HI! Is there a way to prevent vertical images from being resized? I generally use a size of 1600×1200 for horizontal images and 800×1200 for vertical ones. After being resized in the post gallery they take up much more space than the original and make viewing difficult. Using two columns is not an option. Thank you.

If you don’t want to affect the portfolio font size. Please use the custom CSS to adjust the font size(title, price, add to cart):

Hello again! Unfortunately, I found it hard to search in the forum. I have a few more questions for you please:
1. Using the Home8 demo, I created new pages that look great! But on the home page, they show up in small boxes to the left (like the Portfolio Justified view), but I would like them large and centered like in Demo8 (‘projects featured’ category for example). How do I adjust these pages to show up as centered, wide squares on the home page? (The demo boxes work but the newly created pages I made do not)
2. How do I turn off post comments?
3. How do I change the links for the social media and email icons on the post page?
4. What is the best way to adjust the thumbnail image so that the entire image displays in the box?
5. How do I make the social media icons from the Menu open in a new window?

1. The homepage was created by the Custom grid template. Please edit the homepage, click “Edit Your Portfolio Layout”, screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mou896fextycuin/qq20200325-102443.jpg?dl=0 You could drag&drop each image in this editor.

3. What’s the social share or social link? The social icons under the post main content are social share, the social icons(or text) on the header(or footer) are social links. The social links can be changed, social share not, you could refer the different: https://seatheme.net/forums/topic/how-do-i-add-a-sidebar-to-archive-posts/#post-14292 Please go to Appearance > Theme Options > Social networks to set them (same as question 5)4. It is not possible to show the absolutely entire image by the Custom grid template(mentioned in question 1). It will be cropped little or more. You could use the Masonry Portfolio template(1 col). It will show the entire image. If you want to make the list narrow and centered, please paste the custom CSS code to “Appearance > Customize: Additional CSS”

2. Thank you for this! If I might make a suggestion, I think Step 2 should show that the “Discussion” box should be checked. I realized only after trying (and failing) to make any changes in the “Comments” box (which the step shows should be checked) that this was the problem haha.
3. Thank you for clarifying! I had not realized those links on posts were for social share! I was fooled by the Demo leading to a website and (wrongly) assumed the links were for the person who made the post. Thank you for clearing that confusion! I was able to make changes to open link in new tab in theme options.
4. Thank you for this additional option! I love the customizer so I will try to make that work if I can. I always get nervous about changing code haha

Hello! Me again haha I am having a problem with Submenus (I looked in the forum but the replies were private). In Mobile, I am only able to select the Submenu item (for example, I made “Contact” a submenu of “About” so now I’m only able to select “Contact” and not about). Would you please advise? It seems to work fine on desktop and ipad. Thank you so much!

If you create the sub-menu, the parent menu item should not be linked page. It will be clicked to show it’s sub-menu. You could create the menu tree like” Pages > About, Contact, etc”.

With my previous question: I decided to change the menu style all together to fit the menus (before it was causing the header to move so I was trying to figure out how to shrink the menus). But thank you…this explanation makes sense.
I have two more things to ask, however:
1. I have tried to integrate a Gallery on the “Photos” page…but no matter what I try (deactivated plugins, changed photos, tried all of the “Smush” options), the photos show up blurry! Would you please advise on how I can create a large photo gallery (100 photos) most effectively? (i.e. not blurry, fast load speeds) Is it possible to do this with the portfolio options or is that strictly for posts?
2. I noticed on your website that you use MailChimp for your newsletter. Would you please advise the best way to integrate MailChimp subscriptions with this theme? (Bar on lower part of page or pop-up box)

Hello again! I must apologize…I have not been getting much sleep and it’s caused me to miss some things haha I think I’ve solved the photos problem! The size was set to “thumbnail” so that led to the poor quality. The gallery is displaying! But I remain open if you have another suggestion. Also, the subscription instructions were excellent! There is no a theme that does not require the user to learn. I suggest you read the Doc( https://doc.seatheme.net/static/arnold/ ). This may help you understand how easy it is according to your own situation.
If you want to build a website same mostly the demo site, it doesn’t need to much time to learn to use theme builder(editor). You could import the demo data, replace the content(images, text, etc).
PS: If you feel it is difficult after using it for a period of time, you can apply for and get a fully refund.
