Hello – I apologize, but please disregard the last help sent. I was correct in that the update has sent it haywire again. When I reinstated the backup it took away the update, at least it looks like it. Can you confirm that and tell me if do the update is on place? Do you have directions on how I restore it back to the beautiful design I have once I install the update? Thanks so much in advance for your reply and continue to be safe! – Tonita
Sure, the update is working fine. Our demo site is also running with the latest update of the Vela theme (2.0.8): https://wydethemes.com/vela1
However, you will need to update all bundled plugins to the latest update too.
After you update the theme, you will see a notification message at the top of your admin screen to update the bundled plugins. If the notification was dismissed, navigate to Appearance -> Install Plugins. You can find more details in the documentation: https://wydethemes.com/vela/documentation/#update-plugins
Also, you will need to purge all caches if there is a caching plugin on your site.
If it still doesn’t work, you may need to send me your web address so I can check it.
Hello – I was able to restore my back-up and everything went back to normal. So please disregard my last ticket. Thanks so much and I still totally love this theme. Kudos and continue to be safe. -Tonita

Hello – Hope this email finds you well and continuing to be safe. Let me start by saying your website design is the best. I have received so many compliments. With this said, I just applied the update to my website, and it has totally gone haywire. I was able to save the the look from before, but I am not sure what has happened. Thanks in advance for your help to get it back to the beautiful looks. Also, can you tell me how I can prevent this from happening with future updates? Thanks in advance. – Tonita
Thank you for choosing our theme!
FYI, you can check out the reply here: https://themeforest.net/comments/26182526
Is there a way I can replace the dropdown menu icon down arrow?
Thanks
That’s ok, I figured it out.
My apologies for the delayed response!
Anyway, glad to hear you figured it out.
Hi Hope all is well.
I just bought the updated version of Vela for my website and installed it. Purchase code:
The issues I am having are with the Vela Half Donut charts and Team Members sliders on this This was the reason I updated the theme.
In case it helps, I had accidentally updated the new version of WP-Bakery before reading I needed the theme since it was embedded.
Nevermind, Found answer above. Thanks!
Glad to hear it has been solved!
Can we upload our own images in addition to those in the Vela infobox icon?
We are sorry but the Infobox doesn’t support images. Only font icons are allowed.
Is there a way to hide the bottom arrow on the menu rollover?
Thanks
.dropdown-nav > ul > li > a:before,
.header .menu-cart > a:before,
.header #search:before {
display: none;
}
Im getting this error i couldn’t fix the problem. Can you help me Warning: The magic method Vc_Manager::__wakeup() must have public visibility in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\js_composer\include\classes\core\class-vc-manager.php on line 203
Apologies for the delay!
This is a compatibility issue. The current version of WPBakery Page Builder plugin that’s included in the theme is not compatible with PHP 8.0. Thank you for reporting this issue. We will include the new update of that plugin in the next update of the theme.
Hello, after your updates, my web site stops working, graphics are missing, photos are missing, links are not working (https://diginext.ru/). Is it central problem and when are you planning to fix it?
My apologies, this is a compatibility issue. The Bootstrap in this theme is not compatible with jQuery 3.x that’s included in the new WordPress 5.6. We are working on this and will release the new update ASAP!
However, if you would like to fix it right now. You will need to edit the theme under Appearance -> Theme Editor. Then delete the code below from the file ‘js/page.js’ line 442:
$(".tooltip-item, .icon-block, .social-icons a").tooltip();
It is still not working, even i did what you wrote. When it will be fixed?
We just uploaded the new update of the Vela theme. You will see a notification email when it is available for download. You can find more details on how to update the theme here: https://wydethemes.com/vela/documentation/#update
Hi
i bought the support (Vela) , how can i update ( 2.0.5.1 -> 2.0.7 ) the theme?
We suggest to install the Envato Market plugin so you can install the new update under Appearance -> Themes on your WordPress admin.
