Hi – just recently purchased the WP Cast Them and get it fully setup with all demo content on our test / dev area site. But so far have been entirely unable to figure out how to setup Podcasts & Series all based on my client’s SimpleCast streams. Please help! Thanks.

1. What is the difference between series and category?

Hi! 1) is a parallel taxonomy that can be displayed in archives of cards. Let’s say you have a list of podcasts from multiple authors and they all talk about multiple topics. You make a serie, and it can have inside all of those episodes, without them losing the specific categories.
You can have podcasts belonging to the same category within different series.
2) This would require custom coding, there is no built-in functionality for this, nor we can provide support for this integration
3) Technically yes, yet anyway requires custom coding if you mean the system icons that are part of the UI
4) Is automatic
5) top right corner is an information not a button. On hover, the button appears, much bigger and usable https://imgur.com/a/7R67Iop6) It’s calculated in backend, reload and you’ll see it change. That’s for performance conservation.
7) I have no idea, never tested
You can import any podcast with SSP, almost every customer does it and our documentation has specific chapters to explain how to correctly do this.

5. Yes, on the desktop it is clear where the love button is, but in the mobile version, the love button is inside the share button (based on demo version). Can the love button be separated from the share button as in the desktop version, so users are more interested in giving love to each podcast.

Hello! 2) There are literally tons of ads plugins, they all are very complex to use and have pro and cons, that’s why we decided to stay out of this subject, that’s completely up to you and we can’t help with integration. Ads plugins are a whole universe, are complex to use, and very complex.
Also, you may expect them to require some extra effor to work with ajax, and is a topic you should ask to the plugins authors in advance (just ask them, works in an ajax website?)
3) We can help changing the icons, if is a couple is no problem, if are many we need to make a code customization quotation because, well, that’s a lot of extra work that is not really part of the support service (like modding a car for instance)
5) As point 3. That’s quite a complex change too…

I just bought the wpcast theme, and played around with it.
There are several problems that I face.
The play button on media player doesn’t work and the player on the homepage doesn’t have a title.
Wpcast Blocks for Gutenberg failed to install with the following error message,
Plugin installation failed.
Plugin not activated. A higher version of Wpcast Blocks for Gutenberg is needed for this theme. Please update the plugin.

I am needing help with QT SERIE. I have added an episode, made categories and assigned it to a category, added the SERIES-LARGE to my homepage builder, input the episode code, and when I do that.. the series cards disappear from my homepage. I did not see an example of how to do this in the support documentation, only an unanswered question on the forum of the same issue. Can you help?

Good morning sir, I see your feed working perfectly in my feed reader.
Apple and Spotify keep rejecting it 
I can only suspect that some settings are still incorrect sir.
We had our demo site indexed on Google and Apple podcast for mistake, still before the site was even public or indexed on the google serp… so there is something wrong with your RSS feed settings that need improvements.
If you need support with your settings, I’ll be happy to provide it, but I have to please ask you to renew the support license, in respect to the other customers supporting our work.
Once you have a valid support I’ll be able to help you setting up correctly your feed URL and additional fields, even though is not properly “theme support” territory, as I understand the rss feed is crucial for this theme and we have been studying the topic a lot to provide a complete knowledge on this.
The issue is anyway caused only by settings, as the theme is based on the native podcasting capabilities from WordPress. You may want to try using also the PowerPress plugin to have more options regarding this.

Hello, what’s the URL of the stream? also, in a few days there is a new theme similar to wpcast but for radio stations coming out, you can have a look at the website https://pro.radio as it has many more functionalities than wpcast for a radio, like schedule and more. Plus it works with Elementor. It should be available around the 7th of september

I have been testing several podcast templates, but have been unsuccessful one player that continuously plays episode after the page is exited. I see on your demo that works. Is the file you are playing hosted locally on your Wordpress app server, or is it externally hosted. my files are all externally hosted on Amazon S3. Can you show me a demo where you have an hour long externally hosted audio file on this template. Do you have refunds if it does not work for me? Also, I observed that my pages and my jw player videos would not load when I turned on the continuous play on the other templates I tested. Jw player uses java script.

I really love the WPCast theme and have been enjoying it for a while without any big problems.
Until recently, just when my support subscription ended and the latest WP update came out.
Because i can’t post a question on your support forum. I will do it here, because i feel this problem should be fixed without me paying for an extra support term.
Since the new WP update suddenly i can’t list my podcast timestamps (the podcast tracklist) in my back-end (in the post) i can still see one row, which i can fill in, but as soon as i try to add another row for more timestamps this simply doesn’t work anymore. I can click whatever i want, but nothing happens. No new row / box appears.
I also noticed that when i try to add artwork to my podcast feed (Powerpress) in the same post. And i click the upload artwork button. Also nothing happens, so i think this is related to each other.
I really hope you can help me out here with solving this.

