Hello, I am very interested in this theme, I just have a question regarding page layout. Currently I have several pages that are structured/created using WPBakery, is this theme compatible with WPBakery?

Norway theme was not tested with this plugin. So i can’t guarantee you that pages layout made with this builder won’t break.

I recommend you to search theme in a “Corporate” section on ThemeForest.

I recently bought the Norway theme and the categories are not visible at the top of the posts. I would very much like for them to be visible there and on the front page. Can you suggest how to enable them to be visible?

Hello Mette,
If you want to add three featured categories above the blog feed go to WordPress admin panel > Appearance > Customize > Header > Featured Categories > “ctrl/cmd + click 3 of them”.
If you want to add featured posts above the blog feed you should select the post category in WordPress admin panel > Appearance > Customize > Content > Top Featured Category.

The settings are okay. If the upload process breaks off the issue could be with your hosting provider.

Hello, I’m trying to install the theme and the instruction says “2. Download “Demo Data” from Marketplace and unzip it, you will see the .xml files.” Which Marketplace does it mean? I don’t see “Demo Data” anywhere, I only got “everything.xml” in the package. When I try to install “evertything.xml,” it gives a long list of failed image files. Could you specify which “Demo Data” is missing? – Hugh

everything.xml contains every post/page (including WooCommerce products) except post images because they are only licensed for use on demo website.

Hi,
I finally could make the update to Norway 8. I ran into some issues.
my issues are:
1. The separator (Gutenberg) is to bright and almost invisible – how can i change the colour to darker. 2. Remove – Category buttons on top of the image on Homepage & posts 3. Remove – Time to read – Homepage 4. in Post: Minimize the distance between title and header-image 5. Sidebar ist not centered 6. Mobile: Font is different form the desktop version – desktop version is the one we want 7. Mobile: image captains are not visible. ( i put in some custom css to put the image captains underneath the image, it works on desktop but not on mobile.) 8. At the end oft posts: Remove – leave a comment. 9. At the end oft posts: The Continue reading section is ok, but the size of the pictures is waaay to big – please make smaller. 9. The font colour appears grey and not black. changing the colour to black in Gutenberg does not change it.

1. Separator is now darker
2. Removed category buttons from featured posts and inside posts
3. Removed time to read on home page
4. Distance between title and post image is now smaller
5. Sidebar centered
6. Can you send me screenshot? It seems like body font is “Lato” everywhere (both on mobile and desktop).
7. Done, captions on mobile are visible now
8. Removed comments section from posts
9. Resized the “Continue reading” block. Now it’s smaller
9. Body color is now black.
Please let me know if it looks okay

2. About the sidebar, I noticed that the images in Recent posts listing are rounded and numbered. Is it possible to have them in rectangles without the numbers?

1. No, unfortunately it’s not possible in WordPress and in Norway theme. I’ve seen some plugins that can do this, but i can’t recommend any.
2. Yes, i will give you custom CSS code for this
3. Absolutely, you can use any widgets you like
4. Yes, with custom CSS code it’s possible
The “custom CSS code” means just copy-pasting it in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS, no extra knowledge required

I have a few more questions:)
1. Is it possible to set up two categories for one article?
2. If I want in the future, is it possible for me to add a sidebar on the blog post page but not on the homepage?
3. If I don’t use a sidebar on the homepage, will the blog feed have three columns (if I use grid/masonry)?
4. Can the first image of an article also be set up as wide instead of a full image?
5. About the footer, can I have images in there? I won’t need either Locations nor Archives, but it would be cool to have images with Top Posts or Recent Posts, or even Instagram feed.
6. I saw that the theme is not compatible with Internet Explorer. Do you think it will be possible for me to have a message for a user if he’s using this browser (like “For a better experience, please change your browser”)?
7. I searched online blogs made with your templates, and the ones I saw had a similar experience about loading time (like this one https://herestosunnierdays.com/lifestyle/ or this one https://mylifeofwonder.com/). It’s a big concern for me:/ How can I guarantee that it won’t happen with me?

6. You can add custom code for this
7. It mostly depends on hosting provider. But you can always set up caching plugin.

After the plugin installation it should be activated in Plugins list. This plugin includes “Profile” and “Thumbnail Category Posts” Widgets, they should appear in Appearance > Widgets > “Available Widgets” list.

You can select the featured category in Appearance> Customize > Content > Top Featured Category
You can additionally exclude the category posts from main feed and hide the name of featured category (checkboxes, below in the same section).

1. To be able to see the featured category it should contain posts in this category. Please contact me at support@major-themes.com with the link to your website so i can find out what is causing this issue.
2. Yes, you should install and enable WooCommerce plugin
3. You should use one of the email services for this, for example Mailerlite or Mailchimp. Get the subscription embed code from one of this services and insert it into an HTML Widget in Sidebar.

We have followed the below set of steps to add featured categories. but still it is not getting displayed.
1. We have added category as “featured”. 2. then added the post and marked as “featured” 3. then published.
still i am not able to see the featured categories in the theme.
since this issue we are on hold publishing our web site. currently hosted in the local server. Appreciate your help here.

Appearance > Customize > Content > Top Featured Category

You’ve probably downloaded the full package including child theme, demo data, etc.
In downloads section on ThemeForest you can find the theme package without extra content or you can extract the current zip package and use the theme zip file you find there.
