress and then I do a wordpress import from site A to site B.

Pages, Listings, posts etc are all copied

—> except the “post_type=job_listing&page=mylisting-custom-taxonomies” from the My-listing theme and the theme settings. “page=theme-general-settings”

I have to manually create all the “my listing theme” settings manually like header, footer, background colors, borders, in site B which require a lot of work.

I hope this makes it more clear.

Not sure what themes you used, but for the vast majority of premium themes, except very basic ones, that would work only partially, like it does with ML. There’s a reason most themes create custom demo importers

Anyway, we are working on a new demo import tool, and we’ll try to add an export feature. Should be available in 1-2 months.

Hi, there are lods of themes that have an option to import/export the theme settings. One example is Impreza, but there are a lot more..

I have bought wp-all-import/export in order to save huge amount of time for not adding taxonomies one by one.

I have following problem left which concerns WPML. I know you told me its not wmpl compatible, but for the purpose that is use the site i made it working for 95% with WPML.

The only problem is that the theme is conflicting with wpml taxonomy management. If I switch theme the taxonomy management of WPML is working, but if i go back to My-listing theme the taxonomy management of WPML has a bug.

Is it possible to resolve this issue as i only need to translate custom taxonomies and the site will be 100% WPML.

Unfortunately, until the plugin is officially supported, we can’t provide assistance for it. That is why we urge buyers not to buy if they expect WPML compatibility.

It’s not that we don’t want to help you, but there simply isn’t a simple solution for it that we can share. If there was, we would have included support for it already with the plugin. The issue you mentioned is 1 of many others you will encounter when using that plugin.

We have to make changes to the theme core to support it and that will take time. For now, you would need to consult with a developer to make an integration

That’s too bad. We have put in a lot of time to getting your theme work with WPML. You say it’s not compatible, but it’s possibl, depending on what the needs are without doing any extra coding. I have a site up and running using wpml with Mythemes.

I was hoping for a bit more cooperation as I think it’s not that hard to solve the taxonomy problem with WPML. Something is blocking the wpml page to open because of my-listing theme. Any other theme that is the active theme doesn’t have the same problem so it’s defenitly Mythemes. I think that any basic developer would found a solution rather quickly.

Because you are not eager to see if you can support we can’t continue with this theme and buy dozens of licenses that would be needed. I guess we both loose here.

I hope you understand that i don’t ask to do changes to the theme core to make it all wpml compatible, just that the wpml taxonomies page opens in wp admin. That’s all. Can’t really be that hard.

Yes, it’s definitely the theme I agree, which is not compatible with that plugin, as advertised. We can’t provide custom work for you, hence I recommended you hire a developer. We have thousands of users here. When we add such a feature, we’ll make it available for everyone.

I was not looking for a refund, just hoping for a solution.

There was only one small hurdle left to make Mylisting theme working with WPML without any extra coding or need of developers. I managed to have my-listing theme working in three languages. With just one install of wordpress so not using multisite or creating 3 seperate sites just for language.

Pages, post, Dashboard, explore page, detailed listing page, emails etc. All is working fine. I thought that the theme maker found it interesting that it could work like that but I guess it’s not. The only thing that doesnt work is that the taxonomy page of wpml is not opening. It looks like this is just a matter of conflict of javascript or another call of a script that conflicts. Unfortunately i am not a coder so i cant debug it myself, thats why i came to here for some help.

Just to make something clear enough is that i am not asking from you to create new codes or anything. I just hoped your support team could just have a look what is the cause for not opening one page of the wpml plugin namely taxonomy translation link.

It’s easy to reproduce by installing wpml and my-listing theme and go to wp-admin/admin.php?page=sitepress-multilingual-cms/menu/taxonomy-translation.php

You will see the page keeps spinning around. It’s just unfortunate you are not able to assist us in this as again we have made the mylisting theme ready for 99% working, good enough for us with wpml… Next to that.. It also looks great so we are sad we might not be able to continue with it!

We have looked at it many times in the past, we can’t provide a solution currently. That’s our position regarding this.

WPML won’t work for filters, theme options, listings and more. It works partially for some elements only. I would not recommend building your business with it in mind as you will encounter many issues down the line, I would rather recommend a multi-site setup instead until the theme is fully compatible

I understand your concern about this, but I have explained that the way we use it it’s working.with WPML The theme options, filters, explore page, listings, dashboard etc. is working multilingual as per our needs. We don’t expect anything more of it.

I have only requested someone just to check why the taxonomy page of WPML is not opening as of your theme, that’s all. If it works we can use it as is and buy more licenses.

Because you will not have a closer look at this issue i have brought it to WPML development, but it is basically not the right way of working, because they don’t sell themes, but they were willing to have a closer look and even setup a test site for it..