You can find more details in the documentation: https://wydethemes.com/vela/documentation/#update
Hi, could you please make the “portfolio” text “previous post” and “next post” translatable? And please “show more” in portfolio, too. With every update it’s annoying to search in the source code for these items. Although “portfolio” stopped working. I get these errors:
Uncaught Error: Bootstrap’s JavaScript requires jQuery version 1.9.1 or higher, but lower than version 3 at bootstrap.min.js:6 at bootstrap.min.js:6 jquery.min.js?ver=3.5.1:2 Uncaught TypeError: $(...).tooltip is not a function at Object.initPlugins (page.js?ver=2.0.7:442) at Object.contentLoad (page.js?ver=2.0.7:202) at Object.load (page.js?ver=2.0.7:180) at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (page.js?ver=2.0.7:75) at e (jquery.min.js?ver=3.5.1:2) at t (jquery.min.js?ver=3.5.1:2)
I really hope you can help.
My apologies for the late reply!
However, all of those words are included in the vela.pot file and translatable. Please ensure that all files in the theme folder are up-to-date. You can use the Loco Translate plugin to translate the theme into another language.
Regarding the issue with JavaScript error, it seems to be a compatibility issue. The bootstrap tooltip in the theme is not compatible with jQuery 3.x that came from the new update of WordPress (5.6). Thank you for reporting this issue, we will fix it in the next update of the theme.
Thank you for the reply. I will wait for the next update and hope, this will fix my problem.
Sorry for the translation issue. With your answer I searched again in the German file (with Loco) and couldn’t find the metioned phrases. Then I made a “new language” in loco (also German) and there I find the phrases.
I didn’t know, I have to make a new language-file.
Sounds like you created a language file from the old version of the POT file which didn’t include those words so you couldn’t find them.
When the POT file in the theme has been updated, you may need to update your translation file by pressing the Sync button in the Loco Translate plugin’s tool bar. You can find more details here: https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/manual/sync
Anyway, glad to hear it has been solved
Can you estimate, when there is a new update? My client is not really happy about the issue that his “portfolio” doesn’t work anymore
Or do you have a little workaround that the images are shown in a lightbox again? I think the bootstrap error does block the lightbox.
We are working on this and will release the next update ASAP!
However, you can edit the theme under Appearance -> Theme Editor. Then delete the code below from the file ‘js/page.js’ line 442 to fix it right now:
$(".tooltip-item, .icon-block, .social-icons a").tooltip();
Sorry for late reply. This works! Thank you!
Hi! I’m using your Vela theme for WP. And I can not find how to change header primary menu size. Can you help me, pls?
We are sorry but this theme comes with different header menu layouts so it is too hard to change the menu size. You may need to add custom CSS to adjust this.
Here is the CSS snippet to increase the height of the #1 layout, you can add it into Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS:
#header #logo,
.nav-wrapper {
padding: 20px 0;
}
Hello dear!
Seems like a little problem since the last updates of WP and PHP. Just had 3 times tryings to reinstal everything but VELA seems to knock some problems or am i wrong? I’m actualy now trying to “apply changes in the theme option” and get this answer “There was a problem with your action. Please try again or reload the page”
Do you have an idea about the last troubles around that could affect me ? Runing with WP 5.5.3 / VELA 2.0.7 / ALL UPDATE in plugins
I also use Vela Demo Content 1.0.1 and importation occured an error (timeout) but did proceed.
Much thanks for your light ! My older site just crashed with timeout accès to any options ….. i’m quite affected already
We are sorry but we have never seen this issue before. Everything is working fine on our site that is also running with the latest update of WordPress (5.5.3) and Vela theme 2.0.7.
However, try these to see if it works:
1. If you have a caching plugin, clear all caches or deactivate it to see if it works.
2. There may be plugin conflicts on your site. You may need to deactivate your plugins one by one to find the problematic plugin.
If it still doesn’t work, you may need to send me your WordPress admin login details so I can check it. You can send a private message through the contact form on our profile page here: https://themeforest.net/user/wyde#contact
Thank you indeed, i really would appreciate some help here around.
I’m sending you right now access to my admin
I’ve been non stop cleaning and installing new fresh wordpress to make it work, but still get impossible to save any of the features of the themes (and pages as well when vela is on) ... it’s been 2 weeks i litterally get nuts with php & wp versions to start on something stable.
last messages i get now on my pages while trying to edit/save is :
”/wp-content/themes/Vela/inc/metaboxes/js/metabox.js: jQuery.fn.load() is deprecated” (jQuery Migrate Helper — Warnings encountered) /wp-content/themes/Vela/js/plugins.js: jQuery.fn.load() is deprecated
When WPBakery Page Builder is desactivated i regain saving control on pages (but not on Vela options) ... but i cant go further while desativating Wyde Core
I’ll be gratefull for some of your expert eyes here
Much of thanks
Thank you for the login details!