No problem, we are helping everybody with the updates for wp 5.5 because is a big change. Our theme and plugins are all up to date and compatible with this Wordpress version.
You need to make sure your plugins are updated too.
HOW TO UPDATE THE PLUGINS:

2. Click “Go to WpCast Plugins” from this page
3. Update the ‘TTG Theme Core Plugin”

Thank you had tried that but the theme is installed on a subsite of a multisite install and not multisite activated… following that route always makes the updates fail. I don’t understand why you provide a download to the theme without the required plugin version
The plugins are downloadable from our repository and from WordPress repository because this allows us to provide instant updates and block piracy. If we don’t do like this any minimum update can take 2 days and also it would be useless to work, because the customer would have easy way to download and install pirates copies sold through Chinese unauthorized resellers.
Anyway, you are free to install unlimited copies on subfolders, subdomain a and local test installations.

I have it just enabled on one subsite and i know how envato works in general in that regards. I just expect that when i download a theme update it the plugins that come with it are the ones that are required.
Well, every theme is different sir. Some popular themes even download a completely different theme and set of plugins once the purchase code is actived. I would like to know please if you want assistance with the installation still or not. We have more than 10 thousands active installations of our themes by now so the system is well ran in and working smoothly, allowing fast interventions and update delivery when a hot fix is needed, like for wp 5.5
So if you need help please send us the mentioned information so I can check the status of the site and help with that, or please confirm if is all solved.
Once you install the theme the first time, the plugins are all available in your server, and you can also easily clone the installation using cPanel ir any plugin, or download a local copy.
You see the purchased badge next to my name, i have also emailed my purchase code… i bought this theme legitimately 4 days ago… when i go update it for the first time it refuses to activate it’s core plugin because the version you include in the download file does not match the one required for the theme. That’s all i have to say! Now regarding your issues with “china” thats why you have an activation system provided by envato. All i want is that a product i bought works properly and not be faced with version issues before i even go live with it. The change log inside the plugin is stuck somewhere in 2018 so of course i come and complain here. Have a great day

I really need some customizations tips… how can I proceed? If is possible by this comments:
1: Is there a way to the sticky player only appear when the user clicks “play” in an episode?
2: Is there a way to deactivate the playlist function of the sticky player, as I have premium shows that is available only for some users (and the player plays all episodes)
3: is there a way to insert a customized button in any post listing where user clicks it and the episode plays? something like the play icon that already exists… is there a simple “onClick” function for that?

About your requests 1) There is no built-in function for this but I think is a good point for a new feature that can be added 2) that’s possible with a css customization that we can provide 3) Yes you can, we can give you the code to make a play button easily to play the track you give it, with custom title, author, mp3 and thumbnail. We can eventually also add a Page Builder new shortcode for you if you ask through the support.

Hello! You can use PowerPress to edit the RSS feed. The theme is based on the default WordPress podcasting features. Anyway, I’m not very sure this is the caused of your problem: we had many podcasting websites correctly indexed on google and apple podcast with the default structure. Are you very very sure that maybe is not the same podcast appearing twice because is indexed under different “archives” like category and tags? This may be also caused if, maybe, you changed the permalink structure, and the same podcast can have been indesxed with different permalinks.

And yes, the problem is the main feed of my wp website beeing indexed by google and others. My podcast feed is external (from spreaker) and the duplicated podcast appearing in google podcasts is getting it´s files from the wp installation feed. Maybe this is good suggestion for the theme: a toggle “I am using an external platform to host my podcast and feed” and than the feed generated by wordpress would not include the podcast enclosures. Just an idea.
Aaaah I understand now, so you mean that actually you are indexing BOTH the feed from Spreaker and the one from the website! I thought you were having indexed double the same podcast of your website, sorry for the misunderstanding.
As your issue is understandable, I tried to do some search for you, and found out that some SEO plugins (YOAST in the specific) can add a tag to the RSS feed that prevents its indexing in the external directory. Please have a look here, it seems a solution for you (while it was a problem for this guy of the discussion 
It seems that this was fixed in Yoast and the solution (or problem for others) is not happening anymore). I will keep trying to solve this. Thank you.
Actually, you may want to have a look at the SSP settings and maybe ask their support as it can have some built-in feature for this. As an alternative, you can hard-block the bots access to the feed by using a blocking directive in your robots.txt file, but make sure to block only the feed URL or this can deindex your website.

Hello, I’m very sorry but the compatibility with third party plugins is not part of our support (as per global Themeforest support policy). I would suggest contacting the authors of the plugin and mentioning that your website uses ajax page loading, that is an important detail for the implementation. If required, you can disable ajax plugin in the Plugins list. Of course, the music will stop when navigating the website.
