Sorry to say that but you can not create the header using Elementor Page Builder but you have to create it using Theme Header Builder, you can follow the below-given instructions in the Theme Documentation:

Clearing cache does nothing, no errors in Apache log.

Permissions on porto_styles folder is 755, contents are 644 (changing to 755 made no difference). I can see that the contents of the folder are being updated when I save a Header Type, but no change to color can be seen on the site.

Additionally, changing the colors from Skin > Header > Header > Background does change the background color (shown here: https://i.imgur.com/t7OAC6c.png), but going through the Header Style itself doesn’t.

Let me explain to you, if you change the Header type, it only change the structure of the Header and position of the elements of the Theme but not the color of the Header, you have to change the color of the Header separately from Porto >> Theme Options >> Skin >> Header.

I would like to have the copyright section on the left and the disclaimer, terms and condition, privacy policy etc. on the right. But due to the alignment of the ’’copyright position’’ i am not able to add own code. Any ideas on this?

Simply use the Blocks, please create a new block and then set anything in it using page builder, now copy the block slug name, finally, go to Appearance >> Widgets and add the Porto block widget in Footer Bottom sidebar and paste the block slug name in it, check back your site after removing the browser cache.

There is no option in the Theme Options to move the Category Description from top to bottom on the category page. But you can achieve it by following the steps listed below.

1. Please go to WP-Dashboard >> Blocks and create a new block.
2. Add/Write the Description in the particular block as per your requirements.
3. Save the block and click on quick edit and copy the block slug name.
4. Go to  Products >> Categories and edit the particular category.
5. After editing the particular category scroll below, you will find Content Bottom option.
6. Paste the block slug name in the Content Bottom Option and save change.
7. Finally check your site after removing the browser cache.