Everything seems to be working fine. There is no error message, I can edit and save the Theme Options and Vela Options on your website.
I have no idea why it doesn’t work on your end. It might be a browser caching issue. Try pressing Ctrl + F5 (Command + Shift + R on Mac) on the page you’ve got problems to clear the browser caches to see if it works. You can find more details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bypass_your_cache#Bypassing_cache
Thanks my dear ! Indeed it was a cache issue apparently. Even though i’d already empty them all, i’ve just perform a cleaning of windows register as well and everything seems to be back to normal. All this happened while i was testing and changing php version / wordpress version on my servers. Thanks for your last word that was clearly right.
Glad to hear it has been solved
Can you please provide me a download link with the updated plugins. My server is blocking downloading from your source and I see that the plugins are not provided in the download anymore.
Thank you.
All bundled plugins are also included in the main download zip file. You can download it under the Downloads tab on ThemeForest.
Choose ‘All files & documentation’, you will find those plugins in the “Plugins” folder after you extract the zip file. You can find more details here: https://wydethemes.com/vela/documentation/#installation
Hi,
can you please tell me how in a single blog post I can make the author name appear under the featured image of the blog?
Thanks, Alessandro
It’s under Theme Options -> Blog -> Blog Meta -> Blog Author Name.
I switched this option on and nothing happened. I then also enabled ‘Author Box’ which sits under ‘Blog Single Post’ and the author name appeared at the bottom of the article: https://paste.pics/adca8c86155c2a526042343fe608c9a9 However I want it to appear more subtly like displayed on your demo page above the article: https://wydethemes.com/vela1/here-goes/
Looks like you have custom CSS that hides the post meta data so the author name doesn’t appear.
You may need to remove the following CSS snippet to fix this:
.post-meta {
display: none;
}
If you would like to remove the post meta data, you can turn off the blog meta options under Theme Options -> Blog -> Blog Meta instead.
Thank you I will try this. Also can you please tell me how I can remove recent and popular blog posts from appearing in the right sidebar of my blog.
Thanks.
Navigate to Appearance -> Widgets, remove those widgets from the Blog Sidebar.
Google map shortcode is not working also getting warning on the pages:
js?key=&callback=wyde.page.initMaps:144 You have included the Google Maps JavaScript API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.
It sounds like you have also installed another Google Maps plugin so there are multiple google maps scripts on your site.
When using this theme, you don’t need to install any Google Maps plugin because it is included in the theme.
You may need to deactivate any Google Maps plugins on your site to fix this.
The Vela Options aren’t working on my pages. I can see the options but the sections are blank. For example, if I wanted to replace the slider on a page, I couldn’t because the section is blank.
First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest update of the Vela theme and all bundled plugins. You will find the changelog here: https://themeforest.net/item/vela-responsive-business-multipurpose-theme/9793377#item-description__update-log
If everything is up-to-date but it still doesn’t work. There may be plugin conflicts on your site. Try to deactivate your plugins one by one to find the problematic plugin.
I got it resolved. It was a plugin.
Thanks
Dear Sir, I have a problem on my website showing portfolio.
There are four pages ready in portfolio but they are not displayed on the site?
It worked normally before the update.
HomePage: https://www.bigbangonlinemedia.com/ and link to portfolio: https://www.bigbangonlinemedia.com/diensten/social-media/I renamed portfolio to ” diensten” in the theme option—> portfolio page
It seems to be a permalink caching issue. After changing the portfolio slug under Theme Options -> Portfolio, you may need to visit the Settings -> Permalinks screen. Visiting that screen will clear the permalink caches for your WordPress site.
Thanks. it worked….!!!!!
The current Vela theme uses WPBakery version 6.20. On 10/07/20 WordPress Security announced that WPBakery plugin has been compromised and needs to be updated to version 6.4 1 which has a fully patched version. The only way to update this is for the theme to update. When will this occur given the security issue?
