I have a solution for you, please create two header layouts: http://oceanthemes.net/docs/engitech/2-header-settings/
One for homepage: Go to edit the page and scroll down to the Header/Footer Settings section -> Header Layout and select a specific header
One for other pages: Go to Appearance > Customize > Header > Header Builder to setup.

The reason our site loads is slow is that on our demo site we use a lot of high quality images and we use a basic shared save, no CDN for images. Our hosting from US.
