Hi, I am getting an error after upgrade Journal 2 under Opencart from 2.X to 3.0.3.6. Can advise how to solve it by myself? I have downloaded Journal 2 for 3.X and put the files into folders by FTP for replacing the files, and would like the existing setting under OpenCart 2.x would be kept.

You can create modules ahead of time, add them to layout and only have them appear on that certain dates.

Thanks for the quick reply, using this feature we can scheduled whole slider or banner set but it will be more helpful if we can scheduled individual slid like banner 1 – 1st Jan 20 – 28th Feb 20 banner 2 – 1st Jan 20 – 10th March 20
You would have to duplicate modules and have the entire module scheduled.

1. You can use Journal for any type of store as all demos are multi-purpose, however we don’t have a dedicated jewellery demo at this time.
2. Opencart does have a voucher system built in but this is not related to the theme so you should check this functionality in Opencart http://docs.opencart.com/en-gb/marketing/coupon/
3. Not sure how you mean but you can show any Journal module to either customers (logged in users) or guests (those not logged in).
4. We do not have such functionality.
5. This is not theme related, payments and shipping are separate extensions that may or may not work with the Journal checkout, however you can use the default Opencart checkout in such cases.
6. We do not have such functionality.
7. We can’t really answer this since it would depend on what attractive means to you, we think all menus from our demos are pretty attractive.
8. All of our demos are multi-purpose and can be used for any type of store, however we don’t have a dedicated jewellery demo at this time.

Hi, that is an optional feature that needs to be activated in either the product tabs or the Blocks module. In the case of the category description, that may use the Blocks module so look in Journal > Modules > Blocks > [your block] > Block Item > Content > Collapse Content…

Hi, you can populate a mega menu dropdown with different width columns and in each add Products modules that display products from certain categories, if that’s what you’re asking.

hi author, thanks for your reply, what I need is: Sales (main menu) -> 10% off, 20% off, flat 50% off (Sub menu), so when I click on 10 % off sub menu, only those products listed on which 10% off discount added and so on (I don’t want to create a category with 10% off) and add products into that specific category, I need when I give discount it automatically listed into that specific category according to discount.
Unfortunately there aren’t dedicated pages for the special (discounted) products in Opencart. There is only one such page which displays all special products. At this time you might be able to create something like that with the information pages and custom Journal modules.

Hello. I had to disable quick checkout because it was not working with my payment gateways. However, the coupon field is not showing on the cart page anymore.
I search on the documentation, and there’s no way no enable it.
All coupon functionality is enabled on opencart.
Hi, default Opencart checkout does not have coupon option, but it should be visible on cart page, please make sure everything works fine when using the default Opencart theme first and then file a ticket on our support page if you encounter issues when using Journal.

Coupon option works with default theme. It show on the cart page.
When I enable Journal theme, it stops showing.
I cannot post a ticket to support page anymore because my support period expired.
It is obvious coupon functionality was removed from cart in order to show it to quick checkout.
You must forgot to validate this.
I already read documentation several times and there’s nothing about this subject.

Hi, you can add additional Blocks module with any HTML content per category page via custom layouts, if that is what you’re asking. This involves creating custom layouts for each category and then creating custom modules for each which are to be added on each custom layout.

But in searching for questions about compatibility of plugin programming with Journal We found this response. Module is supported journal theme but not support module quick checkout. You can disable this module or customize to use. Thanks Is this incompatible with our current system using OpenCart 3?

1. We cannot vouch for that extension, not sure if it’s compatible and we can’t provide support for the extension compatibility. But yes, Journal comes with two checkouts, so you can use the default Opencart one if needed.
2. That’s not something Journal related, make sure you have properly enabled SSL in Opencart (easiest way is to edit config.php file and make all urls https) and then clear Journal cache. Please file a ticket on our support page if you need further assistance.

No idea if I’m the only one with this problem or if others have reported this.
Today I wanted to upgrade from J3 version 3.0.46 to the latest version but my site crashed on it.
No clue if these things are related. When I downloaded the package and unzipped it with the build in Windows unzip I got an error that the pads from some files where too long. Downloaded the free 7Zip which unzipped it without a problem.
When uploading the files there was an error on 12 files or so that couldn’t be uploaded. The front of my site gave a error referring to the blog. Tried uploading the files again. Again a few files that couldn’t be uploaded and my filezilla client crashed. For the moment I’ve but back the back up I made just before doing the upgrade so everything fine.
Will probably be a problem on my site. Just wanted to let you know about this. Waiting for a next update before I try to upgrade again.

There can be some limitations from Windows operating system where file paths cannot have more than 260 characters. In this case, consider copying the Journal archive downloaded from Themeforest on your C:\ drive instead of Desktop or Downloads folder and extract it to C:\ too.
