Another error after 4.4.2 update.
We use Blog Extended Grid and before the update it showed the thumbnail of the post featured image normally. After the update there are no thumbnails. All posts are standard format.
So we reviewed the code of the thegem/gem-templates/news-grid/content-item.php template file that renders Blog Extened Grid data and at about line 377 the below code is what causes the problem and doesn’t show the post thumbnail:
echo thegem_get_post_featured_content(get_the_ID(), $thegem_size, false, $thegem_sources);
But if we use the code below which is just above the problematic one at about line 374 of the same file we can see the post thumbnail again in our Blog Extended Grid:
thegem_post_picture($thegem_size, $thegem_sources, array('class' => 'img-responsive', 'alt' => get_post_meta(get_post_thumbnail_id(get_the_ID()), '_wp_attachment_image_alt', true)));
Definitely a new error that should be fixed asap.
No scratch that my bad! The update was not performed well and the file was corrupted. I uploaded again all theme files and everything works!

My Blog Page is showing the selected 3x-justified grid correctly, but when i assign this page as a Blog Page in Settings > Reading it switches to a ‘default’ appereance view. I can avoid this happening by unchecking the Settings -> Reading but then the Home -> “Blog”—> breadcrumb in each post still links to the default appereance of the Blog section. ¿Any way to fix this? Thanks.
Hi, Don’t set a blog page in the reading settings, by default wordpress behavior there will be used default blog style, just create a simple page with the permalink you need and put there blog shortcode.

I got also the problem that the whole theme doesn’t show Fonts in “Bold” Style. I use font-weight:bold or . It doesn’t matter which Font I choose.

i m using Bright Portfolio https://codex-themes.com/thegem/starting_page/themes.php?page=splash-portfolio-lightand in my case, the left side menu appears way below the site logo. it has lots of top white space, it pushes down all the menu links and search bar below visible area, without any scroll bar. how to remove that white space?
Also, any way i can add scroll bar to the left menu?

I’d like to buy a new licence, but I have 2 questions. I want to use TheGem to build a shop… List items for sale, run promotions, discounts etc. (1) Will the installing of the template handle the data base part, or do I have to create one myself?... Will I need mySQL knowledge?, how about PHP or others? (2) Will I be having an admin page?, where my client can add products, run promotions etc. Whether customizable or not, but is it already there, or do I have to create it / code it myself from scratch? 1. Sure, database will be prepared automatically – by installing TheGem and importing shop demo(s) you will get all necessary data to start. You don’t need any MySQL or PHP knowledge for this. 2. Sure. You have your admin dashboard to control your shop and your clients have their account pages in case they register in shop. You do not need to create it from scratch.

Square images are always cropped in the gallery slideshow. There should be an option to maintain the aspect ratio of square images.