Thank you for reporting this issue! We will release the new update of the theme that includes the latest update of WPBakery Page Builder ASAP.
Also, if you would like to update WPBakery Page Builder plugin right now, here are the instructions to manually update it:
1. Navigate to Plugins screen on your WordPress admin.
2. Deactivate then delete the WPBakery Page Builder plugin.
3. After you delete it, you will see a notification message with the link to install that plugin.
4. Click on “Begin installing plugins” to install the new version of WPBakery Page Builder. If the notification message was dismissed, navigate to Appearance -> Install Plugins.
My purchase code – d05694e6-c9c5-4b45-8fa8-69a1db0eef95
I am unable to make changes when I use the backend editor. My changes aren’t previewed or updated. Also There is no option for me to edit with front end editor which is the main reason I bought the template.
Here are 2 options to edit the page with the frontend editor:
1. Click on the “Edit with WPBakery Page Builder” link under the page title in the Pages list on your WordPress admin.
2. When you edit the page in the backend, you will see the button “Frontend Editor” at the top of the edit screen. If you’re using a block editor (default WordPress editor), you will need to click on “WPBakery Page Builder” button at the top of the edit screen first.
If it doesn’t work, there may be plugin conflicts on your site. Try to deactivate your plugins to see if it works.
If it still doesn’t work, you may need to give me your WordPress admin login details so I can check it. You can send a private message through the contact form on our profile page: https://themeforest.net/user/wyde#contact
Tried doing that nothing works.
You will need to send me your admin login details so I can check it.
The previous issue is been solved. but I cannot extend the picture upto the full width of the site.
I remain at your disposal. Thanks
To create a full width page, you have to choose “Full Width” for the Template option under the Page Attributes box on the right hand side of the page edit screen. You can find more details here: https://wydethemes.com/vela/documentation/#page-templates
Also, you will need to change the Content Width in the Row Settings to Full Width.
The slider revolution from the Theme is not responsive to the phones any suggestions?
You can change the size and position of the text and any layers for different screen sizes in the Responsive Settings (the screen icon in the tools bar at the top of the edit screen). You can find the instructions in the links below:
https://www.sliderrevolution.com/documentation/responsive-setupAlso, you can show or hide some layers for specific screen sizes in the Visibility settings under the Layer Options. You can find more details here: https://www.sliderrevolution.com/documentation/responsive-settings
Thanks but how to I change the size of the slider which is at the top of the page? It does not give me any option in the QP page builder?
Ok That problem has been resolved. Quick question, Can we have a separate slider image for the phones and saparate for the pc?
Because even if I modify layout sizes for each devices it leaves out a lot of blank white spaces.
Hello, Can you look up to my query please?
My apologies for the delayed response!
Sure, you will need an image layer instead of the slide background image so you can display different slider images on desktop and mobile. Here are the instructions:
1. In the Source section under the Slide Options -> Background, change the “Type” option to “Transparent” to remove the slide background image.
2. Add an “Image” layer, choose your image and set the “Size Presets” under the Layer Options -> Size & Pos to “Cover” to make it cover the slide area like a background image.
3. In the Timeline editor at the bottom of the edit screen, move that image layer to the bottom so it is behind other layers. You can find more details in the “Layers z-index / Stacking Order” section on this page: https://www.sliderrevolution.com/documentation/slide-timeline#zindex
4. In the “Visibility” settings under the Layer Options, turn on and off to show or hide it for specific devices.
5. Add another image layer and do the same things as above. Then show or hide it on different devices.
Still facing some issues on the other devices. The image just when on the top but still leaves quite some gap. I remain at your disposal.
Regards
I am facing an issue with the mobile responsiveness of a slider. It does not fit the whole mobile screen. I tried your instructions
And also when I click on a certain page and then click on home page. The slider image is not visible
Regards
I have to reload the page to see the images. It doesn’t come up
It seems to be working fine on my iPhone (Safari on iOS14). There are only small gaps around the images. I just sent a screenshot to your email.
Also, when you enable the Ajax Page Transitions under Theme Options -> Page -> AJAX Options. The sliders might not be visible when changing from another page. You will need to turn on the “Put JS to Body” option under the Module Settings -> Advanced -> jQuery & Output Filters section to fix this issue.
