I don’t think that’s possible I’m afraid, the theme’s A to Z alphabetical order option is literally that, then WordPress applies it and sends the theme the posts in that order, I don’t think it’s possible to do what you’re asking for in WordPress queries.

Thanks for the interest in Zeen and sure thing:

1- Sure, Zeen is coded following best WordPress coding standards practises. In other words, all plugins that are coded properly will work well with the theme. The best way to test if you don’t have Zeen is to test the plugin on TwentyTwenty theme (default WordPress theme) and if it works there, then it’ll work the same way in Zeen.

2- You should be able to use your preferred plugin.

3- Elementor is a really generic builder, even though other themes show demos with it, you can achieve anything you see on the Elementor official site. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend using Elementor unless you really have to. I find it extremely bloated and no matter how fast Zeen is (it’s extremely fast), Elementor will add extra weight to your site.

4- Themeforest has a text character limit on theme description pages, and as Zeen’s updates have been so frequent and as so many new features/improvements have been added, the limit was reached so you can’t see the entire changelog. However, to sum it up, Since Zeen v1.0, there have been some huge updates with hundreds of improvements, refinements, optimizations, etc. Most are user suggestions/requests too.

Zeen v4.0 (and many updates beyond) will continue this trend. Therefore, you can expect lots of new goodies, features, demos, etc, added

Love that you love the theme

This is Chris (Codetipi dev) and that has been considered during past updates. The only reason a cookie notice banner feature hasn’t been added to Zeen is because it would only really be able to block cookies created by the theme itself. If a user declined the cookie notice, the theme wouldn’t be able to stop plugin cookies for example.

Other themes that have this feature are most likely not actually working as the cookie law says, which defeats the purpose of having a cookie notice

Zeen could have had it added a long time ago and marketed the feature for extra sales, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it as it wouldn’t work as expected. Zeen is all about quality and honesty.

Currently Zeen has all the theme cookies listed in the documentation so users can add them into a proper cookie notice solution that can block specific cookies.

I will investigate again to see if there is a way a theme can block all cookies for users automatically if the user declines the notice, but unless I find a way to do that, this feature can’t be added to Zeen.

Personally I no longer use SEO by Yoast, I use Rank Math plugin. It’s much better in my opinion, so maybe check that out.

Both plugins are 100% compatible with Zeen though, everything works everywhere (including all the checks you mention).

I’m not sure why you say Yoast can’t check keywords, links, alt text, etc, as it 100% can/does. The only place that they can’t do it is in the output data of pages built with the builder as builders to work need to work outside Gutenberg.

For the plugins to be able to read the data from builders the plugin itself needs to have major custom code integrated to read it (that’s what they did with Elementor). I’m afraid this isn’t something the theme or builder can do, it’s up to the seo plugin maker I’m afraid. But aside from builder pages, the seo plugins will 100% work as expected with Zeen.

Hi, thanks for reply. Yes, Yoast is operational with Zeen, sorry for misunderstanding. But Yoast can not be used for “live” checking keywords, links and alt text when editing page or post when builder is used.So there is little support for SEO inside page/post. Sure, I could use Rank Math, if it support “live” SEO checks inside builder pages. Any help with SEO would be helpful and also asset for Zeen. Think about it.

You’re welcome Yeah, I agree it would be great, but the issue is that it’s not a theme or builder thing, it’s 100% Yoast that would need special code added for pages built with the builder to have the live keyword feature running. They manually did it for Elementor. However, if it’s just text, a slight workaround could be to paste your text on a draft normal post to get keyword feedback from Yoast.

P.s I personally wouldn’t recommend using Yoast for this type of thing though, I’d recommend using an external SEO tool that reads your final post’s url. They are able to read the ENTIRE post/page’s html and give you proper feedback over your keywords. As bots (inc google bots) will load all the html, not just the content area that Yoast gives you scores on.

Ah it sounds like that theme has a custom way to use thumbnails. Zeen follows best WordPress coding practise so it’s all done via WordPress core. To regenerate thumbnails you can use any normal regeneration plugin such as this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

I have already done the default hero design, as described in the first post.

I inactivated the cache plugin, no difference.

I am not using Newspapar theme, I am using your newspaper demo ” The World Times For the Journalist”

It all looks good, but I gotta say I’m quite disappointed that it took only 5 minutes for something to go wrong/not working properly.

After a lot of searching, I finally found the issue.

Apparently the posts have individual hero image chosen instead of “default”. So when scrolling down on each post, I can change it to “default mode” and then it uses the settings I’ve chosen under “default hero design”.

I’ve managed to hide it by targeting the label tag in the editor, but it might not be a long term fix. Ideally, I’d rather just have 3-4 we agree to use, than dozens of different options. It’s good to have the choice to start with though!

That’s what he would have provided actually – that is the best (only) solution to something like this though. The options’ html won’t change though, so it is a good long term fix for your needs too

I recommend reading up on that on the net, as there isn’t much a theme can do about it.

CLS is your layout shifting during the loading of the page, which will almost always happen if you use third party ads (above the fold in particular), have custom special content, use unique fonts with unusually tall letters, etc.

The theme does have an opt-in filter to help a bit, but that is the extent a theme can do. Check the documentation about that.
